  1. The offer doubles whatever military benefit you would otherwise get for that cruise, no matter the length of the cruise. So, for example, if you're on a 7 day cruise, the $100 OBC would be doubled to $200. There's a box in the email which sets forth all the amounts. Also, the email does not say that it applies only to certain cruises. Some people are inferring it, but it does not actually say that. As I stated in an earlier post, I was able to pull up my cruise from one of the links on the bottom of the page, but not from the link specifically labeled as "deals".
  2. Did you carefully read what I actually wrote in my post? I acknowledged Post #7, but noted that it was someone re-posting what a Princess CVP put on her own FB page which is language apparently contained within Princess's own internal materials but NOT the language contained within the email I received. The email I received from Princess did NOT have that language --- anywhere. Which is why I forwarded it in its entirely as an attachment to the email I sent to my CVP,
  3. I wrote to my CVP several hours ago and am awaiting an answer. I fully expect to hear the boilerplate answers either that it's on new bookings only or only applicable to certain bookings. HOWEVER, as I (a retired attorney) wrote in my email to him: I note that the "fine print" of the offer does not contain any exclusionary language restricting this to "new bookings" only, so, by the plain, unambiguous language of the email/terms of the offer, I am entitled to the doubled amount of OBC..." I can also tell you that I clicked on the "Destinations" link at the bottom of Princess's email and it led me, through a series of multiple screens, to my cruise. Yes, if you click on the buttons higher up in the email, they will bring you only to certain cruises that Princess is calling "deals". But the offer does not appear to be exclusive to just those cruises, as other links on the same email will expand the field of cruises. (And, yes, you better believe I took screen shots of each screen as proof that the link got me to my cruise.) As to what that CVP posted on her FB page, that may be what Princess intended and what the promo code may show internally, but the email blasted to all of us does NOT say that anywhere. I would argue that Princess has to abide by the email that it sent to all of us.
  4. I've never gotten noro in my equal number of cruises. Till now. We can agree to disagree on the source. But people should stop blaming passengers as the main source. Because those same passengers are not causing outbreaks at their places of employment or worship, at shopping malls, fitness centers, nail salons, restaurants, etc. Or even in hotels or on airplanes. So what's the common denominator for cruise outbreaks? The crew. Again, res ipsa loquitur. Peace out.
  5. Not what I've observed, including on this voyage last week. Passengers were very good about washing hands and using hand sanitizer. Crew was not!
  6. As I wrote in an earlier comment, the two most common methods of transmission of norovirus are: Touching your hand to your mouth after your hand has been in contact with a contaminated surface or object Being in close contact with a person who has norovirus infection Masks help by preventing (crew) putting contaminated fingers near their noses and mouths after either one of these scenarios, thus preventing infection and further spread. It speaks volumes that ships were not plagued by noro when everyone wore masks for covid, and that ships were still not plagued by noro when crew had to continue to mask, even after passengers no longer had to mask. As soon as crew no longer had to mask, noro became rampant on ships. Res ipsa loquitur.
  7. On how many of your post-covid cruises was masking still required for all (pax and crew), or for just crew, or for no one? More to the point, when you contracted noro, was anyone still masked? If so, who? It's relevant because I have also cruised 5 times post-covid (43 days) and got it on the only cruise of the 5 on which crew members were no longer required to be masked.
  8. The two most common methods of transmission are: Touching your hand to your mouth after your hand has been in contact with a contaminated surface or object Being in close contact with a person who has norovirus infection Therefore, actually masks would help a lot --- by preventing crew from putting contaminated fingers near their noses and mouths after either one of these scenarios, thus preventing infection and further spread.
  9. Very few kids in mid-April as Spring Break is long over.
  10. I just got off Caribbean Princess yesterday - on which I personally contracted norovirus for the first time ever in my life, which includes over 30 years of cruising, 4 years of college dorms and 3 years in the military (which included communal living in both barracks and on ships). I can confidently and unequivocably state that it is NOT passengers who are the super-spreaders on ships. It is the CREW!!! They are not adhering to ANY proper health and hygiene protocols. It was so obvious that we actually addressed it with both the maitre' d at the Buffet and with the Guest Services Supervisor even BEFORE I was stricken with it on Wednesday afternoon and quarantined myself for almost 48 hours. Waiters/busboys/bar staff are not washing hands/disinfecting hands/re-gloving in between clearing dirty dishes and then serving other passengers. It is especially obvious in the buffet, but the problem was also apparent in the dining rooms and bars. Cabin stewards are not masked as they go from room to room, and only are gloved when they are dipping their hands into the disinfectant bucket - but re-using the same gloves and rag for every cabin. Indeed, as we were leaving the ship, on a ship that was known to have rampant noro onboard, we were surprised and appalled that the cabin stewards were neither gloved nor masked when stripping bed linens, releasing whatever may be on those linens into the air.
  11. Sorry. My brain must have filled it what it did not see. My bad.
  12. The Deck Plans on Princess's site clearly show these same familiar names. Not sure why you thought they had changed it.
  13. They were all a lot of fun as Asst CD's and some of them were truly stellar. Have not sailed with any of them after they were promoted to CD's/ED's, so can't comment on them in their new positions.
  14. I've been sailing Princess for so many years, that I can say that I have sailed with just about every CD and ED, and many of them, back when they were still just Asst. CD staff: Kristoffer, Aaron, Marcus, Andi, Armando and Gary (currently between contracts).
  15. And for our upcoming cruise to Canada next week, Princess is now (as of last week) requiring not only fully vaxxed, but also boosted. If you are sailing to the Maritimes, this could apply to you, too...
