    I know. She can't wait!!!

To me, it sounds like good business sense for a company to allow the partner of a 'loyal' passenger to share a few perks. Creates a good impression. But then, what do I know?

Maybe if my son goes off to enjoy his perks and leaves his partner to enjoy the self-service laundry, that might be the end of the relationship anyway. 🤪

Perhaps folk should ask their prospective new partner what grade they are on various cruise lines. 🤣

I was so pleased when Avril checked in, great to know that she is well.

I think we need an annual check in for those have simply vanished either by choice or for other reasons.

I miss Harry, its been a long time since he posted and also folks like Andrew (Britboys).

Wowz disappeared, though it’s been reported that he posts elsewhere.

There are many more I have known for years who just fade away.

@jeanlyon  and @daiB you will remember some of the old faithful's  like the monocled mutineer (Derek).

Some day I will simply vanish too.

Wowzz still looks in on us and posts on an aviation forum.

He could leave her waiting outside and take a doggy bag out. She would love that.🤣

    Thanks for that.

Yes, the fifth person is sharing a cabin with my son, who is her partner.

It would be nice if she could share a couple of the perks. Here's hoping.

Just think. When she spends another £25k, or so She will qualify for a sit down lunch and a few glasses of wine.

I'll go through in Speedo's and flip-flops. All ready for formal night.

Ladies with heels sometimes have to take them off and put them through the x-ray machine because a lot of high heeled shoes have metal strips to help to support the heel.  I usually wear flat shoes for travelling because I have had to walk through the security gate at airports and ports in the past.  My husband puts his loose change, phone, keys and watch in my handbag to go through security so that nothing is lost.

In the summer I noticed that quite a lot of American men had man bags or numbers that they were emptying their pockets into before security.

Some of us Brits have man bags.🤣

We are booked on a Norse Atlantic flight in March to Barbados.

Is there anyone else a little apprehensive about flying this airline.

I messaged P&O on Facebook and the responds I received looked like a copy and paste.

"Norse Atlantic Airways (hereby ‘Norse Atlantic’), founded in March 2021, is an airline specialising in long-haul, direct flights to exciting destinations, as well as exceptional service on board modern and more fuel-efficient Dreamliners, catering to both business and leisure travellers. No matter which of our three airline partners you fly to the Caribbean with, you can expect the following services during your flight experience: In-flight entertainment A range of cabins Drink service Meal service Luggage allowance from 23kg (based on cabin class) Bonded baggage. I hope this helps."

We flew Norse to the Canaries. Everything wad fine..free WiFi.

We were on Azura a few weeks ago and it clearly states on the pool signs that swim nappies are not permitted in the main pool. Now how its enforced is another question. The pool attendants we had on Azura were stealing a wage. Didnt do much. Would tell off a child for bombing into the pool. 5 mins later child does it again and they just watched them.

Reviews in the Internet suggest that swin nappies hold solid waste for a short period, but are not good at holding liquid waste. I don't fancy swimming in a pool with contaminated water.

So do you never fill in the questionnaires they send Zapp? Fair enough if you don’t, it can sometimes feel like a complete waste of time and ink for many companies.

I don't fill in many post purchase questionnaires.  They are there to fulfil their iso 9001 obligations.

    We watched it....

.as you say very impressive ...in a totally different league than P& O for families but would imagine the price will be in a different league too 🤔

We are on Anthem of the seas in a month. A little bit more than P&O, but not much. They get you on the drinks bill though. Our Loyalty status goes up after this one, so we will get 4 free drinks a day. That evens things up a bit.

Just saw Avrils post. We are thinking of you Avril. Stay strong, we know you are.

I am sure you will find so much to enjoy if you do cruise with P&O. It’s very different to Cunard in tone, atmosphere & a chunk of the demographic but for any potential issues some of us have with P& O (mostly subjective!) it is undeniably really good value.

Now like your initial post re:P&O, we were toying loosely with cancelling our first Cunard cruise, but for us it was because of our perception of the snobbishness and the like that really dominates the Cunard online forums and FB pages etc (but they’re great to take with a pinch of salt: like most opinions on the forums). BUT we found none of that snobbishness when we sailed with Cunard and found it wonderful: nicely elevated but still very down to earth etc…a refreshingly different experience than the one the online forum world seems to perpetuate! So I think you will find any of your initial misgivings over P&O, too, not to be an issue when you board your P& O cruise.

Our friends encouraged us to Cruise for years..Gin and IT before dinner, eat with the Captain if you're lucky, or an officer will visit your table for a chat, a chance to dress up every night....not for us. Our first couple of cruises was with Ocean Cruises, then Ocean Village and NCL..Celebrity, P&O and RC are OK as you can skip the formal nights. We still dress formally when we cruise with the in-laws.. Cunard and Saga have no interest for us.

Exactly. Some are better than others. They are not all the same, they did not all cost the same. It’s perfectly acceptable to provide constructive criticism.

I agree, but can't remember constructively criticising any of them.

How on earth has the fact that you have been on more cruise lines effect the fact that i don't complain about my cruises. Sorry the word is moan. Why on earth would anyone moan about not getting a pillow chocolate. Or any of the minor moans we here.

We have been on about 40 cruises. The one we didn't enjoy was.....nah, we enjoyed them all. Some more than others. But hey...we are not at work and are mandering around the oceans relaxing.

Exactly, people have lots of diffeent choices and what they want from a cruise.

For us as a family with a child P&O only works for us for the cheapness. So i am not expecting a high level of food or service.

    You may be pleasantly surprised.

Videos saying 'everything is fine, nothing to see here' don't generate clicks and YouTube advertising revenue, but videos that say 'shock horror, you won't believe this' do.

Absolutely right. Many of the tubers are now commercial enterprises. Bad reviews get the revenue up.

I have a (15th) cruise booked with P&O and I have been reading on these boards and watching videos on YouTube which are reporting a huge fall in standards with P&O as opposed to their pre-covid offering. So many things seem to have disappeared and been significantly reduced - from service to food and everything in between.

I'm beginning to regret booking with P&O now and am considering giving Cunard a go.

If you don't enjoy it, try somewhere else. We enjoy P&O and others. Watch Utube videos at your peril.

Looking forward to hearing @brian1 is ok ? Most likely sat in a pub wearing  an

eye patch ,singing Dr Hook songs to his Mrs 😉🙃

We are having a weekend at Warners ,Gunton Hall. We were chatting to a family at breakfast. The very pleasant Father stated ' before I retired I was a plumber.' It wasn't Brian......no eye patch...no glass of voddy.🤣

Only a lunch!!!!! B******* the lunch. 🙂 3/4 glasses of wine just starts the cruise well.

After our coming Royal Caribean cruise we get 4 free drinks a day. Probably pass on that. We don't spend a lot of money to get blotto.

Having been on Britannia, Iona and Arvia for 8 cruises in the last 18 months i can confirm that  the service on these three ships has been exceptional.

On Arvia we were a bit pushed for tile. We had a booking for 710 at 8.30pm. We placed our order in the MDR and I said to the waiter ' we will just have  starter and main as we need to be out of here in an hour'. Order dessert sir, I'll push your order through'. No complaints at all from us, but TBH pool service is a bit lacking, but it's not really very important.

Somebody else used it before me. They wanted to know about the welcome lunch for top tier suite guests. Not bothered really it's only lunch.
