  1. If it is a connection, you will already be checked in for your next flight (and most likely you won't even see your luggage), with your boarding pass in hand. Thus, you should merely need to clear security and whatever procedures are in place at AMS (those that have flown thru AMS can give more details) and go to your gate. I would probably arrive at around 6-6:30 for an 8 am departure.

I figured we would not see our checked bags....will make sure we have everything we need in our carry ons....

This is our first international flight....

Our AA card gets us in their Lounge at a discount price...do I have to be flying with them to use that perk? (anyone know? )

Thanks for all the help so far :-) :-)

  2. We have a 12 hour layover in AMS on our way home from our cruise. (From ATH to DTW)

We thought it would be neat to see a little Amsterdam after spending a few days in Athens before coming home.

    My questions are:

Do we have to return to the airport 3 hours before this leg of the flight?

We land at 2000 and depart 0800. We have a hotel right now, but if we explore til midnight that only gives us 5 hours or so to sleep. If that is the case I am exploring the option of going back to the airport to crash in the Sky Club.

Which brings me to my next question. We are flying Delta but I was wondering if I can get into AA Sky Club (because of the airlines credit card)?

Do we need anything besides our passports to go out and explore AMS?

    Thank you so much!

  3. I have been able to use the casino rate several times. I wanted to book a cruise in November or December of 2016. No promos are available.

I know they are not on every cruise ( I must be picking the wrong sail dates) and are capacity driven.

My question is am I trying to early or are am picking the wrong dates? I hate I can't check online for the rates anymore.

The latest I have a cruise booked with the casino rate is July 2016, anyone able to get the rate past July?

    Thank you very much :-)

  4. I was exploring my pre-cruise emails for my cruise next April (2016) For the Regal (Found under Boarding Pass & Docs scroll to the bottom)

and this was in the email

I did not see it for our Royal July 2016 sailing emails

  5. Hi...

I am looking to book in April 2016 also...

Hilton properties are still working on releasing rates for next year...Embassy is only listing the rack rate right now (no discounts are available AAA, AARP/ Gov) ...some properties have not even released rooms yet so they say no rooms available...

Keep checking over the next few weeks and I bet you will see better rates :-)

I am checking too...I will come back and let you if I see the other rates become available...

I have been an early planner and have noticed this pattern with Hilton :-)

  6. On on cruise, our TA was able to get Princess Air airfares over $100/person cheaper than we saw on line and we were looking at the same time. We took his fare.

I gotten airfare cheaper by calling Princess vs just booking it online. Sounds like it is better to call someone :)

  7. Oh thanks. Does this require me to take the souvenir tumbler everywhere to have it filled or to I get some type of sticker on my card??

I love the soda & more...I get smoothies...Ask for the Princess Smoothie and milkshakes from scoops :-)

No need to cart the tumbler around...just show your card!

  8. We took a Thanksgiving cruise where roughly half the pax on board were children. It wasn't totally bad. So, when we got a good deal on last week's cruise, dead smack in the middle of spring break season, we didn't think much of it.

    Oh boy.

It's like parents get on cruises and say, "Bye kids!" They were everywhere! Unattended, unsupervised and out of control. There was one little boy who just had that menacing brat look on his face all of the time. He was wearing a hat every time I saw him and his favorite game was, run up and down the stairs and press the elevator button on each floor. One day, on our way up to Lido, we stopped at every single floor. When the doors would open up, we'd see this kid huffing up the next flight of stairs as fast as he could.

We were in the art gallery auction. A man behind us had a walkie talkie with him, very rudely communicating with his children (instead of stepping away-- he wasn't bidding). Eventually, the kids came and found him where they proceeded to talk loudly for most of the duration of the auction.

There was a group of kids on balloon drop night who managed to get ahold of some of the balloons. They brought them into Princess Theater and proceeded to pop them in attempt to startle a room full of people.

I was just astounded at the lack of discipline and supervision I witnessed. Bad things happen to kids and even adults on cruise ships and on the islands. I sat in a hot tub with a big group of teenagers and they told me their parents had let them roam the islands alone. Guess nobody watches the news.

Sent from my SM-G900V using Forums mobile app

I bet those are the same pack of kids that came into the theater and screamed during the movie to startle folks...

As a parent I was shocked that they were allowed to roam free during the cruise...

When I was on the cruise in December, the captain came on and told parents they needed to be responsible for their children...I was disappointed there was no announcement on our last cruise...

  9. I called Princess yesterday to buy a couple things. We have two guarantee cabins. I knew when we booked two guarantees that we would probably not be close to each other.

While I was on the phone I asked if they could sprinkle some fairy dust on my reservation and the response was well your cabins are marked "no upgrade"

I booked the guarantee thinking that I would be happy to take the cabin in the category if that is what I get but I was also saying "Yes, please" to an upgrade. (not "I only want to be in the category I booked")

I called my TA and asked to have "no upgrade" removed....they said the reason it was done was to keep the cabins together...

If I wanted the cabins to be "guaranteed" to be close to each other I would have chosen cabin numbers.

Has anyone every heard of marking guarantee cabins "no upgrade"???????

Common practice or do I have a crazy TA?
