  1. What would be the best/easiest route to walk to Pike's Market from the ship's terminal (Princess -- this month) to avoid a bunch of stairs? I see the google route takes Lenore Steps but I'm not sure if there is an elevator there? Any suggestions? It looks to be less than a mile walk.

Are you docking at Pier 91 Smith Cove or Pier 66 Bell St? I have cruised out of Seattle 3 times in the last 6 yrs on Princess and once on Holland and we were up at Pier 91 no where near Pike's Market. Hope you get Pier 66...but i would definitely check.

  2. if ANTHEM is the only ship in that day it is likely they will park at Terminal 1, RCL's "main" terminal ......

In 2015, Anthem docked at Terminal 6 and Terminal 1.

As others stated and pending ship traffic, Terminal 1 is the most likely because it is the "home" of RC at PC.

From terminal 1 it is 1.7 miles to reach the Jetty Park beach (not the park entrance).

Uber is available and also the trolley covehopper, a free service but donations most welcome.

Thank you....I knew i was not losing my mind.

  3. I think you are talking about where the Grandeur of the Seas docks. You can see Jetty Park from the top deck of the ship. I don't think that the Anthem will dock here. If anyone knows for certain where the Anthem docks, please let me know.

Actually the Granduer is CT3 directly to the West of Jetty Park in the first ship position adjacent to Jetty Park and the new public boat launch . CT1 is where you will be if you are not in Port with Oasis directly to the east of the Cove Restaurant row where the new cruise terminal was built last year. If Oasis is in they will most likely put you in the west turning basin. If you end up at the west turning basin at CT6 you will need to cab to Jetty.

  4. We would LOVE for Princess to go back to Bermuda!! Took our last two on Celebrity and loved it.....but I would love to be able to go with Princess. We docked this last time on the Summit with the Breakaway. Yes, the first morning there were lines to get on buses....but by lunch it was supper easy to get around and we love the two overnights in port.

  5. A new zip line / adventure course is set to open 1 Sept near Port Canaveral.

Similar to Tree Top Trek at Brevard Zoo, this is closer ... between Dollar rental car location, and the old location for Enterprise on A1A.

Adult fee is $45, 7 thru 15 $35, 5 and 6 $25 .... as I read the site a ticket is good for 2 hours but I may be interpreting this wrong and 2 hours is estimated time to complete ....

no reviews it is not open to public yet .....

Walked over from Sun Seed Co-op this morning....place looks amazing

  6. Someone correct me but it looks like this storm is headed towards Bermuda. Maybe the advice might be to get to FL a day early depending on all the factors.

There are currently 2 systems in the Atlantic. Gaston is headed toward Bermuda. Invest 99 is be watched and will be updated today is the storm that is concern for Fl.

  7. THANK YOU!! It is very nerve-wracking when you do not know what to expect. Glad to know they will accomodate us . Set to leave Sunday and invest 99l is a concern.

Check your travel insurance and keep checking your airlines website for any possible changes to flight schedules as this system approaches us. I will say this ....many years ago we were in Bermuda with Celebrity during a hurricane...I felt totally safe.

  8. you want 'good places' or the standard fare

what's been mentioned so far are the standard port places. Decent but nothing special. I like grills, but not for "a night out"

for better dining consider (assuming you'll have a car or willing to pay taxi/uber)

Fat Snook http://www.thefatsnook.com/ good enuf to get Emeril to stop by ... A1A near Patrick AFB

Heidelberg https://heidelbergcocoabeach.com/ been here long time and always at the top of local "best" lists, attached Jazz Club for entertainment after dinner; downtown Cocoa Beach

ULYSSES PRIME STEAK HOUSE http://ulyssesprime.com/, "Historic Cocoa Village"

if you stay in the port, go to grills for the lion fish .... I prefer it as an appetizer but you can get that way or as dinner. As an app' you just get the fish .... leaving room for something else. If not familiar, lion fish is an invasive species decimating the sport fishing and Carib' sport diving industries as they eat EVERYTHING and nothing seems to eat them! Sport divers are encouraged to take them (spear, they won't take a hook) and it has been discovered that they are tasty! A nice mild white flaky fish .... grills prepares the whole fish with an oriental glaze ....

