So each person is already tested, and they are wearing masks.  Last I checked, masks are recommended when social distance can't  be achieved.  Thus the line is pretty normal.  Plus what guidelines are you using, the ones in Arizona or the ones in the other country?  But if it is concerning, than a cruise wouldn't be for you anyway because you would be constantly worried about people being too close not to mention, the air travel and other transportation people took, being within 6 feet also.

Plus, many places say 1 meter, which is 3 feet, while some other places say up to 1.5 meters, or 5 feet.  So are they following the local guidelines?

Both cruise lines are following the Singapore govt. laws and regulations.  As stated previously only those living in Singapore are allowed to cruise and spread in the community  is very low.  Less than 2 cases a week in November.

You keep saying an exception was made for me. I simply sent an email regarding another issue and as part of it asked about applying multiple FCC's to an individual cruise as I was concerned with getting too many different FCC's to use before they all expire. And I was told explicitly in writing:

"Regarding your Future Cruise Certificates, each one we have issued to you is in our records under the original booking number it was issued under. We are allowing people to “stack” their certificates for their sailings that were cancelled. You do not have to use them on separate sailings. I know it can be confusing when there are many issued like in your case, but we have record of all of them and you can stack them together."

    And they've done it.

So, you know, every time I see someone asking the question, I reply with what I've done. Nothing special. Just asked and answered and followed up successfully applying two FCC's from different sailings in my name to one sailing in my name.

And I'll be doing more, but my next booking that has a balance due isn't until October 2021, and I will add more sailings before then if things restart so am not applying FCCs to anything until we either get closer to that date or sailing begins and I make a booking I know will likely sail. I'm waiting now on yet one more FCC, and I suspect come January's sailings will have yet another FCC to be issued, leaving me at 8 plus one towards cruise planner purchases.

I had a similar experience I emailed RC about my payment and asks them to apply a second FCC and explained the need to do so and the representative sent a response it wasn’t allowed but would authorize it this one time.

So yes it is currently not allowed per policy but sending an email or calling and asking doesn’t hurt.  Just be prepared for them to say no and if they do grant the exception that’s a bonus.

Took a walk round the Esplanade and the casino. The casino is running half capacity and each table has less seats, but I don’t see anything else too out of the ordinary, though I don’t usually visit the casino so I wouldn’t know.

Might go for this performance tonight at the music hall, I do enjoy this sort of music (I’m a saxophonist myself) and we haven’t had it in Singapore since March.

Thank you.  From the menus you had posted it looks like everything is still in USD?  Is the casino USD as well?

I'm not sure this is about making money as much as getting paying beta test subjects.

It’s probably a little of both and the assets aren’t just sitting around. The cruises will only be half full so I don’t know if they can even generate revenue at that point.

We are on one of the 4 night cruises and it was 2350 USD for 3 adults, 1 child in a 1 bedroom grand suite, this includes gratuities.  If someone wants to compare the price with a “normal” 4 night cruise.

    For those who are interested:

    Cruisers need to:

    1. Take a rtPCR SARS-CoV-2 test (between 24 hours and 3 days before your cruise).

    2. Collected a physical contact tracing (TraceTogether) token or download the contact tracing application onto your phone.

    3. Always wear the Tracelet Wristband during your cruise

    4. Stick to assigned check-in times and wellness screening times.

  6. Booked in Dec as well. I used a FCC from a Spectrum sailing.  For a family the prices are good. It’s than I paid last year for a 4 night on QOS.   Kids sail free right now and the COVID test is included until end of Jan.  It’s better than staying home or another staycation where you have to book the pool for a specific slot.  With only 50% capacity the ship should feel empty and a lot of sailing already have sold out classes.

Here are two roll calls started

  7. Just received the following email. Probably depends on your level with Casino Royale but looks like RC is hoping they are cruising this fall.

Casino RoyaleSM wants to welcome you back to the gaming action you’ve
missed most with the offer of a lifetime. Enjoy a complimentary sailing for two
in the Caribbean between September and December of this year. And the best
part is — the choice is completely in your hands. Any ship. Any length.
Any itinerary. Big wins are on the horizon, which sailing will you pick?
    Book by ‌April‌ ‌30,‌ ‌2020.‌

  8. On the previous cruise.  If the crew did their job and disinfected the ship properly and all on board use proper hygiene by washing hands and not touching your face the next cruise should not have any issues and as far as we know they don’t have any reports of cases.

San Juan is being extra cautious since they are an island and probably have limited resources to deal with an outbreak.

This sounds to me like one of those things that when the dust settles will be a whoops.  I am sure they are so overwhelmed right now that the Prime cruise changes are something they just can't handle.  I hope they reverse it and let you all have it later on.

