  1. I thought Oliveau was agreeing with you that Ads even in the US were saying "inclusive". I didn't read the post the same way you have but maybe I misunderstood?

I believe Oliveau was pointing out that Avoya's ad doesn't use the word ALL.

But I don't think that's who Tim meant. If I were going to be cruising with Tim, I'd buy him a Maker's Mark so I wouldn't have to drink alone. :D

  2. Cabin Number -- 4040

    Ship -- Quest

    Month/Year -- January 2013

Would you choose this cabin again? -- Y

Is noise an issue -- N

    Balcony size -- no balcony

Other comments -- great location, very convenient in both directions

  3. It would be a great idea except for two things. It's in an out-of-the-way location, and you probably have to drag your bags up a flight or two of stairs.

I did eat a lunch and a dinner there, though, and we got there by the heel-toe express, both times. Enjoyed both meals very much.

  4. I'm the one who mentioned Indian, and I'm also from Tampa!

We'll be in Sydney from the 12th to the 16th of January. How about you? I looked on TripAdvisor or Yelp, I can't remember which, but I figure I'll have some time at the airport to look again and make my restaurant list!

  5. But if any Sydneyites were to answer, I bet they'd say either of those walks is great. With Bondi to Coogee, your views will be out to sea (unless you stop at The Gap first, where you can view Northhead across the harbour entrance, from Southhead). If the timing is right for the ferry to Watson's Bay, that adds an element. You can walk from the Gap to Bondi for extra walking, or take a bus.

The ferry to Manly will give you great views, as has already been mentioned here.

I must confess to not having done either of these walks, but only being at a few points along the way of each.

    Both great.

Not sure when you're going; perhaps you've already been there, done that?? Great city, that's for sure.

  6. The freshly squeezed orange juice is a surcharge item up at the deck 10 restaurant -- and what about in the main dining room? -- but it's standard in CC room service breakfast.

We tried the baked bananas, and I loved the yogurt berry parfait, which was huge.

Mr. B. preferred going to deck 10 or to the MDR for his bagel, lox and cream cheese. If you order it in the room, the bagel is often not toasted as you would prefer. They might not give you as much purple onion as you like.

    What a life!

  7. For anybody who's heard of www.seatguru.com for airline seats, this is equally as thorough and promises to be VERY helpful to some of us in the future.

Last summer Mr. B. and I were in cabin 8169 for our Baltic on the Connie, and I see it doesn't show up on either the good or the bad list -- I totally concur. It was fine, and when I booked it, I wondered if there might be a better one, but even on board, I didn't take the time to note all these little details, that you have outlined for us here.

On Dec. 6th, we'll be in 8068 for the Panama Canal, and it doesn't show up on either the good or the bad list, so again, I think it will be fine. We were going to skip the CC this time, but when there was a nice price reduction, who could resist?

Lvr, you have done a fabulous service for all future CC CC cruisers, and the minute you said you like Deck 8 b/c of cabins above and below, I knew I was on the same wave length with you!

Thank you, and many happy future cruises to you.
