We are out of our room by the time we have to be (8 or 8:30, whatever it is) and then we head to the MDR for a nice, leisurely breakfast. don't have to worry about lido crowds, and you are usually seated very quickly.
even having a nice, relaxing breakfast, we are still finished eating with plenty of time until debark. we've never been last off, but we've been in the higher numbers.

I've been looking at this for a 5 year who will be traveling with us in February. So much better than lugging a car seat around. It's nice to hear from someone who has used them.
yes, we love it. we use it mostly in taxis when we need to take them in the city. the first couple of times you use it, it takes getting used to, but then it's a breeze after that. my son calls it a robot because he feels like a robot when he wears it.

Regardless of what carnival says, I would still bring closed toed shoes for a 4X4 excursion. they can get muddy and rough and just being able to control the 4X4 comfortably would be important to me. I would suggest bringing an old pair of tennis shoes for the excursion and then just tossing them in the garbage when you are done. you won't regret having tennis shoes on this type of excursion.

this doesn't really answer your question, but I also have a 2 and a 5 year old and when we travel, we use the safe rider system. it's amazing and storage is super simple. might be worth looking into.

they also have them on amazon.

I’d rather a new thread than someone who searched and found a 10 year old thread to bump.
another thing that gets people all riled up. you really can't win either way

People starting new threads and asking questions that have already been asked a million times because "the search function isn't working"
um, i might have been guilty of this once or twice....

People propping or using bungee cords to hold balcony doors open...

It must depend on the port as well. I purchased FTTF a couple of months ago for my December 2020 cruise. But that is going out of Miami.
-
Now that I have the cabana booked, I am seeing conflicting info on selecting the cabana number. Am I heading to guest services or to the excursion desk to choose the number?
-
Hi all,
just in case anyone needs this info. Cabanas just became available for my August 2020 cruise, at 455 days out.
I booked it and now I don't have to check 2 times a day! phewwww

I used mine and boy did they try to upsell me. there is almost nothing in the spa that is less than $50.00. I ended up buying some karatin shampoo and conditioner and it was $45.00 I believe, so I didn't spend any of my money. the shampoo was ...ehhhh, but if I get a new voucher, I won't even bother using it.

100 days ....tomorrow, we do the double digit dance.

I have never even noticed the color of another cruisers card before. I'm just a lowly gold, but I did purchase FTTF for my cruise next December. The price was right, it's a tender heavy itinerary, i'll have young kids with me and it will be my last cruise on Carnival....before I turn Platinum :) so, i guess i bought it to see what all of the fuss was about and it will be my last opportunity to try it out.

If I am reading this correctly, pickup trucks are not allowed to park at this lot? thats unfortunate as thats what we have!
i would just give them a call and ask. the only thing i can imagine for a pick up truck is that it only holds 2 passengers unless you have the extended cab, and they wouldn't maybe valet you in that case. not sure why they wouldn't park it though.
if that fails, there is literally a parking garage on every other block. they may not valet you, but you could still get something in the same price range and just cab it over to the terminal

Missed that. One more question. It says they drop you off then they take care of your luggage. How do you tip the porters?
i think by "handle your luggage" they really mean they will take it out of the car for you, or maybe give it to a porter while you are there with them. i could be wrong.
also, it looks like for a charge of $35.00 , they will drive to the port on arrival day and you can take your own car and drive away without the taxi .

If you’ve used them, how do you get back to your car after the cruise. Their website doesn’t address that.
lower down the page, it says to take a taxi and if you park your car at their garage for more than 7 days, they will pay $5.00 for the taxi.
Departures
Registered taxis can be found throughout Cruise Terminal. There are taxi stands in front of each terminal building. The one-way trip takes approximately 3 minutes and costs about $3, depending on traffic.
We will refund $5.00 to patrons for cab fare to pickup vehicles that Stay over 7 days.

this company is cheaper and will valet you to the cruise terminal after parking:
-
it's $40.00 per night for cruises at the terminal

I second the Bonine. I start taking it the night before a flight if I have one, then take one a night until 2 or 3 days post cruise. they make me drowsy, but I take one before bed and it works 24 hours. They have really worked for me

Why do I feel sad, like MY cruise just ended.
thank you for taking us on your adventures. Can't wait to read the next one.

Oh, and for those who are actually reading this and read it thru to the end, here is a teaser for you: Chris and I made a very big decision today in Belize. I was actually excited for the end of the cruise due to this decision, and the ride back home to NC was going to be fun! Anybody curious yet?
Hmmm, trip to Disney? Making a tiny human???? both probably require the same amount of planning. 😄

Most of all, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
YESSSSS, please explain this to my husband, he does not understand it.
however, when he says something like "ouch, I have a sunburn", he turns to me for aloe vera because I bring lots of it
and when he says "ouch, I have a splinter in my finger", guess who has the tweezers. so, I bring everything I can think of.

Place besides my cabin for car seats?
in Ask a Cruise Question

there are faa approved devices out there, all of which are less of a hassle than taking a heavy car seat on vacation. The CARES system is one such that is recommended for air travel. i also included an amazon link for a bunch of others

I do not regret the safe rider, especially in cars and cabs. it has been a lifesaver for us, especially since we live in NYC. you are not required to have a car seat in a cab, and most cab drivers get a little...annoyed...if you ask them to install one for a short ride, so with the harness, it's just an extra 60 seconds and we are off. kids are safe and mamma is happy.