When this is over they’ll need to attract cruisers again and I would assume one way will be sales and deals. The other will be for Club Royale to put together some incentive programs and specials to entice people to go.  So hopefully once they have time to think about the future and a clear end is in sight of this virus they’ll start planning for the future.

btw still stinks that you lost it but I’m sure they’ll send out offers eventually.

Someone is doing a great job keeping this out of the news.

I think it’s more that this isn’t really news.  From what I’ve read the local govt didn’t want the ship to dock out of fear so they head to Port Everglades instead.  No one is sick so it’s just a reroute and their is a lot more issues in the US right now.

Singapore government have just released a statement saying they have put an indefinite ban on all cruises from & to the country. Now what? We are meant to cruise from there on May 18th...

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

The ban will be revisited periodically.

I have a feeling they will follow the other cruise lines and suspend for 60-90 days soon.

Getting back now to the subject matter of this thread, Quantum of the Seas is on the move again.  She has just left Manila bound for.....................Manila.  Looks like another cruise around in circles again.  She returns 12 March 2100hrs local time.

I saw on social media the crew was denied shore leave but the port authority did allow those that were leaving the ship to disembark and travel to the airport.

It looks like Singapore may be cruise ship friendly.  They allowed the Costa Fortuna to dock and put out this statement. https://www.moh.gov.sg/news-highlights/details/second-joint-statement-by-moh-mpa-and-stb-precautionary-measures-taken-for-cruise-ship-s-scheduled-call-at-singapore

If Singapore can work with other countries to open ports, cruises maybe able to sail again.  Tourism helps all these countries and completely shutting it down is going to hurt.

BTW a company in Singapore has created a 3-6 hour test for covid-19.  So Singapore maybe in a good position to work with these cruise lines and identify a protocol besides mass quarantines.

I can’t really say but I do know that the Cali relocation is for this year now.

    but again until it’s official...

No worries...it will be interesting to see if they change their minds though depending on how things play out on the west coast.  Also looks like Hawaii is trying to close their ports to cruise ships now.

I thought at some point that Quantum would be moved for the summer to Europe, possibly even to replace Explorer in Rome but given the changing cirumstances it looks more like Singapore is getting things back in control and Europe not at all.

I have a feeling they don’t really know.  Things in Singapore are quieting down but not the surrounding areas.  Singapore just introduced a test at check points that can test anyone showing symptoms in between 3-6 hours.

Voyager is due in Singapore soon, Spectrum is doing a few free cruises in Australia (days at see only) for first responders of the wildfires and who knows if it goes back to Hong Kong and Shanghai after those.  The way everywhere else is surpassing Singapore and if China has it under control I could see Royal going back to plan. The problem becomes will ports let the ships in?

If this isn't allowed due to link, please delete.

I truly believe every individual person has the right to make their own decision (to cancel or not) in this situation and I think it is a great thing that Royal is giving all of us the ability to do so with FCC as the option.  I know people who are cancelling and people who are still going.

The media hype around this is a little out of control.  For perspective check out this link from John Hopkins.  Notice how no one is reporting about how many people have recovered from it...

This is another data collection site and footnotes it references. World o Meters Covid-19

As for where you are more likely to catch it, I’d say around young adults and children. The data hasn’t been peer reviewed completely yet but younger people so far are less likely to get severe cases and present with minimal symptoms. As opposed to the flu where it attacks the very young and old.

    https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/are-children-actually-as-likely-to-get-covid-19-as-adults

Take a look at the contact tracing chart for Singapore.  They’ve done an amazing job at contact tracing and testing people. Over 3500 people have self quarantined and they’ve been fighting this since almost the beginning.   They have 130 cases, 27 have been imported and if you excluded those the avg age of 103 infected people is 50.

    https://infographics.channelnewsasia.com/covid-19/coronavirus-singapore-clusters.html??cid=h3_referral_inarticlelinks_24082018_cna

So imho you need to worry more about those that are sick but with a mild case and don’t realize they have it and unfortunately spread it to others.

I know. I'm assuming if the airlines won't fly there then RC will cancel because a lot of people will be flying in for it. I guess we could fly in from somewhere else in and take a train if it comes down to it.

I wouldn’t assume this.  I’ve also noticed that canceled cruises out of Asia the cruise lines are being less generous with compensation as well.

Depending on how fast this spreads now it’s only a matter of time where containment becomes to difficult and we’ll have to cope with it as is.   Look at Europe numbers in multiple countries are climbing fast.  Here’s a good site to see the reported numbers https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
