  1. The buses were large luxury coaches used for charters - very comfortable. If you're not leaving your car where the bus stops, why do you care? Wait till you see what Bayonne looks like.

Never touch luggage between home and stateroom. Thats why we love Entertainment.

Yes, I took the Entertainment Tours Bus from Baltimore's Travel Plaza in November 2011 and it was fantastic. The Website is www.enttours.com and they are still very much in business. They have a user-frinely website and a customer service Toll Free number 800-310-9900. The options for transfer to Bayonne are numerous, but not many are as economical as the bus. The pick-up locations for Entertainment Tours are similar in all the cities and towns where they stop.

Exactly. I know a few people who recently used Entertainment Tours to Bayonne to sail on the Summit and they were thrilled that they did. Amtrak to Newark Penn and then a taxi or car service to the port while schlepping luggage definitely isn't as attractive to me as getting dropped off to hop on a bus. Also, any time we can avoid driving on I-95 north is worth an alternative form of transportation to us. ;)

  2. Wow! Does RCI have the same menu throughout their cruise ships or do the newer ships like the Oasis and Allure have a different menu? I've been reading reviews on the RCI boards and they seem to be pretty good.

Sorry, I was only speaking about our experience on the Granduer. Others disagree with my opinion. ;)

  3. quote by Liztoybiz:

"Ok, so just out of curiosity, what do you ladies like to wear to dinner on a cruise?"

Hi:), I just got home last night from a 7 nighter and I want to be

    back on the ship:(

What did I wear? Each night? I wore a long red dress on one formal

night, a black one on the other. I wore an eggplant color dress one

evening, a printed dress (different shades of purple, lavender) another

evening. One evening was the SUPERBOWL I and did not eat in the

main dining room...dressed much more casually than normal (for me)

because I watched the game and they had a full spread in the theater.

The other 2 nights I wore black dress silk pants with 2 different pretty

    tops:)

Sounds perfect, Lois! Welcome back! :D

  4. I just booked a "Park and Cruise" package at the Sleep Inn & Suites - Downtown Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD. It is a new hotel - opened two weeks ago. The price of their package varies (Currently $119 + tax for a one night stay before the end of February) and the number of included free days of parking varies, depending upon their busy times through the year, according to the manager, Abraham. They offer free shuttle to/from the cruise port with the package. Their phone number is (410) 779-6166.

    Hi Savvy...thanks for this info.

This hotel is not located at the Inner Harbor, but several blocks away from both Harborplace and Harbor East. I believe the building was once a furniture store. ;)

  5. Pier 5? Admiral Fell? Or the Renaissance Harbor Place? Or someplace else?

We are, I fear, too old for cobblestones.

For your needs, I would choose the Renaissance.

Where there are cobblestones, there are also concrete sidewalks. ;)

We will be coming to Baltimore by Amtrak train. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay the night before our Feb 28th sailing?

    Henderson's Wharf Inn

    Hotel Monaco

    Marriott Waterfront

    Pier 5

    Hilton Baltimore

On this thread, I'll also add Renaissance Harborplace. ;)

  6. Susan, Take a look at the three hotels in the "Harbor Magic" group. They all have great locations (especially Pier V Hotel). They offer shuttle to the Port for those who park there; am almost certain those without a car could also sign up for the shuttle. Might be in your price range. Their website: http://www.harbormagic.com/

Hi John...Pier 5 doesn't offer the Stay & Cruise package.

    Happy Thanksgiving to you. ;)

  7. I do use Avon eye makeup remover, purchase several bottles a year when it is .99 cents (my daughter uses it as well) and Almay eye makeup remover pads in the am to get that last tiny bit of mascara off from the day before.

So I stick with what works best for me, mostly Clinique or Philosphy brand skin care, I use it to the last drop.

Have you tried Philosophy's Purity Made Simple facial cleanser? No eye makeup remover needed, it does it all. I've been using it for years. ;)
