My rule is simple. If for any reason, I have to fly the day of cruise leaving, I book Flight Ease. I can count on their help if needed. If not flying on day of departure, I compare and book the best fare.

We have friends aboard N Statendam. They are astonished pax where able to leave the ship even though rockets had been fired from 6:30 am!

It took me over 6 months after many emails and phone calls to get my reimbursement. Submitted my request in May 2022 and received the check in December! Hang in there. 

- 14 day Hong Kong to Singapore

- 11 day Sydney to South Pacific Islands

- 12 day Western Med from Barcelona

- 10 day Alaska Vancouver to San Francisco

- 11 day Mexican Riviera

Love this thread. It keeps my hope up for my upcoming late September cruise to the Greek Islands so long as I get my vaccine prior to my June 16 final payment.

Hopefuly, They won’t gouge their guests. 

Same for me. Can’t find the New advisory. Their phone Lines are inaccessable. 
 

I really appreciate the fact that your loyalty status is transferable between the cruise lines. However, I am disappointed that Celebrity has now implemented a three drink limit during the happy hour. This is in contrast to happy hour in the Diamond lounge on RCI ships where there are no such limits. Add to that the three drinks added to your ship card which you can use during the allotted time. With cruise prices now sky high on Celebrity and the downgrading of loyalty benefits, I think my cruise dollars will be going more towards RCI than X.

One of the good features of travelling within a sisterhood of companies that recognizes loyalty from one of the "brood" to the other. Reciprocation between the sister companies is GREAT! You will enjoy your Celebrity cruise and your Captain's Club status.

Having spoken to a RCI rep on the phone and been told there are Coke machines, I have now sent an email request for info regarding what is the situation on Brilliance. I have mentioned in the email that Cruise Critic members have said there are no such machines. Lets see what they come up with...;p

Are cabs in sufficient supply on a day when five ships are in port? What about Uber availability?

Still no Freestyle machines on Brilliance.

Go figure, I just called Royal and was told there are machines in the Windjammer and on deck 6.

Older posts indicate that there were no Coke Freestyle machines on Brilliance. Can recent cruisers inform us if they are now onboard?

Because both cruises we're considering are "cool weather" destinations, The Great Outdoors probably wouldn't be a meal option--regardless, so that probably wouldn't be an issue for us.

 

With regard to there being no Spinnaker Lounge, what's in that area instead...?

 

Also, did you cruise on the Dawn pre- or post- its 2016 refurbishment...?

There is a sun deck on deck 13 forward. We sailed the Dawn prior to it's refurbishment.

Both itineraries being equal, IMO, the Jewel is superior to the Dawn. The main reasons being that the Jewel has The Great Outdoors eating area on deck 12. It's all fresco dining which is great for warm weather routes. The other reason is that the Jewel has the Spinnaker Lounge on deck 13 forward. It's a great place to relax during the daytime with extraordinary views of the ocean. Done both ships, my two bits...

After arrival in Port Canaveral. I'm driving to Tampa.

Holy smokes! And I have to be in Tampa before 2:30 pm to board Brilliance of the Seas. Good thing my Gold status gives me priority disembarkation.

You would think the Port Authority would try to clean up their act. I fear mayhem will once again be the rule with 5 ships in port on 11/17/18.

When we disembarked in Port Canaveral after our transatlantic cruise in November 2016, it was total mayhem to try to get on our rental car shuttle. There where no designated lines for each agency and people where running from line to line when they saw a shuttle coming along the road. There was lots of pushing and shoving. Since we are arriving at this port once again on November 17/2018 after another TA cruise, have the logistics of disembarkation improved or should we expect total chaos as in 2016?

Many posts here indicate that this beach is offered on Royal Caribbean cruises. My cruise is now stopping at Falmouth and is on the Norwegian Jade. Is it possible to go to this beach even though Norwegian does not offer an excursion to go there? I thought of taking a taxi to get there. Your insights are most welcome.

Booked an inside on Jade sailing 12/18/2017. On 09/29/2017, received upgrade offer by email. Bid $65/pp for OV and $130/pp for balcony. On 10/03/2017 received email saying my balcony offer was accepted. My bid was in the low fair area. Happy with the result especially since the new itinerary is the Southern Caribbean.

Got upgrade confirmation 2 weeks before sailing, winning bid $140 CAD pp from inside to balcony on NCL Escape.

Depends what your present stateroom is...

I am quite aware of all the damage suffered by the US and British Virgin Islands. Am also aware of the damage to St.Maarten and all other islands in the same area notwithstanding the further damage created by Maria. All I'm saying is, God spare all the Caribbean from further damage and let's wait for further announcements from NCL!

I believe NCL has already announced that all cruises to the Eastern Carib would be diverted to the west till the end of November.