I always forget about Heidelberg! Haven't been in a long time....I think I know where I'm going this weekend!:)....thanks

  9. In Port Canaveral the only place i would really suggest is Fishlips. If you like Thai food....Thai Thai just outside the port is a solid choice. About 20-25 minutes south an A1A if you want a real "foodie" meal...The Fat Snook. If you are looking for a solid seafood meal but not picky about location....Jazzy's Mainely Lobster down A1A in the heart of Cocoa Beach(keep in mind...not fancy but not cheap...sorta cross between seafood shack and eclectic local place that when my hubs was a boy...was a gas station!). I am a transplanted New England girl....so give me a lobster roll and onion rings and I'm golden!

  10. I'm interested in what you say too! I've never booked with them before, but I have booked with a couple of the ones in that area. Are they the same as park port canaveral? they look like they're in a different location. not sure that their advertised distance from the port is accurte, but honestly it doesn't make too much of a difference as long as you get there early enough.

Last week, I booked with these guys: www.lotsofhonor.com and they were really cheap and the people were awesome! I hated the company that used to be in their location, but now I'm really happy these guys are doing well and are giving a new name for that place. Definitely check them out for the future.

Again, let us know about go port canaveral, that's a great deal! hope they keep it around for me to potentially try it.

Lots of Honor is a great community based group working toward helping our vet community. I would say more like a 15-20 minute ride from the port....but that being said...if you are looking to get on I-95 quickly it's great! They take great pride in providing service and building repeat customer business.

  11. Thank you, we are flying southwest so I considered sending our luggage with the 5 arriving the day before and only backpacking on the plane. Most shuttles pick up by noon at least sas does. I just wasn't sure if I should try to uber to their hotel or hotel shuttle or just send them on their way and go straight from airport to port.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Go directly from FLL to the Port of Miami....do not waste any time. If you really must embark together....have your family meet you at the airport and transfer together from there. Good idea to only backpack on the plane...you really don't have time to wait for bags on Christmas Eve.

  12. I have a rental reservation at National. For now, the plan is to wait and see. I'm thinking that I can walk from the terminal to the rental office if need be. I'm hoping some people will come along with some experience with this location.

I'll be on the third Oasis sailing out of PC, so hopefully will also hear something about that experience after the first group comes back.

It's not a bad walk. Just stay on Mullet Rd passing the Exploration Tower and the it's all nicely paved.

  13. That's a reasonable assumption, but if you google their phone number, you'll find several websites with the same phone number. And this review- https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g34574-d6208147-r293420309-Port_Canaveral_Pier-Port_Canaveral_Brevard_County_Florida.html

The reason I said it is their name is because it is what appeared on my expense account card. I wouldn't be shocked if they have multiple company names under the umbrella of Travel Sanford.

  14. I made some calls and got some additional information. There are at least three shared shuttles from the Port to Sanford Airport. Here is the information I found for others that may need it:

Cocoa Beach Shuttle- $98 for 2 plus 20% gratuity. Shuttles scheduled for 7:45 AM and 9:45 AM.

Travelynx, acquired by Stylus- $80 for 2, no mention of gratuity. They have a greeter at each ship and shuttle departs at 8 AM.

Travel Sanford Airport Shuttle, $30 per person, 8:30, 9:45 11:45 AM. There seems to be very little feedback on this company from anyone on CC, and I'm not sure what their actual name is.

I'll add more info as I gather it, including private car service, maybe it will help others. I'd still appreciate feedback on experience renting a car at the new(er) location for National/Enterprise/Alamo.

Thanks for posting the info! Travel Sanford Airport Shuttle is their name. Looks like you found some solid options!
