I believe it's complimentary.Do you know what the cost is to eat lunch or dinner at the Wheelhouse Bar?Edit: My apologies, I missed the earlier response.
-
That's pretty standard as folks may not have their luggage yet or have packed for disembarkation. We were on the 20 day Royal Princess celebrating a birthday in the Crown Grill on the last night and were surprised to see a couple seated by us dressed very casual in shorts. The manager said that they allow shorts on both the first and last nights. -
We don't usually make the shows on cruises as we dine late and it often doesn't suit our schedule but we do like good theatre. This is very interesting and I hope it's on the Royal for our March voyage.

I've sailed the Norway. What a beautiful liner. Classic.IMO the 'Port/Starboard carpeting is a great asset!I might add one other type carpet that I have only seen once, but it saved us some walking. The old Norway,[ in her day was the longest ship afloat] had 'Bow/ Stern' carpeting.

How would this be something that is a cutback? I'm sure the carpet is the same price whether they use the same colour on port and starboard or a different colour.Hi Mr GreenPrincess no longer does different coloured carpets,
yours Shogun
And as someone else stated, there are other, very simple ways to know what side of the boat you're on.

Why the delay :D.Yes, you do.If you wait until the following day, you still have to pay the full package. So purchase it in advance or once you get on the ship and start enjoying your benefits as soon as possible. I plan to have a refreshing cocktail in my hand ten minutes after we board. ;)

I have not cruised Princess just yet so I'm coming from a different perspective. However, I think if you keep focusing on what's missing then you'll just find more things to get upset about and you risk having a less-than-great time. There's so much to be happy about on a cruise I personally am not worried about missing chocs on my pillow at night, as an example (a constant complaint now from Carnival passengers but akin to some of things mentioned here).
Princess is a business. They have to make money so you can have a good vacation. It's a constant balancing act for them so while they may seem to be penny-pinching in one area, they are probably making subtle positive changes elsewhere. Do I ever make comments like "I wish they still did x or y"? Sure I do, but I don't let it get in the way of a good time.

That looks like huge fun :D.

Take note for anyone traveling in to or out of FLL today:

This is what I did when trying to decide. It was a bit of an eye opener .Agree with what others have said, it would not be worth it for primarily water. A good way to judge whether it's worth it is to go to your statement from a previous cruise and tally the drink charges. We did this and found it was almost the exact same cost as a package so we did the package and enjoyed other things we may have avoided to save a few bucks, like sodas, bottled water, Pellegrino, etc. My last cruise on Regal the large bottled water (1.5L) was about $4-5. Cheers and enjoy your cruise. -
Yes great news, I also earlier today had an email from someone I know who lives in PV, and while there's been a lot of rain, there's NO flooding, and manageable wind damages.. So great news !!
...
That's great news.

No kidding. I feel for the folks in the path of this beast....This will be a very difficult time for these people. :(
-
You should just be able to go online to the Princess Website and pay in the Cruise Personalizer.
-
That's too funny....must be some legalise......no need to book an excursion to have a beach day...get a guidebook...and DIY...very easy! I understand weight limits for zip-lines, helicopters, horses, etc....but not for riding in a bus!
Yeah, but some of those buses are a little, um, dilapidated, LOL.
-
Not to mention an empty cabin is one that is not going to generate any onboard spending. As you say, as long as you cover your costs you're golden from the the cruise line's standpoint.
-
Maybe due to the transportation to the beach? Even then, that still seems way too restrictive.

This post seems to suggest it was just wind for this last sailing:

Phew. That should stop the CC board from exploding :D.EVERYONE:Just wanted to jump back on with a clarification before people get upset. I went to the Crown Grill and they confirmed that formal night dining in CG is Smart Casual. I went to Sabatini's and they still have the sign about Formal Night dress code, but when I asked about it the gentleman told me that it's still Smart Casual. He said they would like it to be dressier, but they don't enforce anything. They said they don't want sloppy jeans, shorts, etc. So, sorry to pass on misinformation, but nothing has changed. Smart Casual in specialty restaurants on formal night is still in place.
Good night all.
Enjoy your cruise!

Ditto.Wow, you may have just dropped a bombshell there! LOL! I agree with previous poster - this might get some folks really riled up if that is truly a new policy. Personally, we dress formally on those nights regardless of whether we were dining in MDR or specialty, but I know for some that's a deal breaker. I think it makes perfect sense, since Sabatinis is supposed to actually be a more "upscale" experience than MDR.Thanks for the updates! Enjoy your cruise!
You could make the same argument about the Crown but for sure many folks apparently choose the CG or Sab's as an alternative on formal night to avoid the dress up.
-
I guess it's not much different from those folks who said they got extra chairs on their balcony when others were told no. Your mileage may vary.
Do you think any general statement from Princess is that reliable given the contradicting information we hear day in day out.
I got OBC for a 'new bookings only' offer on my existing booking. I am sure another person may not be as lucky and the next may do better than I did.
Moral? Simply call and ask Princess if they can do it for you in your specific case. It'll be a simple yes or no. At least we have a good idea they have done it before.
-
Oh boy, that will get some folks agitated....Want to mention that Sabatini's has a dress code sign that states dress should match the dress for the MDR...meaning formal on formal night.
I'm watching the ship on Webcam. I see you're looking up the back end of the Oasis - what a monster. Also watched the Royal leave 10 days ago. Can't wait to be on it myself in March.

Yes, that was the link I provided above. It was shogun who posted about it on his recent emerald thread. Said he heard from lots of elite folks they had traded in some perks for obc. -
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=48045593&postcount=42Someone posted on a thread (can't remember who/which) that they talked to a fellow passenger who had done just that.It would be nice...we just did a 4 day and didn't use 1/2 of our minutes.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I know it takes effort and time out from your vacation.
