1. Personally I would never purchase Cruise Cash as you lose anything left at the end of that cruise. Do the gift certificate instead. If you are a Verizon customer they have the eCertificate at 10% off. $100 eCertificate for $90. They may be used for anything.

How do you purchase this and get the discount? Is that the same as the e-Gift Card I see on the Carnival site?

2. Hi,

my DH & I had cabin 2470 on the Conquest - ocean view in the back corner... looks like 2340 would be it on Sunshine.

Good points:

It is large, even if you made up the couch bed, there would be room for a couple of roll away beds and still be able to get around. So if you are looking to pack several people into a room...this could be it.

Only issue was that it is noisy...thrusters or something like that.

So if you are not light sleepers...a similar location could work for you space-wise on the Sunshine.

3.
I've been eyeing this one for a few weeks. I have another Esther Williams suit and like the fit, and when I saw this quirky print I really wanted it. Finally it went on sale! All the suits are 25% off right now, and they have one pieces, two pieces and plus sizes too.

Love the retro stuff - super cute!
4. I usually take a couple of suits, so I can rinse and let one dry while wearing the other one...every-other-day.

My go-to is a swim-mini to cover up my thighs.
But last time I found these great board shorts at Bass Pro - while hubby was looking at fishing stuff
They have velcro pockets that lay flat to hold my key card....quick drying... loved them!

The top has underwire for support - from Swimoutlet dot com
(first attempt posting a pic...here goes :p)
5. I purchased this dress just for a casual dinner outfit. I tried it on for my husband and said, "The only problem is that my bra straps show", thinking I'd just wear a strapless bra. He replied, "Well, that won't be a problem with your bathing suit." I was confused. Upon clarification, he said he thought it was a bathing suit coverup and not a dress! So I returned it. haha!

bummer.. I think it's pretty...but if he thought it was a coverup in person...I would have taken it back too. Kinda kills the romance if you come out dressed up and get that "You're wearing THAT?" look

6. Mousey,

I have vein issues as well and I'm very pale.

I had gotten over worrying about them...until I had a therapy assistant where i was taking PT ask me if i had a certain procedure...and I didn't know what she was talking about. Then I became self conscious again...realizing that I had 5 spots of spider veins in a hand pattern...making it look like I had been man-handled :(

Getting a little color, whether from the sun or artificial tanners helps camouflage them.

If you decide to do something more permanent - there are options.

I have tried both Sclerotherapy(injections) and laser therapy. I personally got better results from the laser option several years ago, than I did recently with the injections...but everyone is different. Keep in mind that they tell you not to tan/sunbath for 2-3wks afterwards - so it would not be something to do immediately before heading out for a week in the sun.

7. I realize you guys don't know me, so this will not be quite as humorous, but I'm posting it anyway.

My mother just stopped by to bring a dress she bought for me to wear when we go on our cruise. She was out shopping and it "looked tropical" so I guess that was all that mattered. Let me add that I tend to dress pretty conservatively, I have a teenage son that would probably not care to see me in this and I am taller that 5'0". This dress is skin tight and saying that it comes to my mid thigh is being overly generous.

It's like the woman doesn't know me at all! LOL!

Here it is (this is a view from the back so you can get the full effect):

I'm with Perrisk - you can make it more conservative. How about a tank/cami to fill in the neckline with capri length leggings & flats or sandals? I would go with white for all of them....since the dress has enough color on it's own. You could go all out with white sunglasses and hat..and you are all set for walking around in port. :D

Here are my eBay buying tips:

1. know your measurements and if the seller does not post the measurements, then ask for them.

2. only buy from sellers with over 1000 reviews and at least 98% are positive.

3. if it's a "make an offer", you can usually get the item if you deduct 20-25% from their "buy it now" price.

4. do searches by the brands that you have had positive experiences with. My searches are Adrianna Papell, JS Collections JS Boutique, Tadashi, and White House Black Market. These brands run long and I know my sizes in them.

5. search eBay at least 2-3 times a week and only buy things that you love.

6. read the return policy and make sure you are comfortable with it.

7. go with new with tags...trust me on this one. I bought a dress that I loved that was "worn once" and listed "like new", well $40 later in dry cleaning bills it is almost like new. My $15 cocktail dress cost me $55 and was not much of a bargain at that point. I do love it, but wish I had this rule before I bought it.

8. on clothing, if you see the word "vintage" then the sizing is not today's sizing and will run about 2 sizes smaller. Yup, I screwed up with this as well.

9. narrow your searches down to your current size, and one size up and down...not all designers size the same.

10. narrow down to the type of clothing or accessory. Like dresses, pants, clutch purses, etc.

I guess that is all my eBay knowledge. As long as you put in some time to search, you will find some great bargains out there. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I will try to help.

Awesome LISA!

I really appreciate your recommended labels.... I buy very little online, because I am afraid it will be too short - since i am almost 5' 11".

Maybe I will give it another shot....for a bargain. :p

THANK YOU!!

Amy

9. Thanks! I was thinking silver also. I need to go shopping and see what I can find.

And if I wasn't the same height as my husband (5'10") I might like to try heels. Oh well! :)

I agree with the others - embrace it and be proud.

I am just a little taller than my hubby, and understand it can be awkward...but then i feel goofy in formal or cocktail dresses in flats. So I usually get like 2"... I've been known to kick them off for pics if my feet won't show :). On our cruise last Dec i just chose to stand on the lower step for formal pics :p

10. I got this Nicole Miller dress in the Neiman Marcus sale online last week and it arrived yesterday. Been looking at it since it was full price and finally bought it for 70% off although had to get a 6 and bust needs taking in a little. Just need that Caribbean weather now...oh and new shoes and bag to go with but can't decide on colour. ru8yve4y.jpg

Love it!

it just screams - Take me to the ~~~~Caribbean ~~~~~~

congrats on scoring 70% off... love a bargin!

I'm on the hunt for some shoe clips to wear with a couple of evening bags..haven't found them yet.:

Drew's Wife,

I know this is a slow response, I haven't been on in a while...just catching up on looking at everyone's pretty dresses.

If you are still looking for shoe clips - consider checking out oversize clip-on earrings.

12.
Hey all. Been lurking for awhile and decided to post my bargains I found at dress barn. (All 3 for less than $80) I bought these for an upcoming 21 day cruise in March, and have been very excited to go shopping this time around. Over the past year and a half I managed to take off 130 lbs and for the first time in 20 years I'm back in a size 10 - whoo hoo!

I thought I would stick with cocktail dresses as these I may be able to wear again when not on a cruise ship. Now to figure out what jewelry and shoes to wear!
Seamist - congratulations on your weight loss - that's amazing!!!
what better way to celebrate than with a great deal on cute party dresses - IN SIZE 10.... and a CRUISE! :D
13. Hello ladies,

Hope all is well with everyone and try not to get sick. I was sick for three weeks with a bad cold, I was miserable.

A few weeks ago, I was talking aloud that I need to buy a new evening clutch and a cross-body bag. I woke up on Thanksgiving morning and found these on the bed :). I love my husband.

14. Good Morning Ladies! DH and I just got back from our Allure cruise/baby-moon, and we had a wonderful time. I started a photo review in the Royal forum, there's a link to it in my signature.

In any event, I feel like we had a maternity shoot on formal night! Love these photos:
