I usually get offered 4 tiers. For example we are booked in an obstructed deluxe Balcony (Royal class). I was offered (unobstructed) standard balcony, deluxe balcony, premium deluxe balcony, and mini suite. We won’t bid as the “obstructed” deluxe we have selected is actually not obstructed in my opinion and has an extra large balcony. To my mind, all my options except the mini suite (or possibly the premium deluxe if it was aft facing) would be lesser cabins. From an inside on most Royal class ships you’ll be offered obstructed balcony, deluxe obstructed balcony, standard balcony and deluxe balcony.

Still green for August 21. In Canada, so always pu medallions at port anyway.

@azbirdmom did a good job answering most of your queries, but I can address Aqua class. Reserve minisuites have access to “reserve” dining (formerly club class) which is in a separate part of the dining room. We love Aqua class on Celebrity mostly due to Blu, but this is not really similar. I believe there is 1 additional entree at dinner not an entirely different menu like Blu, more personal service, no waits, etc. It lacks the intimacy of Blu in my opinion. Reserve is also not “all inclusive” the way Aqua class is now. You would still need to purchase the Plus package to get what you get with Aqua class. The minisuites are larger than your Aqua class stateroom, but the balcony will be smaller unless you pick one of the extended ones. HTH.

And some of us even less. We rarely get the ship wifi and if we do we only get one device between the 2 of us.

It is better than HALs usual “Have it All” which doesn’t usually include Crew Appreciation.

I would expect to see a marketing email coming touting the benefits of upgrading the upcoming cruise to Plus or Premier with the new “inclusions”, making it clear that standard bookings don’t have these inclusions.

I’m currently in green lane for my August 21 cruise (still green today) Being in Canada we also can’t get medallions shipped and get them at the port.

Point taken. I guess Alfredo’s is the only one we go to, so the others were never on my radar anyway.

In the end, it is what it is. What really irks me is the spin on it as if they have added value to the packages and this is a great thing. Not true. The packages aren’t any more valuable than they were yesterday, just because they started charging for somethings that used to be free. At least be honest and say “due to rising costs, so that we can continue to provide the quality experience our guests expect, we are now charging for…… etc.” They must think we are all stupid. This is what the CVP I occasionally use posted on her FB page. “MORE VALUE”. Sheesh.

We had them on the Crown in July but steward never replenished without us asking (3times). He was a bit of a dud so we that that was why. The press release does say breakfast ordered with hanging tags is still NC, so they can’t be getting rid of them. Maybe they are in the process of changing them up.

I was shown a screen that I wasn’t supposed to be shown onboard when booking a cruise, and the commission to the TA was clearly 10%. It may vary depending on whether it is group space, etc. Extras may be a higher commission and I know for a fact that insurance commission is huge.

I wouldn’t pay the $15 for app activation. I don’t need anything delivered to me. It has always seemed easier to go up and get what I want. We have used RS occasionally, but mostly for breakfast so that won’t change. I guess I just proved I’m not the type of passenger Princess wants, lol.

So they see Royal Caribbean as their closest competitor. Celebrity charges more than that as I recall.

Sometimes I search in google for the topic adding cruise critic in the wording and it will bring up what I want much easier than the search engine on here.

We don’t usually bother ordering on the app for delivery, but is your take on this that after paying the $15 access fee to Oceannow there wouldn’t be any further charges to have delivery to the room as your “location”?

Hmm, my August 21 cruise on the Emerald is the start for that ship. Should be interesting.

Some include wine with dinner, coffees etc only, not 15 alcoholic drinks a day. I have an occasional glass of wine with dinner, and DH doesn’t drink at all so that would suit us. We like a quieter, more sedate cruise experience anyway and not feeling Princess is really that anymore if they ever were. On our last cruise, I was unable to find a single quiet public room to read my book. Loud music playing in all areas at all times, even in completely empty areas.

I would think so for now. They are following what other lines are doing such as Celebrity with breakfast RS free, but a 12.95 fee at other times.

On the bright side, my stock is up today.
