  1. There is so much more to do at Caribou Crossing.

If you do the bus with Chilkoot Charters you will get the train/bus or bus all the way up there.

They serve a chicken luncheon, have a museum, gift shop and you can play with the puppies, and baby goats.  The sled dog ride is optional.

I'll contact the Special needs department for Royal.  There is a form I found online to fill out.  Did you have to refrigerate your IG?  I'm assuming the refrigerator in the room will be sufficient.

I didn't need to refrigerate as the temperature in he room was under 78 degrees.

Thank you very much.  I'm on Gamunex-C and use the Freedom 60 pump too.

One question:  Did you dispose of your syringe and tubing in the trash or in the sharps container?  Reason I ask is a long time ago one of the nurses who trained me to use Hyqvia said that the tubing, Hyqvia bottle and needles were biowaste and should be disposed of in the sharps container.  That is a lot of stuff to put in there!

Everything went into the trash except the needles.  Nurse never told me about biowaste.  Not enough room in the Sharps container for them.

We use cabin 4058 on the port side, which is also above a lifeboat. Prior to tender operations, you hear the crew preparing the boats for launching, but we were already up and getting ready for breakfast.

Since the boats must be capable of launching without power, they have an accumulator, which is topped up periodically by an electric motor. You can hear this kick in, but it isn't obtrusive and most pax would have no idea what it was.

    I have 4059 next month.

Can you see straight down to the ocean?

You will have great views on your TA crossing  on the balcony of 5111, water, water, everywhere!

The veranda is the same depth on both 4123 and 5111.  When I think about it , when we were in 4123 it was in July  around Bermuda with the temps in the  80's and lots of sun. 5111 was our home when we did a Med cruise in October .  5111  overhang gives one a little more shelter from the rain. But both aft verandas have some shade and sun , depends on the angle of the sun and the ship position.

Enjoy your cruise and please  give a report  for all us sitting at home.

Viking TA from San Juan to Barcelona was my first Viking cruise. I loved every minute of it, including 6 sea days in a row.

Looking forward to my Med and TA in December in cabin 5111..

Sorry to hear that you’ve lost your traveling companion.  Did the voucher that they transferred say it was transferable?  The ones we have (given after we missed so many ports in Iceland) specifically say they are not. DMIL has one but is getting to the point she can’t travel so would be great if she could transfer it.

His transfer was non transferrabal but he wrote a letter to them requesting the transfer. It had to be used by the end of this year, so I applied it to an already booked and paid cruise. It took a while going through different departments.

I had another voucher from missing several ports in South America which I had to book by Jan 2023 so now I have back to back.

WE had 5111 in October under the infinity pool. We never heard any conversations when sitting on our balcony during the day or night. But we had only around 300 passengers and the pool never more that 6 people when we were eating lunch  on the deck outside WC.

We also had 4123, a DV1 aft cabin a floor below. We loved that one the best , but it was already booked when we booked our Oct cruise. Easy # to remember for bartenders and wait staff! LOL and had a little more sun some days.

I will have #5111 for my Atlantic Crossing in December.  Am curious, is the Veranda as deep on deck 5 as deck 4?

What did you like about #4123 more.  Was it the additional overhang on #5111?

In response to Travelbug's comments, the train from Seward does not go to the airport.  It stops in Girdwood (45 minutes south of Anchorage) and the main terminal just on the north side of downtown Anchorage.

It should be easy to get transportation from the Anchorage train station to the airport...taxi or lyft/uber.

While the train may stop in Gridwood (I don’t know where that is) if Definitely goes to Anchorage! Look It up!

  9.  I took my walker to South America in December. A fairly large walker with a seat.

Even though it folded it was too big for the closet on the plane.  They put it with the baggage and it was there when I got off the plane.

  10. I’ve done several Trans-Atlantic cruises on other cruise lines. I find November a good month to go. I like it getting warmer every day as we come across to Florida. And, I absolutely love sea days.

Southern crossings are much smoother than North Atlantic which usually get affected by hurricanes.

Can’t wait to come over on the Neptune in December.
