I emailed them about our cancelled cruise after getting the formal cancellation letter quoting their UK ABTA number and their terms and conditions as applicable to our booking regarding refunds. Received this reply....
"With regard to the total refund request, I've added the request in our database and we will proceed with it as soon as possible using the same credit card you used originally to pay. Since we are facing an unprecedented case and having a very important backlog, we will proceed with the refund as soon as possible. It will be a long wait since we have a huge backlog"
I will let you know when I hear anything new or get refunded.

Just got the cancellation email to quote...
Since we’d love nothing more than to welcome you back just as soon as we resume operations, we will offer you a voucher equal to the 100% of the price already paid for the cancelled cruise plus an on board credit of 200 € per cabin for a cruise of 8 or more nights or 150 € per cabin for cruises up to 7 nights.
We will email them tomorrow requiring a refund per section 8 of thier terms and conditions which I signed up to and will keep you posted.
Keep safe in the meantime with best wishes from Jersey island.....

Fingers crossed. They have cancelled but no email yet. So 90 days we are talking at least August. As soon as anyone gets a payment it will be great to hear from them.

Has anyone managed to get a refund? My cruise gas just been cancelled
-
So going back to the original question...has anyone has a refund paid by Costa yet?
-
To ensure health protection worldwide, we have suspended the activities of our ships until the end of June. Find out all the details about cancellations and how to get and use the voucher to rebook.
this just posted on Costa UK website. Details have not been updated yet. No email received regarding my June cruise yet. I suppose it is all over for June!

You cannot book a cruise in June now on Costa website in the general cruise search area. Recent change?

For those in the UK you have ABTA to help you. Costa is a member.

This is not in line with the legally binding contract that I signed. Check your terms and conditions and persue for full cash refund if that what it states you are entitled to.
They can't vary your TS and C's unilaterally.

You need to read the original terms and conditions and any special new options that Fred are offering.
Scarily I have just paid a cruise balance with another cruise line as not to do so with their terms of conditions would mean I would have lost that balance amount as I would have broken my end of the contract. If my cruise is later cancelled I will get a full refund of deposit and balance or credit voucher my choice.
It went against my instinct but in that case it protects my money if they cancel. Unless they go bust but the company is a big one.
You have to do what you feel comfortable with but I just suggest you make an informed choice.

Thanks so much.

Thank you Princeton....

Hi I have read about HOHO shuttle in Montego Bay but nothing recent.
Can anyone tell me if this is still available in port and how much it costs currently?
Many thanks...

Hi I am an oldie that doesn't do UBER etc can someone tell me if there are posted fixed rate fares to the French Quarter from the port and where you pick up taxis at the port?

Magic bag is pre bookable if you want and is circa 19 euro for up to 25 pieces. I have booked 2 bags. I have used this for tops and tees in the past you just have to roll items to put in bag. I do underware in my sink! I have a portable washing line that doesn't need pegs. It is great.
I had my connection flights to London cancelled yesterday due to high wind and next flight with availablility is tonight. Missed connections to Johannesburg and onto Mauritius. Had to re book now 1day late into Mauritius and shed loads of extra cash spent to make the new connections! Yikes! Let's hope the new plans work.

Anyone know when Costa started charging for reserved sun loungers in a quiet zone?
Just noticed it as an expensive add on in the list of things to pre book on my cruise?
Very upsetting. I have to pay for peace and quiet now!!

Ive had the meal time drinks package in the distant past. They didn't mind us taking unfinished drinks out of the dining room. In fact they gave up going to get extra wine for us and left us a full bottle every night at dinner!
Regards dress code. They are not overly formal. Just read the dress code on the website. On my upcoming 27night cruise I am not taking long dresses and hubby is not taking tux but he will have a jacket and I have a couple of short dresses to alternate with smart trousers.

It's that bad? Just booked with them. Not many deals this time of the year but they had one (700$pp for 10 night with a balcony)
Welcome! Cruise companies, as others have said, are a personal taste thing. Costa has a European feel to it. Which I like. I see you are from Quebec so I guess you are not unfamiliar with that "je ne sais quoi". Relax and enjoy your cruise.

We have plans for all destinations but we are a bit odd so itinerary may not suit everyone. Salalah my nephew lived there for a while. He recommended the hills but we may just chill at the club near the port who are happy to take cruise passengers.
Re Santorini we have been a couple of times before to the caldera and akrotiri and we loved them both. This time we will probably go up the cable car after the rush, enjoy view, do one of the great museum up at top then walk down the donkey track.
Olympia was on the list by local train which is often more frequent, we understand, on days cruise ships are in port. Thanks for the information regarding opening time on Mondays. We will factor that into plans but the websites I am looking at have opening at 8 am so will definitely check this out.
Re Petra we tried to book a cheaper non ship tour but they wanted too much secure information and there were other issues. In short I was not comfortable so we are doing a ship tour circa 150 euro on this one occasion for these reasons.
Re visas we are doing the ship tour in Jordan so hope they are dealing with this. In Oman we think they changed system last year. Last we heard and according to the Oman police site it was " as previously" for cruise passengers. We understood that was you could enter if you were only there for less than 24 hours but PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH we have sent email to the Oman visa site and are awaiting their reply.

Hi Lindy
I see you are based in Johannesburg. Very long story short we are coming through Johannesburg and onward flight to Mauritius a few days on the beach and then onto the ship. What an itinerary! I think I counted 9 currencies at least. I have a spreadsheet for my packing list now it is so complicated! I will be taking advantage of the laundry offers for sure.

Im doing this one. Anyone else out there?

If you paid with plastic from uk you should be protected via your card issuer. They will refund you and charge Costa. Check out section 75 of the consumer credit act for credit cards on sites like money saving expert or which. Regards debit cards there is another recourse called chargeback check out money saving expert for that. That is what I will do if I don't get my money. Carnival is saying 90 days delay for its cancellations to process refunds. Costa are also IATA and ABTA bonded in the UK so you have the right to go to IATA for example for money if flights etc were included.
