  1. On the Journey now, and there is no shortage of wine. So far, each night's selections of both whites and reds have been very good. Waiters and assistant waiters in the restaurants, and servers in the lounges have made sure that our glasses are never empty. I've had to cover my glass from time-to-time to prevent my "losing track" of what I have had. A little off topic, but I want to thank Michael (bartender) in The Living Room. My wife loves spicy drinks. Our first night in the Living Room I asked Michael if he had any jalapeño for her drinks. He didn't, but said he will try to get some and to come back after dinner. He's had jalapeños every day since.

  2. Transfering 600+ guests to the MONA (Museum of Modern and New Art) was a feat in itself, but the concert presented by Mark Vincent was a truly extraordinary experience. The former winner of Australia's Got Talent mesmorized us with beautiful reditions of operatic and theater classics. Three standing ovations . . . three encores . . . it was truly an AzAmazing Evening.

  3. Would the credit for LCV minutes be applied if one of the "More to Love" packages is purchased (we had to purchased it as the free "More to Love" was offered long after we booked)? Unlimited internet access is included in the packages.

  4. Back in December of 2014, we booked the February 19, 2017 (just 4 months to go) Australia & New Zealand cruise. This was long before the Perry Golf option (in my opinion, very expensive) was added. Our booking was at a significantly lower price than the cruise is today. I could be wrong, but I don't think the number of golfers will interfere with our enjoyment of the cruise. There are many areas to go to if one area is closed for a special golfer's event.

  5. Here's what it says . . .

"You will be asked to provide the lower cruise fare and/or the Added Value offer (the "Requested Savings") as found on the Azamara Club Cruises website. The Requested Savings must be available for booking or redemption at the time that Azamara Club Cruises reviews the Claim Form submitted (usually within 48 hours from receipt of submission). Azamara Club Cruises will verify the extent to which the booking is eligible for the Requested Savings."

The way I read it (and I may be mistaken) is that the lower fare or promotion must be available when Azamara reviews your claim form, not from the time you book your cruise. In other words, you can't wait until the offer is no longer available before submitting your claim.

If it were only within 48 hours of booking your cruise, the Best Price Guarantee web page would be very misleading.

  6. Here's the statement from the web page regarding what happens after final payment . . .

"For a Request Submitted After Final Payment:

Request for a lower cruise fare: We will apply an onboard credit for the amount of the price difference.

Request to add or change a promotional offer:

We will adjust the cruise fare to the current available rate and provide an onboard credit for the difference in price and apply the new promotional offer to your booking."

  7. No where on the web page does it mention a 48 hour timeline. It specifically states how it is handled if your request it before your final payment is due or how it is handled after your final payment is due.

Maybe Bonnie or someone up-the-chain can address this.

  8. I have seen many cruise companies do this, so you will soon run out of ships to cruise on. It's part of the cruise business: you represent one cabin and will probably accept the offer to switch to a different cruise; a charter means sale of 100% of the cabins. The worst situation is a partial charter of 1/3 or more of the cabins -- you pay full fare but don't get to use large parts of the ship when they are reserved for charter activities -- so I would rather Azamara cancel me out than subject me to that :)

This situation raised by Jazzbeau has me concerned about a cruise next year. We had booked the 2/19 Australia & New Zealand shortly after it was offered. Subsequently, it has been advertised as one of the PerryGolf cruises (golf at an additional fee). My concern now is that parts of the ship may be at times for use only by those participating with PerryGolf.

Bonnie . . . do you know what the situation may be?

  9. The way it was explained to me by an Azamara rep is that the original packages (with the complimentary Like package) are available for specific cruises only. The packages starting at $700 for the Like package can be purchased for any cruise. You also have to look at the current price compared to your original booking price to see if rebooking would be a savings.

  10. The list published by the Port Authority of New South Wales on November 3, 2014. It indicates all docked cruise ships from November 2014 through January 2021. Some of Azamara’s dates are listed as being at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, while others are listed as being at the White Bay Cruise Terminal (near nothing!). We’re booked on the Journey for February 19, 2017. It’s listed as being at the White Bay Cruise Terminal.

  11. Andy,

I follow most of the Azamara threads, but usually don't post. Your posts are fantastic! Our first Azamara cruise is still over a year away (Australia & New Zealand), but your posts (and others) make me more anxious every day. Thanks again for what you have done . . . and what I know you will continue to do.
