Yep, just ignore it. most everyone just boards when it is convenient for them.

Except....I've read some posts where they were held back until around their boarding time.

And were there tons of staff just standing around twiddling their thumbs?

I suspect that they leave tables empty so that each table gets the service they'd expect. If they filled all the tables, there would be complaints about noise AND about lack of attention from servers.

I also think they keep the kitchen capability to service a full restaurant in mind.  We were caught in that one cruise when Murano was over booked (opened doors at 5:30 to accomodate walk ins/packages).  Our 6pm reservation had only 2 tables available, service was terrible and rushed, and food wasn't as well prepared as in the past.

I tried & tried to get this to go thru without success. I have friends that were successful. The price this morning is exactly double of yesterday’s offer & no issues trying to get thru today. Hope those that were able to book enjoy the cruise!!

I checked last night around 10pm and the site price had doubled for Concierge but the main page still quoted $967 (Cdn).  I booked my hold which went through and Visa deposit shows 'pending'.  If this is a glitch they won't honour I'm thinking the pending will be cancelled and will receive an email telling me I'm outa luck....👎.  Did you try to book concierge?  My 'other' site says C1 not available, lots of C2's.

We are booked also. Thanks to my friends and this board for giving me the heads up. I could not believe the price and we got one of the cabins with a big balcony

I heard from my CVP and the hold is good.  Haven't been on the Summit....where are the cabins with big balconies?  BTW...checked my 'other' source for cabins and all C1s are sold out.  Thanks to the OP for the heads up!

We were in 8340 for the TA in October.  The room is great and the porthole window is huge.  The pole was not an issue for us.  Best side depends on the itinerary and whether you like sun or shade.  You didn't mention where you were sailing.  The rail of the balcony is not private, but toward the glass door you can lay out "naturally" with no issue.

Is that 'naturally' or au naturale?  LOL.  bit chilly on a TA. 😉  Did they leave the balcony furniture as it was, or 'upgrade' it?

  6. We were in #8340 Silhouette in 2019.  Great cabin....wrap around balcony more long than wide.  Lots of room for loungers, chairs, a large dining type table (not the skimpy ones after redesign so hopefully that is still the balcony furniture).  Pole never an issue, large side porthole by the sofa was a nice feature;  never aware of anyone looking down from above...maybe because the cabin is at the extreme starboard side of the ship.  I tend to over-pack but with great closet/drawers I didn't need all that space.  Would definitely recommend.

I have read many comments here but still am unsure about which suite to book. At this point, I have a choice between 1668/1665,9376/9301,8340/8347,or 7358/7309.  I understand deck 10 should be avoided, if possible, due to the partial obstruction from the window washing equipment. I also understand that lower sunset veranda decks on this ship are not as private as they stick out further than those above, I’m leaning toward 1668, but am concerned that it may be too high or that we may hear noise from the pool deck above. Is the aft or starboard side better? Do both sides have the pole in the room? The renderings make it appear that the inside of the sunset sky suites on the 11th and 12th floors are a little larger?  I’m wondering if the insides as well as the balconies of all sunset sky verandas are the same size regardless of location? Do prices of these suites tend to drop as the sail date gets closer if there are many left? Thanks for your help.

  8. We have had 3 CVP's in over 10 years, approx. 3 years each as 2 were promoted.  All were very good and responsive....until....last year.  Like the OP we had no replies to emails, phone messages for over 3 weeks and no replacement.  Apologies accepted on 2 of these occasions.  Since then it's been very spotty.  Finally our present CVP advised they had been severely cut back to 11 to handle all their clients plus the 'let go' CVPs clients.  She said they are overwhelmed.  Seems it's a push to the general service number who can handle most queries but not the service we've come to expect;  they then have to involve a supervisor who will give permission/clarity (or not) if required.  The message is....if many posters/clients 'complain' loudly and long there may be a reversal to the CVP staffing.  Happy there is good service provided by Ry** as posted above.  I can only comment on my experience and I'm one who seldom requires their help but when I do, I expect a response within hours not days or weeks.

He is never more animated when he is talking about his latest match unless he has conceded

Now your Britishness is kicking in  😉.   I watch 'hockey' almost every night....DH converted me very early in the relationship... and I see some goal tenders whom I think would love to get the heck out of the net when they're being bombarded with 80 + mph shots.  If you ever watched him play when he was 5-7 yrs, it's the very best time and the cutest....then it gets more aggressive.  You sound like a proud and involved grandma, even from a distance!

    There is always hope.

How Premiership teams identify potential stars at 6 and 7 years old is beyond me.

Our grandson has just finished his first full season as a goalie and was the top one in the league for most shut outs, least goals conceded and best % saves ratio. Not that we are biased.

Yes...there's always hope....our son was an elite goalie, progressed pretty far in the system....now he's in insurance...LOL.  But it's lots of fun following along.  Very time consuming but it really keeps the 'kids' out of trouble (for the most part). I wish him success!

It could have gone either way. If I’m being honest, the remainder of my review is going to be so overwhelmingly in favor of YC, I was looking for an opportunity to provide some balance.

where is your review?  on X or MSC board?  or are you doing a comparison here on CC, X board?

That wasn't my question, but our Sunset Sky Suite only has reserved seating on Chic night and it doesn't come with any priority boarding at ports (unlike Premium Access which gets both every day).

Where Premium overlaps is with Internet access (if I could purchase it at a lower price without Internet access I would, but I'm not going to pay full price for something where I already have the main cost).

In my experience, unless changed, there is butler escort to the theatre on chic night(s) only.  There isn't one thing I would miss sailing X vs MSC as reported here.  Having never sailed them there may be other advantages.

I doubt it.  I suspect Ovation got new footstools.  I’m of the belief that the footstools disappeared because of the E-class ships.  There’s barely room for the silly doll house furniture in the IV balcony area, so they eliminated footstools for everyone.

You have such an unusually logical response today ...are you not feeling well?

It's been like this all morning, first time I was nervous so logged out and back in same thing happened. So I left the page open and it eventually loaded

Happy it wasn't only me. I thought I started a new topic for nothing and tried to delete it....no can do!  At the mercy of CC...👎.

Just checked my May 31 Alaska sailing and it’s still there.

While checking it again...it flipped while I was watching....must have been a system glitch.  Thanks for your help.

Added note:  We are currently in Sydney.  Ovation of the Seas was in port today.  All of the balcony cabins have footstools (see pic). The larger suites have lounge chairs as well.  So apparently, any actions regarding footstools and lounge chairs is not RCI wide.

Did they take from Peter to pay Paul?  Coincidence that X has removed the 'stools' and supplied Ovation?
