  1. I have a concierge aft balcony booked and intend to bid at least a little bit to move up to Aqua. I don't care so much about the food being "healthy," (seemed plenty fattening to me), but the quality and staff at Blu were out of this world on my one previous Celebrity cruise. It's currently "sold out," though.
  2. I've only sailed Celebrity once before, so I may not know how things work. I booked a 14-day TA last night after searching for All Included cruises. The flash screen before I paid assured me that my cruise included "Wi-fi, Drinks, Tips." But when I review my cruise under manage reservation there is no indication that these items are included (I paid about $700 extra for them). I got a very basic email after booking that doesn't mention "All Included." I've sailed a good bit with Princess, and their emails and reservation information are always very detailed. I called Celebrity today and was told by the agent that my booking does indeed have everything included. I upgraded the drink package to Premium for $133, or $9.50 a day, and immediately got an email that I had the Premium drink package, but this still doesn't show up on Manage Reservation, which still gives me the option to prepay tips, buy drink packages and wifi. Why would it do this if I already bought them? I'm glad I have something in writing that I have the Premium drink package, but I still worry about the rest and will do so until I can actually see it on my computer screen. Is this normal? If there is a problem I would prefer to resolve it now, as I will lose my cool if I get on the boat and don't have things I paid for. Thanks for any guidance.
  3. I got that message last night. I suspect it is to get permission for contacting and text messaging.
  4. Princess does a couple of Northern Lights cruises every year and I am interested in one on the Island Princess in October. If anyone reading this has taken one of these cruises, I would like to know if they make an effort to dim the lights on the upper deck for the time the ship is in the Artic Circle. A bunch of light pollution from MUTS, etc., would be a deal-breaker for me. I know there are excursions to totally dark areas, but I just want the top of the ship to be my excursion. Thanks for any guidance.
  5. I was mistaken. My choice is between a studio veranda and a full one, both around the same price.
  6. I am thinking about booking a Transatlantic this fall offering low/no single supplement. When the choices of staterooms comes up I have the choice between a single studio or a regular inside cabin, for essentially the same price. On NCL single studios are grouped together and have a dedicated lounge, but I don't see anything about that on Celebrity. Is there any reason not to book a full inside stateroom if they are the same price as the studios, the the full has 20-50 more square feet? Thanks!
  7. I was on this cruise and about four days in it got bad and six days in it was unusable. For a while you could go to the Internet Cafe and get a slightly stronger connection, but towards the end this quit working. I had some things come up and really needed to be in touch, so it was a hassle. I was thinking about booking another Europe cruise for Sept. or Oct., but can't until I can know the status of the Internet.
  8. I was on the Enchanted trans-Atlantic in April. Wonderful ship. I spent my time reading and catching up on sleep, plus having a few cocktails. After about four days the Internet almost died. One could go to the Internet cafe and send and receive emails. After a few more days the ship was essentially without Internet, and never got it back, even though we were fully in Europe. I've thought about taking another cruise, but I simply can't be without Internet. Can anyone offer any advice as to where things are right now and might be for the next T-A crossing?
  9. I don't know. There are worse things than being stuck on a luxury liner for a few extra days, even if moribund.
  10. I bought a bunch of CCL $5 leap puts a while back for as little as 4 cents. I figured there was a better than 1% chance the company would go bankrupt. Sadly, I sold my last option at 31 cents. They are now at 51 cents for 2023 leaps.
