  1. I am on the 12 night Pacific NW and Mexican Riviera. They had a suite for $750pp and Haven 2 BR for $1000pp. There are only 2 of us so I took the suite! I don't mind not having the haven courtyard. I think I got an awesome deal!

  2. I'm so excited! We are going on the NCL Jewel in 14 days and I called the upsell department yesterday and no offers were available. I tried today and they had 2 offers! I took the suite instead of the haven 2 bedroom! I'm not telling my bf until we arrive at the pier!

  3. Thank you again, pcakes122! I was able to switch to an H5 closer to the elevator! Now I have to convince my sister to upgrade to the H4!

I think with all of the PT in the next few weeks my aunt will be a bit more mobile. We have the insurance just in case. My Mom is pretty good but walks very slow. They will probably stay on the ship more than not, so I am glad they can enjoy the haven!

  4. I just booked an H7 for myself, my Mom (81) and my aunt (79). It was the only accessible cabin left (except interior). My aunt just had a knee replacement surgery.

My sister and her husband and two teens have a family balcony.

I feel guilty of the haven perks. I'm sure we will all spend a lot of time together either way. Has anyone also experienced this? I wish it wasn't so expensive. I would upgrade them to haven as a surprise!

  5. Last September on the Epic we went on Joe Bananas Limo tour from Naples to Sorrento, Positano (Amalfi Coast) and Pompeii. There were a total of 8 from our ship and it was a custom limo van. It was amazing and all-inclusive. We had a family style lunch which was the best food we had eaten in Italy. If you go to their website, you will see which ships already have a tour scheduled and how many spots are open. You can also start your own group. 8 passengers were the max but you pay less pp if you have 8. (It was 115 euros pp last year and so worth it!)

    Have a great trip!!!

  6. We sailed on the Epic and the Jade last September. There was only one game on the entire two weeks. We were in the Western Mediterranean and the Greek Islands. My boyfriend was going through withdrawl!

I was also on a cruise during the World Series last October. We were in Nassau, Bahamas and couldn't see game 2 anywhere! It was Royal Caribbean and the ship docked next to us (another RC ship) had the game on the giant screen and we were watching it from our ship.

There is always soccer games on it seems. American football and baseball-not so much!

  7. I sailed on the Escape with 2 girlfriends in a balcony cabin. We asked the cabin steward for an extra chair on the balcony and he accommodated us on the first night! (We tipped him extra!)

It was a lifesaver having the extra little space it provided. One of us (not me!) was an early riser and could sit on the balcony having coffee in the AM.

  8. We are going on the jewel 9/27 - 10/9. We just reached the 90 day mark at midnight and I was able to book our spa passes! I'm very happy because someone from NCL that I spoke to on the phone said 60 days was when it would become available.

I read about 90 days here somewhere so I'm glad I checked! We are leaving from Van Couver and I thought the weather might not be perfect for the start of the cruise.

The spa pass was $179 pp. Does that include both segments of the cruise? It was a bit confusing on the NCL website. The cruise is actually Pacific NW and Mexican Riviera.

    Thanks in advance!

  9. We are sailing on the Jewel 9/27 from Vancouver. It is actually a pacific northwest 5 night to LA and a Mexican Riviera 7 night combined.

We booked it as the 12 night cruise and have the same cabin. I notice that there are 2 roll calls (one for each leg of the trip).

We opted for the UBP and are wondering how the turnaround day will work. Will our room key card have to be changed?

    Thanks!

  10. We sailed last September on the Epic and then on the Jade the following weekend. We were out of luck with American Football on both ships, unfortunately. We did get to see a NE Patriot game on one of the ships, but I don't remember which sailing it was on.

There were plenty of soccer games on! You can get a wifi package and possibly stream games(?) but there is the time difference if you want it live. Otherwise, you can get game highlights?

  11. I haven't done my online checkin yet. One of my girlfriends said that NCL now gives you a boarding time? We are leaving on 5/21 Escape, which departs at 7pm. She had to choose a boarding time of 4:30-5:00. I never heard of this.

I am sailing with a CAS promo, so I think there is priority boarding? At least on the Getaway and Breakaway there was.

    Can someone please advise? Thanks

  12. Last September we sailed on the Epic Western Mediterranean and the Jade to the Greek Islands. We extended our stay in Barcelona, Paris, Venice and drove through Tuscany staying at an agriturismo (a working farmhouse B&B). The entire trip was 5 weeks and it was amazing! Some tips I would recommend are:

Midweek on each cruise, NCL has a laundry special for 19.95 they will wash, dry and fold a decent sized laundry bagful of clothes. You would be amazed at how much I could stuff in that bag! lol

I opted for the unlimited internet for both cruises. I was just worried about my 2 young adult college kids back in the states. Although there is the time difference, I felt better just knowing they could reach me 24/7.

I downloaded an app called viber where you can text and share photos with anyone who has the app and its free! (You need wifi or 3G- thats why I had the unlimited wifi)

Don't overpack! I'm guilty of this!

    Have a great time!!!
