  1. How raunchy does this get? I've never been, but trying to decide if I would want to check it out. I'm not a prude, but not sure how"out of my comfort zone" I want to get. Lol

They got my pruidish sons shorts off him one time. I couldn't believe my eyes. I didn't participate but it was fun to watch.

  2. Really?? If you think a notarized letter is proof of authenticity, ok. I know many notaries (including my sister) , in the end, they have a stamp to stamp a piece of paper. (also whats to say you don't alter said letter after its notarized) Not exactly fool proof by far, but ok. It also says is it not necessary, so unless you are super suspicious in your travels, I would not even worry about that. But everyone can do as they feel comfortable.

You can do as you like. I will never travel with a letter from my daughters father, and guarantee I will never need one.

I am her mother, we have our proper documents (birth certificates and passport cards) and I have every right to travel with her wherever I would like. What do you think parents do who can not locate the other parent at all? never travel? This is an all too common situation for many parents.

Since hundreds of thousands of people travel every week without a spouse/parent of their child and most don't have this "letter", I am comfortable with how I do things.

I have held for years if it is not required it is not a requirement. I have been around here a long time. I have only heard of one claim someone was denied boarding because they did not have the letter

This was reported here by a friend of the person. It was in another cruise line and I never could get a straight answer to my question about the circumstances of the denial. And the friend did not have internet access and even no computer and the friend reporting it did not know all the details. I asked many questions and finally the reporting person stopped coming on here. I watched for her to come back for years.

I have maintained that each cruise line can require anything they want to, and if they require it, it is required Carnival does not require it.

As for the child that was questioned about who he was traveling with and such, not to long ago a woman said she had a notarized letter from her child's father and her child was questioned in the same manner. Letter made no difference.

There used to be a woman here that said she was a checking person for carnival and she always asked for the letter. I asked many times what happened if they did not have it. I asked her that for a very long time because she used to jump on every thread like this and I asked every time. What happens if they do not have a letter. I never got an answer. At all. And then she stopped posting here also.

I think the answer lies in the fact that Mexico does not consider cruise passengers as actually visiting the country only as in transit. Unless you go to the airport, you couldn't even find anyone in Mexico to look at your letter.

There was another woman that every time she crossed to Mexico, they asked her for the letter including in progresso and Cozumel. Even though I asked several times, she never told me what the person was who asked to see a letter or where it happened.

Anyway, as I said way up the line, all a 10 yr old needs to board a carnival ship is a birth certificate.

  3. I've called my PVP but she is off today. I've looked at both the Carnival and Homeland Security websites. Both say that if only one parent is travelling on a cruise with a minor, it is "advisable" to have a note from the non-travelling parent.

Here's my deal, one of my four cabins on the upcoming cruise is a mother with a 10 year old. The father left them. Hasn't been seen in years. But, they are stilled married. Any idea what documentation she needs?

They will need his birth certificate. Nothing else is required for a 10 yr old.

  4. Hi

I’m trying to compare price of soda card vs buying individual cans of soda on my Carnival cruise

Soda card is $7.50. a Day. No taxes if purchased in international waters.

How much is charged for a can of soda

On Carnival ? Is there an added on gratitude to soda?

    Thank you

You do not understand the tax part correctly. There is no tax on the package at all no matter when you buy it. There will be tax on any drink you get while in the home port.

There will be added on gratuity no matter when you buy it.

  5. Me too. I've actually considered getting one to do laps with in our HOA pool because I know you're forced to use your abs more with monofins/mermaid tails and I'd end up with killer abs (I hope. LOL.)
You could save your money and just tie your ankles together.

  6. I stopped reading reviews YEARS Ago after I read one of a cruise I was on by a person that was only a few doors down from us. Every person was rude to them, no body was smiling, they waited forever every night to be served, and the ship was practically falling apart. Every body they spoke to agreed with them. I had had the exact opposite experience. In fact, to this day, that was my favorite cruise ever.

You can see the same thing here. Someone will start a thread about how horrible a cruise was and often someone else will come in and say they were on the same cruise and had the exact opposite experience.

I have learned that things that bother a lot of people just don't matter to me.

I am not looking for every nit picking thing and I don't compare but enjoy each cruise or vacation in general as they happen.

  7. I just saw that on his page. I knew that was coming, there is no way carnival could keep up with people wanting 50 or more prints, and I cant believe most would even need that many.

I think the overzealousness of trying to get the most out of the packages by cruisers did this in big time.

They are keeping the 5 print with canvas for 99--that's the one I was interested in, so glad to hear that.

I would buy it real quick if you know what I mean.

PS. I knew the other packages were not going to work out.

  8. My husband recently canceled one cruise we were planning and we were told that we had a future cruise credit. He doesn’t remember/deleted any email he may have received with information on this. We are looking to book another cruise. How do we redeem this? Can I book online and then call or do I need to call to book? Thanks
