  1. Back in March of 2017, we were one of the first to book the upcoming July 1 Journey Norway & Midnight Sun.  Although high priced, I booked at a price and category (V2) I would be comfortable with.  When one of promotions was posted, we were able to save almost $2,500 (we are in the US).  I continued to check prices and availability only up to the date my final payment was made.  Once I made my final payment, I had no interest in seeing if the price went any lower.  If someone else got a better price than I did, good for them.  I'm happy with what I got.

  2. Bid ranges must be for different depending on cruise.

We’re in a V2 for the July 1 Norway and Midnight Sun.

    Offers ranged per person . . .

from $4,600 (weak) to $7,100 (strong) for a Club World Owners Suite

from $3,900 (weak) to $6,600 (strong) for a Club Ocean Suite

from $3,100 (weak) to $5,100 (strong) for a Club Spa Suite

from $200 (weak) to $2,000 (strong) for a Club Continent Suite

  3. Regarding a TA holding payment . . . That may be the reason for some, but I finalized my payment for the July 1 cruise in December.  I have the final payment confirmation statement from Azamara.  I also still receive the "not eligible" dialog.  Having submitted my original LCV Upgrade request in April of 2017 under the previous program, I don't think I'm going to participate in a bidding war.

  4. Does Azamara allow power strips to be brought on board?  Royal Caribbean confiscates them at boarding to be returned upon disembarking.  On my last RC cruise (December), my checked bag was held until I went down to reclaim it.  Their scanning saw my power strip, along with dozens of others, which were being held.

  5. I just checked the current excursion brochure for Norway & Midnight Sun (July 1 on Journey), and compared it to the excursion brochure I downloaded less than a month ago.  All of the bike excursions have been removed.

  6. Denise . . . The “Journey 1 July 2019” Google spreadsheet you created is view only, so others cannot change what you have created.  I can read that file fine on all of my Apple products (MacBook Air, iPad, and iPhone).

  7. I followed the link in the post from the Azamara & LCV Emails topic and received the error message below.  I had not previously submitted the survey.

If you previously submitted an upgrade request and your booked voyage departs before June 30th, you will be placed on an additional priority status.

Bonnie . . . not to be argumentative, as I highly respect you and appreciate everything you do for all of us participating in these forums, but your initial response on this thread included the above.

  9. Not that I was counting on an LCV upgrade for our July 1, 2019 cruise (chances were slim to none) . . . but having booked the cruise, and having applied for the LCV upgrade over two years before departure, the new cut-off date for LCV "additional priority status" eligibility is 1 day prior to our departure.

  10. Our experience was different.  We booked when the July 1 Norway & Midnight Sun was first posted in March of 2017 in a V2 cabin on deck 7.  Our TA changed our reservation when the BOGO50 was announced, and we saved $2,500 (and kept our initial booking benefits).  It wasn't "bogus" for us!

  11. My revised booking dated December 11, 2018, taking advantage of the BOGO-1/2 promotion (and saving us $2,500) for our July 1, 2019 Norway cruise, has the same Reservation ID (Booking Number) and Issue Date as my original booking on March 29, 2017.

I am in the US and booked through my TA, not onboard.

  12. I'm not sure if it was posted on this forum or another Azamara forum topic, but someone had questioned rebooking their cruise using a promotion and whether they had to reapply for the LCV Upgrade. Yesterday, I sent an email with that question to Sandra (LCV Ambassador) and received a reply today.

"Thank you for your email. I am more than happy to clarify that for you and others on the Cruise Critic Forum. If you change your promotion to one of our marketplace promotions it will not affect your spot in line for the upgrade, meaning you do not need to submit a new request. Since your booking number stays the same, your spot in line will remain the same from the moment you submit it originally.”

    Hope that clarifies the subject!

  13. Several financial institutions offer reimbursement of all (domestic and foreign) ATM fees.  I always use an local bank ATM upon arrival at a foreign airport. The exchange rate is usually the best, and I have all fees automatically added back into my account.
