The creme brulee is gone from the dessert menu (at least on Apex). ☹️

My 12 yo will NOT be happy.  He was just telling me this is one of the things he is looking forward to on our cruise next week.

  2. We were in a similar situation with my son.  I knew Mexico did not have the 6 month rule, so I figured we would be ok.

When I checked in online, we got a message that Celebrity strongly encourages you to have a 6 month valid passport.

Again, while I was fairly certain we would be fine - I wanted to avoid any unnecessary hassles at the pier with uninformed staff.  We were about 7 weeks out and expedited processing was listed at 3-6 weeks - so we just decided to renew.  It came back in 3.  We leave next week.  We were going to have to renew it before our March cruise anyway.....

  3. It was available in Cruise Planner for our March cruise on Reflection, but no longer showing as an option.

However, I would be very surprised if it has been discontinued.  Most likely just temporarily unavailable.

  4. My two boys have been on many cruises with us, but this is the first time they will have their own phones.  I know there have been mixed reviews of the chatting feature of the Celebrity App - but we were hoping to be able to use that to communicate with them when we are around the ship.

The minimum age for setting up a Celebrity account is 13.  Is there any way they will be able to use the app onboard?  Alternative is to get Internet for all of us (we're not AI) and use WhatsApp - but would like to avoid that if possible.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Don't understand why anyone would transfer an onboard booking (or any direct booking) to a TA without getting something in return.  You have already done most of their work for them.  For past 25 years have received percs on every sailing booked with TA.  On Royal cruises get at least free grats and maybe a group discount, on X and others an OBC.

Completely agree.  The only reason we transfer to a TA is for the perks.

Based on the first post, I believe the OP booked the cruise with the TA from the start.

I don't believe Baron was referring to the OP.

  6. My two boys, now 10 and 12 have been on many Celebrity cruises and love it.

They have different personalities and my younger son (he's more social) likes Camp at Sea more than my older son.  They don't have to spend the whole day there - you can drop them off and sign them out when you want.  There are also a lot of activities around the ship on sea days that my kids like - Triva, game shows, etc.

We were on the Oasis in March and we asked the kids if they wanted to do it again next year.  They both loved it - but still decided to do Celebrity next March rather than the Oasis  because they didn't want to the exact same itinerary again and are super happy on Celebrity.

Obviously all kids are different.  I expect some might not be happy on Celebrity - but the kids program is great and their are other options as well.  I'm sure they will have a great time.

If you have an unusual coffee order the first day you will be offered the same for the next 11 days (whipped cream atop my espresso).

    That's my favorite part - especially when I am on a 7 night cruise😁.

Did you try the sequence in the Video on the Ships Remote.     Personally I have found that the old way of using a Universal Remote no longer work on the way they now have the TV's setup.

I did.  When that didn't work I found I still had the universal remote in my travel bag from the old days.  Just couldn't get it to work no matter what I tried.

I could have tried calling guest relations and they might (or might not) have helped - but at the end of the day, it wasn't really that important on our very port intensive Med cruise.  If we had been in the Caribbean however.....

I always bring an HDMI cable with me.  I used it to connect our laptop with our Constellation stateroom television earlier this month.

    Looks like a FV.

I could not get the inputs to change on the TV no matter what I tried on our FV on Constellation in July.  I even had a universal remote.

Yes, I called to book the WIFI and the drink package.   I had to call back as they didn't apply the correct discount the first time.  But it was taken care of the second time.

For Wifi - did you get the 30% (or 35% depending on Elite vs Elite Plus) off the exact price you were seeing in Cruise Planner?  When I called - the discounts didn't match which sounds like what happened with your first call.

    Thanks,

@mandream, call back and hope you get a more experienced rep

Yeah, I know.  I will probably ask my TA do it, but I usually prefer to handle the "simple" things myself.  Making a pre-cruise purchase is one of the few things they allow you to do yourself when you have a TA.

Am I correct in assuming it should be as straightforward as 35% off the cruise planner price?

    Mike

  12. Just had a frustrating experience trying to add wifi to my reservation pre-cruise.

From this thread, it sounds like I ought to be able to apply my Elite+ discount of 35% to the pre-cruise pricing displayed in cruise planner, correct?

Cruise planner shows 4 devices for one person of Basic Wifi to be $293.93.  With 35% off, that should come to 191.05.  I figured I'd have the best luck calling the Captain's Club number - but I don't think that's where I ended up.   I explained I wanted Basic Wifi for 4 devices.  I waited 15 minutes while the person kept putting me on hold to "manually look up the amount and apply the discount".

She finally came back and said - We have Basic Wifi - but that doesn't come with 4 devices nor can you apply your CC discount.  Instead we can give you Xcellerate Surf for 4 devices with your discount for $202.

I tried to explain that those were basically the same thing - it used to be branded as Xcellerate on the website - but is now just listed as Basic and Premium (vs Xcellerate Surf and Xcellerate Stream) so the prices should be the same.  I told her I was seeing the pre-discount price as $293 - so asked how she came up with 202 vs 191?  She simply said that was what her computer gave her and did I want her to process it....

I realize the $11 difference isn't going to make or break me - but I was just frustrated at that point with the whole conversation so I thanked her and said I would need to think about it and call back later.

Is there something that I am missing here?

    Correct , from Celebrity website

Guests are only permitted to bring alcohol onboard under the following circumstances

1.) Embarkation day when each guest is permitted to bring onboard with them up to two (2) bottles of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guest. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with the Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package.

    Thanks for confirming.

Most of the OP's list is news to me.  I thought bringing wine on board was limited to 2 bottles per stateroom, not person.

It is, but there are often suggested ways around this limitation - if you choose.

Someone mentioned that liquor purchased in port was allowed to be carried back to the room.  In the past, it was collected and returned the evening before disembarkation.

It is supposed to be collected by policy - but the poster was suggesting this was not always enforced.  Hence the YMMV caveat.

Sounds like X has changed some of its policies.

Not really with respect to the things mentioned here.

  15. My 10 and 12 year olds love it so we usually do it once or twice per cruise - this is where my 10 year old discovered that he loves truffles (from the truffle ravioli).

My wife and I enjoyed it the fist time - but like the others probably would have been one and done without the kids.

  16. I've found the difference over the years most notable in the Theater.

15 years ago, bar servers were competing trying to get your drink order.  It was annoying in the other direction that we would continually be asked multiple times by different people if we wanted a drink. Almost had to avoid any kind of eye contact.

Bar servers in the theater are now hit or miss.  On the Constellation in August, there was a bar set up at the back of the theater and not a single server the entire cruise.
