For my allergy shots, which use a diabetic sized needle, I bought a small gadget--about the size of a mini flashlight--that clips the needle part off and stores it inside. You can use it hundreds of times since all it is storing is the needle tip.
But yes, you can get sharps containers. I find the above more convenient as I can use it in hotels, etc. without asking for special items.
Thanks for posting.... sounds like just what i need for travel!

I purchased the Trolley through Royal Caribbean. We were given a sticker to wear which allowed us to ride the Trolley as much as we wanted all day. We chose to ride the Trolley the entire circuit of 13 stops and then choose the stops that we would get off and explore. You did have to get off at the first stop and catch a new Trolley, but the trolleys were generally only a few minutes apart so not much of a long wait. The only downside was if you wanted to get to Trolley Stop 10 and got on at Trolley Stop 2, you had to ride through all the stops between 2 and 10.
Thank you for the update!!

I've been looking at the John Hancock travel insurance, does anyone have any experience with them?
They have a Primary medical, and decent amount of coverage and good evacuation/repatriation cover too, it seems much better than Princess and about the same cost.
I just picked up a policy from John Hancock....you are right they have much higher limits then our usual Princess policy. This trip we are on Celebrity and I didn't really care for their policy available. So, after a bunch of research I bought the John Hancock policy with an added cancel for any reason policy.

This will be my first cruise with my wife and son from Cleveland, OH. We book the 7 day cruise through costco travel on Norwegian Bliss with ports in
Seattle 5PM
Juneau 2:30 - 11PM
Skagway 7:00AM - 8:15PM
Glacier Bay
Ketchikan 7:00AM - 1:15PM
Victoria 8PM - 11:59
Seattle 6AM
We haven't book any excursions yet and was wondering if we should do that once on the ship or better to do that in advance? What should we do any ideas or must do's? I put together a trip board on trip advisor that can be seen here https://www.tripadvisor.com/Trips/83998002. I think that zip lining would be fun as our family really enjoys that. My wife would like to try dog sledding but don't know if it would be worth the money or not.I want to make the most out of this trip because don't know if we would ever get back but don't want to break the bank either. Another question I have is I arranged for transportation through the cruise line to the docks and they took my money and sent me a deviation. They didn't give me any other instructions will they be waiting for me when I get off my flight? How will I find them? We also have a tight timeline on departure I booked our flights according to cruise line guidelines but they are the bare minimum. On the return flight flying home will they debark us in order of priority to make our flight, again they are transporting us to and from the docks to airport. Booking and trying to figure this vacation has been a fun but daunting task for someone who has never done this before. Thanks in advance Paul.
Keep in mind....the minimum required boarding time for the Bliss in Seattle is 2 hr before departure.

can you walk to fisherman wharf for the ship?
Yes, it's about a 10 minute walk along the waterfront on Dallas Rd just outside the port gates.

We've done the tour twice. ...lots of fun.

Can't wait for more info. I've been watching for reviews

Exit 191 (north Melbourne/ Viera) has the most hotels right off I-95. Their is a brand new Fairfield Inn...also Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, and remodeled La Quinta. There is a ton of restaraunts and Walmart and Target for last minute items.

I've been able to do a secure booking online in the past with KS Watersports . They are the jet ski vendor right at the dock next to the cruise ship.

The above pics are form just off the hiking trail in the Sitka national Park.

We were considering walking to the Raptor Center and throughout Sitka National Park and take transportation to Fortress of the Bears. Do you recommend to stop at any of the places you visited?
If you use the All Trails map you will walk past the Baranof Historical Site and a beautiful Episcopal church on the waterfront and have a chance to get some great pics. I think you should have a pretty full day of walking and if you follow that map you will see lots of amazing views. https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/alaska/sitka-walking-tour-crescent-harbor-to-the-raptor-center?ref=sidebar-view-full-map

We walked all of Sitka. We started at St Michael's Russian Orthodox church then headed off along Lincoln St to Baranof Castle State Historical Site followed by continuing along Lincoln St to Sitka Sound Science Center and finishing at the Sitka National Park. It is a trek, but beautiful views.

You might want to compare the jetski tour at the Dockyards to the one at Somerset Watersports. The second is a 15 minute taxi ride and has been recommended by many CC writers. And they will pay for your taxi ride to get there.

We have done both. The one at the dockyard is very convenient. Yes, Somerset covers your cab to them....but the savings are wiped out by the return taxi cost you have to pay on your own. We tend to like the earliest jet ski slot in the morning as it usually has fewer riders making for less lost time teaching them how to follow along.

We are looking at Yukon Bus/Rail 6 1/2 HR tours and there are 3 companies that get good reviews, Dyea Dave's, Frontier and Chilkoot tours. Which is best and also better to do train up and bus back or opposite? Any help will be appreciated.
We've been to Skagway 6x. We have used Dyea Dave's and Chilkoot....honestly I really didn't prefer one over the other. Both were great tours.

We are on that May 9th Celebrity Cruise out of Vancouver as well. I am glad to hear that we shouldnt really miss much early in the season. No one mentioned whales in this thread. We have a Whale watching tour planned in Icy Strait. Will the whales be there by mid May?
It is whale migration season in May and June. So, spend as much time on deck while cruising and you may have a couple surprise visitors near the ship. Two years ago we were in Juneau on Mother day for a whale watch excursion. 4 hrs on the water...not one humpback whale....but we had a surprise as we were
heading back to the marina.... a pod of Orcas!

There is not a dedicated lounge for Platinum/Elite. There is a dedicated space for full suites passengers. Platinum/ Elite have a nightly cocktail time. It is held it is normally held at Club 6 on the Royal. It is not an all-day dedicated lounge the hours and location will be on a card in your stateroom.

We converted all our bookings to 7:15....I guess the upside is dh can grab some nachos and enjoy some balcony time before getting ready for dinner.
Diamond Princess passenger "tested positive for Wuhan coronavirus"
in Princess Cruises
Posted · Edited by Magellan321
These poor people need a solid plan to get healthy and home! This is not a failure on the part of Princess, but on the Japanese version of our(US) CDC setting the procedures to be followed. Japanese authorities taking 2 weeks to test is simply at best was a gross misstep that now has a floating city of medical prisoners living in fear and chronic stress. Granted, this has been a fast moving situation that I have no doubt has authorities stretched beyond thin and overwhelming the medical community attempting to provide a way to stop the spread of this virus. I hope and pray that the UK makes some swift decisions and forces the issue to get these poor people to safety as well as the countries of all the remaining foreign nationals aboard the Diamond. This is no longer a regional issue but a global issue.
