  1. We were able to use Luggage Valet on our March 3 FLL debarkation from Equinox with Southwest.. The cost is now $25 per person.. Worked perfectly for us. My only "complaint" was that we did not receive our tags and checkin until 8:00 PM the evening before. Spent a lot of time wondering "Did we make it ?" Make sure you keep the paperwork that comes with the tags/passes, since that is the only luggage information you will have. The tags do not have a passenger receipt.

  2. He told me to play even, odd, red and black where I would double my money in two of the four bets. He then gave me my winnings in real chips. I played until I had used up all the $5.00 promo non refundable chips and walked away with $150.00 in cash. I'm not sure how long Celebrity will allow folks to beat the system, but it worked for us.

You are lucky that 0 or 00 didn't come up. You would have lost the $20 on that spin.

  3. On our Constellation Cruise (May 2016) the sign at the cashier's window said that only "promotional chips" (not cash) would be given for OBC. When I asked for some, the cashier told me to get them at the table. I went to the roulette table, presented my card and asked for $100 in chips. The croupier told me there would be a 5% surcharge, the "boss" came over, told me there would be a 5% surcharge, presented me with a charge slip for $105, and the croupier gave me $100 in regular (not promotional) chips, which I quickly turned into $150 and cashed in. Similar thing next night.

  4. Mario -- It was late May, last year. We had beautiful seas on the way down from Cape Liberty. But, when we arrived in Bermuda, we encountered winds that I can only compare to the Santa Ana's in Southern Calif. No let-up the whole time we were there. It got so bad that some of the ferries were canceled (you can just imagine how crowded the buses got). Locals said that the winds were unusual for that time of year.

On the other hand, the first week of June was beautiful in Bermuda, but rainy when we left Cape Liberty.

  5. Also, we have never been to Bermuda and are wondering if there is a lot to do if we don't want to spend all our time at the beach. Thank you for any insight you can give us.

Here's a suggestion for one beachless day: Take a morning ferry over to St George. Wander around St George, take in the Dunking, then take a bus to the Caves. Do both Cave trips, then reboard the bus to Hamilton. If it's Wed and Harbor Nights is on, take that in, then ferry back to Dockyard.

  6. Spades, Gin Rummy, Pinochle, Canasta, or even Poker or 21. Not many card games require a director or a moderator. Why does Bridge need a director or moderator? Just got curious about that the more I read into the thread.

I'm guessing that the OP is referring to Duplicate Bridge, which does require a "director", as well as specialized equipment to hold the cards (I think these are the "boxes" which the OP refers to), special scoring sheets and some other special equipment. Most of the equipment could certainly be improvised, but a trained director is a necessity. Duplicate Bridge is not just people sitting around dealing cards. You might try Googling to find more information.

  7.

It's been so long since we even bothered to submit for the benefits, I have forgotten if they notify you if you do or don't get it, or do you simply see it on your account once onboard the ship??

My recent experience has been that you get two replies: An immediate reply indicating that your request has been received, followed (a day or two later) by a reply granting (or refusing) the request.

  8. Love New York. But Santorini and Valletta Malta are also incredible.

Have heard that Bay of Kotor, Montenegro and Venice are out of this world.

I'll see for myself next year. 😃

Does that mean you're on Constellation Adriatic Cruise next year? Which one ? We are on May 19 sailing.

  9. Thanks for the report about room 9112. We're booked into room 9110 on an upcoming cruise on the Summit and were a little concerned about noise as others have reported problems. You've eased our minds.

We were in 9110/9112/9114 back in May. Np problems at all with either noise or temperature control. Our only "complaint" was that we couldn't open the balcony dividers between the three cabins.

  10. My first sentence is totally correct. You are talking about selecting the $300- OBC in going from big to better. That may be the right choice depending on the length of the cruise. Obviously for a 5 day cruise, paying $75- for $150- OBC is a good deal. For a 10 night cruise you break even, for more nights you lose. Whether you use the OBC to pay grats or something else is completely irrelevant.

What I was talking is the other option that Celebrity gives you for $15- ppd, that is free gratuities and my comment shows that picking that option is always a losing strategy.

Yes. You are absolutely correct. I was not considering the $15 ppd charge.

  11. Grats is never the right choice regardless of the length of the cruise. One would have to pay $15- ppd for something that would cost $12.95- ppd whether you prepaid it or paid it on board during the cruise. You would lose$2.05 ppd for absolutely no reason.

Sorry to disagree, but your first sentence is not correct.

    A little math:

    Gratuitities /OBC choice

    $12.95 x 2 x 12nts =$310.80 / $300.00

    $12.95 x 2 x 13nts =$336.70 / $300.00

    $12.95 x 2 x 14nts =$362.60 / $300.00

    $12.95 x 2 x 15nts =$388.50 / $300.00

    $12.95 x 2 x 16nts =$414.40 / $300.00

So for anything more than 11 nights, the OBC will NOT be enough to cover the cost of gratuities. For cruises of more than 11 nights, Gratuities IS the better choice.
