  1. I was on this cruise too and I mostly agree with your assessment.

We met a woman who told us she ended up arguing with one of the head waiters regarding the creme brulee being just a pudding!

I didn't mind the smaller portions because you can always get more than one or try another entree too.

The internet experience was terrible. I also had no idea we couldn't get internet in our cabins..only some public places such as the promenade or solarium. Mine kept going in and out at the solarium.

  2. What was the second production show? I think it was on Tuesday night. We had a conflicting dinner and it ran late. We missed the first show and by the time we were done with the dinner, it was a half hour into the second show.

We did get to all the other shows and I agree, they were excellent.

Believe it or not we also missed the second musical show. We ate dinner with friends we had met on the cruise and it went past 9:00 so we never got there.

gaylemh asked: 90% of the stalls were locked? Why?

I wish I knew why. It was ridiculous. I've never seen it like that on any ship. There were no people in them. I think they either needed to be cleaned or were not working.

  3. I did mention everything in my survey. I don't care that the ship is old. I liked it.

As far as the plumbing it would have been nice to have been warned. It happened at night and I'm a senior and my daughter is special needs. It would have been impossible to go to a public restroom especially when 90% of the stalls were locked. I was more annoyed that Maintenance took their phone off the hook.

  4. CTNYER we were on deck 7 forward. This was Sunday night.

We self embarked and it was great. We left the ship around 8:30 and I was home before 9:00

On Saturday we got to the port around 9:30 and it was the easiest embarkation ever. We were on board around 11. I found it very organized. Other people who got there later complained of lots of traffic.

The forwards elevators had a terrible musty smell and there was a small area on the way from my cabin to the elevators that smelled like sewage. A couple of people whose cabins were on my deck complained.

I agree about bartenders in champagne bar. My sister in law wanted a glass of a certain brand of champagne and he kept quoting the price like she couldn't afford it. She kept saying its fine.

I too had a great cruise and I'm also pointing out the good and the bad.

  5. I was on this same cruise. We did notice that a good portion of the crew was not very friendly, in fact short with people. I observed someone explaining to the bartender how he wanted his drink and the bartender said: "what are you going to do..tell me how to do my job?".

We had the flusher button on our toilet stop working the second night and maintenance sent someone up who worked from a door in the hall. Every time he finished they'd call and say it was fixed and I'd go to check it and it wasn't. Good luck calling them back as they then took the phone off the hook. Eventually I gave up and went to sleep. The next morning I got them through Guest Services and the Maint operator wouldn't even let me explain the problem. She cut me right off.

When I first saw the cruise director Keith..I thought he was so pompous. He kind of reminded me of Tim Gunn. As the week went on I kind of fell in love with him. He was really a good sport and and good Cruise Director. Although he had no chemistry with his assistant TT.

We had a fabulous wait staff in the Columbus My Time DR. They were assigned to us the first night so I made reservations for the rest of the week so we can have them. The Reservation girl was so good to us.

The entertainment on this cruise was the best I've ever seen! The magician was great, the headliner...Tim Timmons was so great that he kept getting standing ovations. My head hurt from laughing with the comedian the last night. I think his name was Kelly McDonald.

I finally made it to Quest. This was my 8th cruise and I've never been able to stay awake. But we stayed up for the 70's party and enjoyed it so much and then we went down to Studio B for Quest. I'm glad we went. It was so much fun.

The ice show was the best I've seen yet.

The ship is old and needs to be refurbished as soon as possible. My stateroom had such an old mirror that I kept thinking it was dirty and kept trying to clean it. It wasn't...it was scratched and old. It also didn't help that the cabin was kind of dusty around the TV.

I also want to say the service in Johnny Rockets in horrendous.

I would say that the positives did outweigh the negatives and it was a good cruise.

  6. I was on the same cruise. Our cabin was close to the forward elevators. We never had a problem with crowding on the elevators and/or steps.

It was my first RCI cruise and I have to say I found the food delicious. We especially enjoyed the tutti salad in the MDR on sea days!

However, I wasn't crazy about the selection in the WJ..not to much variety.

My only complaint is that there is no pen or paper in the cabins. On the last night I had to go down to get a pen in the Michael Kors shop...

There was plenty of activities and don't forget there were 4 port days! The deck patrol was just as useless as any other cruise ship on any other cruise line. I even saw a woman bring her two young kids..wearing swimmies...into the solarium pool. Nobody said a word.

The staff on this ship is fabulous!
