rookie question. We have until tomorrow to cancel for 50% cancellation fee. Does that mean we get our govt taxes and fees totally refunded, we get 50% of the base cruise fare refunded and then the other 50% of the cruise fare we get back in future cruise credit?

    That is correct!

Our March 29th sailing was on the Regal as well. We are going to cancel and take the future cruise credit. For us, it was just too risky at this time. But yeah....definitely a bummer.

Nice to see a company do the right thing and give customers the option. After 2 QT'd ships its definitely good to get some positive PR

I have a sailing on Regal on the 15th, really debating cancelling. It will be a big bummer to miss a trip but the potential to be denied ports or worse QT'd seems like a much bigger bummer. There will always be more cruises 🙂

  3. My niece, her husband and their two-year-old son were on this ship. She texted me at 4am CT this morning, and the captain was already making announcements at that time. They conducted a cabin by cabin search and turned back to the area where they believe he fell overboard (the ship's cameras recorded his fall).  Once the coast guard arrived to their location, they were cleared to return to port.  They just docked an hour or so ago.

She said that the captain and crew were amazing throughout and kept everyone informed.  He was a young man...this is so incredibly sad.

  4. I completely concur. We were on the 3/25 sailing, and had we not been in the Haven, this would have been an extremely disappointing experience. I have sailed on 15 cruises, and I have never experienced a worse (or more crowded) main pool area. I won't sail the Escape or any of her "sister" ships again unless I book in the Haven.

  5. We had an aft, Boardwalk balcony stateroom on the Oasis, and we did not care for it. While it was novel and fun to look both aft at the ocean and down at the activities, that novelty wore off quickly. We found that we much prefer an ocean view balcony stateroom that affords more privacy, isn't nearly as noisy and one where we can enjoy the view of the ocean.
