Right now if you test positive at the port you will received a full refund. If you cancel for any reason 48hrs prior to sailing you will receive a full future cruise credit. They are even doing price guaranty right now that if cruise fares goes down after final payment you will receive the difference in onboard credit. Where else can you get all this guarantees right now.

I am having a hard time getting that price drop guarantee....my TA has called twice with me in on the call the 2nd time...they are trying to tell me that if it is after final payment, no price guarantee....still working on it but my poor TA should not have to make multiple calls instead of selling cruises....

No specific reason has been given but there could be several. Among the top would be an effort to reduce overall capacity and discouraging unvaccinated minors since guests 3/4 are typically kids.  No insides, oceanviews or any cabins on deck 6 are open to book either.

Oceanview and insides are being sold on EQ July 25th

I know there have been a lot of questions about using the app for online check-in and vaccine verification. Today I was able to use the app for what I'll call online PRE Check-in for my July 30 Alaska cruise on Millennium.

When you open the app, you're taken to the initial screen with the check-in button located at the bottom.

Then when you click on Check-in it gives you another screen with 3 options.  First option is to upload your passport and a selfie and list your personal info and an emergency contact and payment options.

Second option is to choose your boarding and health screening time.  There was ONE option to choose, 3:00-3:30 pm.

Third option is to complete your health screening.  As you can see from the screenshot it is grayed out and will have to be completed the day before the cruise.

It generated an express boarding pass with a barcode.

It did NOT ask me to upload a copy of my vaccination card, but I know I won't be boarding without it.

I know Celebrity is working on something with the IT dept to help expedite this, but I'm on one of the early cruises out.

Hope this info is helpful for some of you.

Thank you for the screen shot.....I kept looking for "check in" in the App and I am pretty tech savvy...I felt silly not being able to find it....now I know it is not in my app yet....lol....I feel better

Here are some other highlights from the evening.

Sail-away was listed online as 10pm. Once we boarded “All Aboard” was listed in “Celebrity Today” as 9:15 and in actuality we pushed back from the pier at 8:40. So plan your dinner reservations accordingly if sailaway is important to you. To be honest, it was fairly low key with some cheering, clapping and the horn of the ship. No more than 50 people were actually on the pool deck but that may have been because they changed the time.

When I arrived back in the room there was a notice on the door about scheduling your COVID test for your return flight back to the USA.

To schedule the test you use your smartphone to scan a QR code. Next you create an account with your passport and home address info. Then you can schedule your test. If you don’t have a smartphone then I guess you can’t schedule a test and therefore you’re stuck on the ship forever.

Test appointments were on Thursday and Friday from 8am to 5:55pm. The tests were available in 5 minute intervals with 4 slots per time.

Some people have been asking about safety protocols for COVID and overall it’s what you would expect to see at home. As I explored the ship, I did find some new signage which I will post tomorrow along with answering some questions.

Gosh they are not even letting you get through the first night before they are making you think about getting off...😀

Not sure what this means, but the local ABC news in Los Angeles reported that Royal was no longer requiring vaccinations on cruises from Florida and Texas. They quite explicitly said the change was due to state laws that did not allow them to require vaccination. Now, I agree they might have gotten the reasoning wrong, but if they are right that will be a big bummer for Celebrity and other lines that wish to continue requiring vaccinations.

I am not finding anything about Texas banning private business from requiring proof of vaccines. (only a ban of state agencies and state organizations requiring Covid vaccines to receive services).

The reason that Royal went the test cruise route is cause they knew that with all the families/kids that sail Royal they would make the 95% threshold. HOWEVER they did say that they WERE going to require vaccines age appropriate. So they have done an about face.

So people are afraid Celebrity will do an about face?

  7. I am confused....I watched a video on the boards somewhere where they stated a while ago Royal was not going to require vaccines since they target families while Celebrity will have vaccines required.

I don't understand why feathers are ruffled if vaccines on Royal is optional? (That is why they are doing test sailings and Celebrity is not)

  8. I don't have a vaccine passport, only vaccine records.....

I don't mind if cruise ships/ airlines save my US passport in their records....I would mind if they kept a record of my health. (I feel it would be up to me to share each time I travel)

I would also be fine with a health questionnaire asking about vaccines and letting me show them at the port that I had vaccines.

    Just my two cents...

  9. For those who have had several cruises cancelled....how was this handled?

    Cruise #1 was cancelled

I got Bonus FCC (Good Will) and Cash Value FCC

I applied both those to cruise #2 which has been cancelled. I did not pay any out of pocket money to Princess

Am I eligible for another Good Will (bonus) FCC from cruise # 2 or since I did not pay anything else to them I will just get the FCCs back?

Thank you in advance for your experiences......

The cards you get from Allstate are sent via UPS and require a signature if it is over $500.  If it is under that limit, they are sent USPS and do not require a signature.

    Thank you for the information!

Are you stocked up with bread and milk for today?

Air Sale terms from Princess website "If you book both this cruise and your flight directly with Princess using EZair® between January 1, 2010 and January 29, 2020, you can save on your flight. Air discount is not combinable with all promotions."

No sure why they would have put it on my cruise (it has NO 2020 sail dates) if I couldn't use it....

    I will see 🙂

  12. I got the air credit added to my reservation for my June 2021 sailings....I will be curious to see if it is still there when airfare becomes available. There was no price change or loss of perks...just $200 for the both of us air credit.
