  1. We have booked Arvia for April. Most of the things people moan about are things that don't bother us. We eat about a third of the time in the MDR. If the wait is a bit long, there are plenty of alternatives. If the lifts are similar to Iona, that will do .If it's rubbish, we won't book it again.
  2. In about the last year of validity we check when we have a window of a month ,or so with no foreign travel planed. That's when the passport goes off for renewal. Preferably about 6 months, ish.
  3. I liked the stones. My old mum stopped buying the news of the world after they wrote a snidey article about Mike Jagger.
  4. How about the photographer at Southampton. A family who have just spent 8 hours on a coach from oop North and are hot and sweaty carrying bags with all the illicit booze. Are we nearly there yet ?...........would you like a photo infront of the fake backdrop and plastic ships wheel ?. Only 25 quid......No .🤐
  5. As are the folk who remember the programme. Sorry Brian.🤣
  6. They could always work in the office. In SWAT the police chief is about 97.
  7. I did put a laughing smiley on my post. Of course the cost doesn't offset the stress. I changed mine 6 months early as I had a few months added last time and DW will change hers a bit early. Mine took 10 days last time. The main problem for us is finding a space in our schedule to be passportless.
  8. If a 10 year passport is £90, changing it 3 month early costs £2.25. As pensioners we don't have money to burn.🤣
  9. The 50,000 post race is on. At 49,988 I won't won as I'm watching the qualifying.
  10. MB. Top tip... if you want more than 5 cocktails..order twice.🤣
  11. When we first thought about a cruise a long time ago a friend told us all this stuff was normal....so we didn't bother. Quite enjoyable now that some of these don't happen.
  12. You may find that the extra 2 months are not allowed in the Euro zone and that the validity is only to Feb 2024, not April 2024. Some companies require the passport to remain valid for 6 months after your return.
  13. We booked Arvia. 2 weeks in the med. Select balcony with £560 OBC £3200. I think an inside saver was a little less.🤣
  14. We ate in a nice restaurant in Carcassone. Yum, yum, but I did it again. Photo after the meal, but a pic of the City as compensation. Sirloin with a peppercorn sauce served upside down.🤣
  15. So plan A worked well. TBH I have no axe to grind about Saga. What gets to me is that the Saga board in deserted, so folk post on the P&O threads with stories about how superior Saga are and how downmarket P&O are. We sail on RC, Celebrity, NCL as well as P&O. I rarely see any reference to Saga, or Fred on those threads. I will refrain from any further reference to Saga and take your suggestion to scroll on...bye.
  16. Poor Teddy. We were in the bar on a ship waiting to be called to dinner. Beep, beep, beep We got up to go just as a scooter reversed over my foot. Didn't you hear my bleeper grunted this pleasant old gentleman.....🤣
  17. Don't, I spilt my coffee on the bingo card.🤣
  18. I enjoyed the 710 on Iona. The change to pulse on P&O caters for good range of tastes and ages. I guess they have the music offerings about right judging by the fullness of the venues. Don't know about Saga, but hootmemoney has a good variety. He even had Andy Fairweather Low this year.
  19. Perhaps I should go to the Saga thread for my enlightenment, but that is a bit quiet.🤣
  20. That is very true, but most of the points folk make about Saga are well aired so I get a bit tired.🤣
