Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. So do many of the kids actually like the kids club? My son (age 4) absolutely loves his sister (age 6) and there is no way he would accept RC forcing him to be in a different kids club than his sister. From what I read - DCL will allow the kids to be together in the club. So the question I have is really: How much time do the kids spend in the kids club? They aren't teenagers so I don't see them using flow rider or doing skydiving. I bit the bullet and we are taking our first DCL cruise this December and coupling it with a WDW night before. If the difference is really not there and there are things for younger kids to do, I can make it a once and done type thing and get back to RCL where my status takes me much further.
  2. I've cruised on RCCL myself before kids for many many years, so I'm intimately familiar with many of the ships and things to do. I'll be taking my first DCL cruise with my family (it will be my Kids first cruise ever - ages 4 and 6) later this year. I'm aware of many of the differences between the two lines, etc, but I'm wondering - for those who have cruised before with young kids, how much time do they really spend in the kids clubs vs with the family? On RCL they tend to split the age brackets so they would be separated. I know my little ones and being separated between two clubs due to their age wouldn't be enjoyable for them at all. On DCL it's not going to be a problem as the kids can both be in the same club together. I'm just wondering if the kids won't really want to spend time in the clubs anyway - regardless if they would need to be split or not. Any insight would be appreciated!
  3. So I've been a long time cruiser with RCL and always have managed to book what we wanted, when we wanted, etc. Our kids are now at the age where we don't have to bring diapers and all the accoutrements and now that COVID is down, we are starting to go back to cruising. Because of our kids being little, we wanted to do a Disney cruise because they just seemed to be able to cater to our small little ones a bit better than RCL could. After doing a bunch of research on the Disney Wish, the vibe I got is there are more concierge level passengers on this ship than others, and thus they take up all the reservations being able to book them 45 days earlier than first time cruisers. So my question is - by the time the onboard booking options open, will there actually be anything left to book or is it virtually taken up by anyone who has actually cruised DCL before? I'm just trying to set expectations and focus on what I can as opposed to getting false hope. Thanks in advance for anyone's help!
