My family fights over the chocolate fondue from Le Bistro

We have sailed the Sky 3 times. Twice in suites.
Our first suite on the Sky was in 9075, an aft facing suite that was a wonderful experience. We dined for breakfast and dinner in the suite every day for a week.(this was when the Sky was doing 7 day southern itins from San Juan. The balcony was huge and a true delight that we enjoyed daily for hours.
In May our family of 5 sailed the Sky in 8201. We truly enjoyed the suite, the large balcony and the hot tub. The three bottles of booze and unlimited sodas and water were terrific as well. We were treated very well by our concierge and butler.
You made a great choice and will have a great suite experience.
If you would like more pics of the suite, I have a gallery somewhere that I can post

AFAIK you can't book a specific cabana as they are assigned automatically in the order of booking, some have said here that they start from the middle cabanas and move outwards to both ends.
On our last NCL cruise I forgot to make a specific cabana request with the pre cruise concierge.
When I arrived on board I asked the concierge to see if she could arrange a specific cabana.
She could not because the tickets for the cabanas are printed and placed in the cabins before arrival on board.
She did mention that I should remember to make the request in advance next time with the pre cruise concierge.

can't see the pictures, what do I have to do? I signed up for webshots.
Webshots went out of business, thus the reason you cannot see the pictures anymore. I am recreating online galleries but unable to update links here.
If there is something specific you would like to see, ask away or email me at the address in my signature below.

Awesome pictures! Thanks for sharing! We are booked in this suite on the July 12th 2013 sailing to Bermuda. Two questions if you don't mind;
1) How was the wind factor when the ship was in motion as this is the first add on balcony?
2) Now I know this is personal based on income; usage etc. but I am trying to figure out the range of tipping that would be appropriate for both the Butler and Concierge as I know they are not included in the auto gratuities. Any help or guidance would be appreciated, as this is the first "Butler/Concierge" experience for us.
The wind did not seem to be much of a factor, but please note, we spent minimal time on our balcony as the weather in transit to and from Bermuda was rainy.
Tipping is a function of useage and perceived value received. We have tipped concierges and butlers commensurate with what we have asked them to do and what they did without being asked and have ranged from 50 to 200 each on a week long cruise. We have cruises where we saw our Butler at embarkation and never again as we had no requests, same with concierges. The ones that go out of their way to find a way to serve us somehow benefit from tips.

Zimomiller - great review and photos! By chance, do you still have the photos referenced in your earlier post looking down on the SD balconies from the deck above?
I do.
I will try to remember to post them this evening when I return home.

We have always used third party. They cover more and they are almost always cheaper.

We have cruised with small travel fans for years. They are a godsend in cabins that have poor a/c or very poor air movement.
Get the ones that have a mount that can clip on to things

I am in the same boat for our Dawn repo cruise in April. Not only does the wife not know about the suite, she still doesn't know about the cruise
I booked it in December and plan on giving it to her for Xmas. My goal is for her to not know about the suite until we get on the ship. :D
That is so much fun!
I did a similar thing for my spouse in 2003 for Xmas.
I booked the cruise a year in advance and gave it to her Xmas morning and we sailed 1/4/04 on the Sky to the Southern Caribbean. (The cruise docs were attached to a new Roomba vacuum cleaner that was hidden under the couch. The remote was in her stocking over the fireplace. She said she would kill me if I ever bought her a vacuum for xmas or her bday.) The hardest part was secretly working with her boss to get the time off scheduled without her knowing.
A week before Xmas we got an upsell from an aft balcony to the aft Penthouse suite next door for $500 total. She found about the suite when she opened the door on embarkation. Been hooked on suites ever since.
Good luck keeping the secret!

We enjoyed the SD we sailed in on the Dawn last June. I picked 12520 because it had a smaller wall and a better view looking forward from the balcony.
Here is a link to the photo and video tour that I made from our cruise:

I can't seem to bring up your pics. Would love to see them. I keep getting a message that they have been taken down. Is this so?
The web site that hosted my photos was sold and the dirt bags that bought it made no effort to retsin the structure of the files.
Is there something specific you want to see? I havethe pictures in files by day at my home.
Send me an email. My email is in my signature below

Excellent news.
Not sure why it took dso long for them to fix a very flawed design.
I sailed the Jewel when it was operational without a door and there was constant complaining by everyone in bar city

I generally take the following, all requiring a plug at least sometime:
laptop (offloading pictures, writing)
ipad (generally used to check work email in ports)
2 iphones (wife and I)
3-4 camera battery chargers
3 ipod touch
1 kindle
Now generally I'll have two ipod/iphone/ipad chargers and we rotate devices through them. I'll also have 2 camera batteries going most of the time, since we have multiple cameras and take lots of pictures. The laptop just gets plugged in as need. So really, for all those devices I really need 4-5 outlets. Taking a power squid solves for all of this.
Power squids rock. They sure beat the in line multi taps
-
What and how many things are people bringing that a lack of outlets is a problem?
I had the same question on our last cruise so I added up what our family of 5 brought along with them on the Dawn:
1 - CPAP
5 - Iphones
3 - Ipads
2 - personal laptop computers
1 - Kindle Fire
2 - Cameras with rechargeable batteries
2 - portable personal fans
1 - Hair straightener
1 - hair dryer
Needless to say we travel with multiple extension cords, multi taps , adapters etc.
Granted, most were not being used at the same time!

Thanks for sharing your pics.

Platinum Perks

Our family of 5 are all platinum and we usually all sail together in a cabin for 5 and we all get the platinum perks, except only 1 bottle of wine.
