  1. Thank you  Heike for helping to make our Azamara Cruises special, we will miss you.  We wish you all the best for the future and hope that we may see you again somewhere in the cruising world.

    A great loss for Azamara.

  2. I believe it has to be a 'clinic' administered  test  with a certificate issued afterwards.  We have used Express Test drive thru at Gatwick Airport  for Antigen tests and they have issued the certificates to our email addresses within 40 minutes.  I think some branches of Lloyds pharmacies are also able to offer Antigen tests.

Fantastic- so unlike pursuit do I read that the Angel still appears on the Ultimate package?

Whispering Angel was available on the Ultimate package on Quest last month.

  4. I have travelled on Pursuit when she was Minerva 2 (Swan Hellenic) Royal Princess (Princess Cruises) and Adonia (P & O).  Originally the fridge was in the wardrobe, hence the small holes in the door for ventilation.  It was then moved to under the desk where a certain degree of rebuilding of the desk was needed to accommodate it.  I can't remember under which ownership this work was carried out.

  5. Regarding 'On Demand Movies', when we were on Quest last month there was a range of movies available free of charge on the cabin TV, most were old films with one of two new releases. From memory the most recent were Belfast and the latest Bond film.

  6. Are people tending to mix more onboard now there are less covid restrictions e.g. sharing tables in the MDR  and forming trivia teams.  I got the impression that earlier in the year that people we discouraged

from mixing with other passengers outside of their own travel bubble.

Yes, the furniture and details in these pictures are similar to what I was hoping we'd see!

I have just looked at the photos in the above link and I don't think they are new photos of Onward.

There is a picture of the Land Discoveries Desk adjacent to the Conciege desk.  Surely the Land Discoveries is now on deck 5 in the Den, nowhere near the Conciege.  I believe they are just general photos of an Azamara ship.

  8. We went to Kepez/Canakkale with Azamara some years ago, possibly 2016. The ship was docked in a remote area and at that time they were running shuttle buses to the town of Canakkale on the coast opposite the Galipoli Peninsula.  I think it was about a 20 min journey but I can't remember how frequent the shuttles were.  Although not a fan of organised tours we took the ships tour to visit the Galipoli sites as it would have been too much hassle with shuttles, car hire and ferries to do it independently.

Taking breakfast on the sunset veranda, looking out to wonderful views is a “This is the life” experience for us and would be gutted if it’s closure became a frequent occurrence.

    Regards

I totally agree, it is our favourite place on the ship.

  10. I much prefer being able to choose my wine from a list rather than having to quiz each waiter on "what are the red/white wines today ?", but I am sure I recognise some of those wines and I certainly didn't rate them very highly.

It seems that the system may have changed but the wine hasn't.

  11. On the occasions that we booked a guarantee we did get loyalty points but only for the grade we booked. E.g. If you book an outside guarantee but are lucky enough to be upgraded to a  balcony only will only get the points per night for the outside grade  (3 ?) not the 5 points for a balcony.  I believe the same applies to the bidding system for an upgrade, you only get what you originally paid for not what you end up in.

  12. I find it very strange that the first Azamara airport transfer bus does not leave until 10 a.m.  I have never been on an Azamara cruise whereby they don't want everyone off the ship by 9 a.m at the latest.  I would check with guest relations once on board.  They have a better idea of procedures than the office staff ashore.  If 10 a:m is the earliest time, maybe the concierge would be able to help with private transfers.

  13. I believe these parties were cancelled due to covid but it seems they are now happening again.  Using the link at the top of the page I was able to sign up for the one on my forthcoming cruise.  I just wanted to highlight this as I am sure many other people were unaware  that the meet & mingles were back on.

  14. Very disappointing news.  Azamara was one of the few cruise lines that had a library, well stocked with a good variety of books in a dedicated room.  I guess now that if Onward is to continue have a 'library' it will be poked away in some corner of the ship.  Maybe they will  install a book shop, with books for purchase (better not give them any ideas).

As for the small plates of food to be provided with these expensive cocktails, what is wrong with the tapas in the Living Room or is that to be discontinued.

  15. Thank you Riocca for the information, please keep updating us on this thread as the news about Onwards progress is very much appreciated by those of us who do not use facebook.

  16. As the menus are standard across the fleet can anyone post them here please.  I have looked on Azamara's web site but cannot find them listed anywhere.   How long does the meal generally last? Is there a different wine with each course and are these wines different and generally superior to the everyday included offerings?

I tried the Chefs Table on Viking last year and was very disappointed.  There was no extra charge but the meal was very rushed.  We were finished in just over an hour (5 courses) and the wines were the same as the daily offerings thoughout the cruise.

  17. Are the Chef's Table menus standard across the fleet or do they depend on the ship and the Executive Chef on board at the time ?  What time does the meal start and what is the maximum number of people at the table ?
