Jamie's definitely does get very good reviews. The menu doesn't impress me at all. The pictures of food that I have seen so far seem just okay. I don't get the raving over the meat planks, it looks like the typical cold cuts from a very good Italian deli.
Too bad they didn't add Portofino's....love that place.

I'll be following along and I look forward to your pictures and videos. Enjoy!

Looks like the free WiFi party is over as we did not receive it on the 2/2 sailing I'm on right now (I'm posting this from the Solarium). That said, the internet speeds are great with the fastest package that I purchased for $260 (two devices at a time) . Having no problems with regular browsing or streaming videos with speeds similar to what I receive at home. I was even able to remote into my home computer via Teamviewer with no problems.
I'm not sure what everyone else has been complaining about - the ship is absolutely amazing and there is no question it's nicer than any other Rccl ship I've ever been on.
I imagine the free Wi-Fi the entire month of January was free because they had to address many issues that passengers were experiencing before that time. Hopefully it is all corrected especially at those prices.
Have a great time! Can't wait for our turn.:D

I'm not sure what you expected leaving from NJ the end of January. With that said, your post would mean that it was only warm on port days. Sounds very unusual that the sea day before entering St. Thomas and the sea day after leaving St. Maarten was cool that you couldn't use the outdoor areas.Leaving from NJ is such a waste out of 11 days there was maybe 3-4 nice days by the pool the rest you are cooped inside. No thanks especially for the high prices they want for the Quantum. -
Thank you for taking the time for another great review. Can't wait to see this beauty in person.:)
-
That is exactly what happened to me....those prices too, maybe we were looking at the same cruise.:):)I still call "shady" on this. In what alternate reality is the price of a third passenger ever higher than the first two? The sailing I was interested in has 1st and 2nd at $1269 but third at $1599. C'mon! That's ridiculous.NCL is not the only cruise line promoting these ridiculous so called sales. There is a Buy one Get one half off sale with another cruise line that is simply another complete joke.

Perfect, thanks!

Can you please tell me where the bed location is in this cabin.....near closet or balcony? Thanks.Very happy with cabin 9918 on Bahamas cruise. Huge balcony! Booked it again for Feb cruise. -
Does anyone know where bed is located for cabins 11310 and 9918? Is there a list of the aft facing cabins that has where beds are located? I much prefer the bed by the balcony.

I am on a 12 night cruise in April and also cannot book the shows. Has anyone figured out if there are standard times for each of the three large shows? Does Mama Mia always open at 8:30, do they offer the show only on sea days? This is more than frustrating since I was asked to make my dining reservations over a year in advance! I hope one of you have figured out if there is a pattern to their programming!
I also am curious about nightly entertainment. Any information would be greatly appreciated:)
The entertainment for the 4/12 cruise is now open.
-
We were able to book too for April 5th. 3 shows, Mamma Mia, Starwater and Sonic Odessy. They told me the guest entertainer is not available yet but to check back next week.

LOL I just reserved Jamie's last week for our November Anthem cruise at $25pp. Seems like we lucked out and just missed the price increase. We made reservations for Jamies two weeks ago for Anthem TA and we were charged 25.00 per person. We had to call in to make reservations as on line cruise planner was not taking any credit card payments at that time. I had no idea they are increasing Jamies.
We ate dinner at Jamies twice on our Quantum cruise....well worth it.
This is funny....I had to go check Jamie's for Anthem. Guess what? It shows $25.00pp. Royal's IT department strikes again.:D

Ugh, really? So Captain Srecko Ban is not coming back to Quantum? I remembering reading he was taking the ship to China, has all this changed?no, after Capt Gus finishes his 10 week rotation, Capt Henrik Sorensen from Adventure takes over. Capt Gus moves to Anthem, they are giving Capt Ban a nice break from all his hard work bringing out QN (so to speak, Capt Dahlgren brought her across on the maiden and NY freebies then it was Capt Ban for the inaugural). -
Captain Gus is filling in for Captain Srecko Ban who is on vacation. Captain Gus is suppose to leave sometime in March then Captain Srecko Ban returns.I was wondering will Captain Gus be there when we sail? I usually am on the Grandeur and he was the Captain on her. What a great guy. Thanks for your review Radio. Have a great cruise.

Yes, this is true. Personally, I feel the menu and atmosphere doesn't seem to match the amount they are charging. Perhaps the lunch is more reasonable. Give me Portofino's anyday over this.It seems like that was inevitable as everyone was saying how great Jamie's was and how they served so much food. It was just out of character for Royal dining. I would expect portion sizes to decrease as well. -
I agree that it was wrong for them to attempt to charge you the extra money...glad it all worked out for you in the end.:)We are sailing on 2/13 (Friday the 13th:eek:) I had to call to change a time for dinner because an excursion was overlapping the reservation. They tried to charge me the increase. Quite frankly, it was only $15 ($5 for three diners), but it just seemed wrong to me. I asked to have the increase waived and Howard, the representative, asked his supervisor...and it was! I guess if you don't ask, the answer will always be "no".I'm really looking forward to this cruise, and I am definitely try to have an open mind. I'm just a tad frustrated that you have to make so many reservations and think about so many schedules. Part of the fun of cruising is being spontaneous, however it seems if you don't plan you might not be able to enjoy certain restaurants or entertainment venues. Okay, I'm going to take a deep breath and relax.

When I was checking things out on my cruise planner, I noticed Jamie's Italian is now $30.00.
-
There has been several reports now Devinly Decadence is complimentary. If you really want to try that place I would book in case they change their mind.
-
I have read on here that lockers and showers are only available at the Spa one deck below the gym.

You know...after reading several comments from the OP after their initial post, I so agree with you.I would say review your first post and quit your moaning people. -
Wow, very surprised there was chaos already at the time. Thanks! We had dinner at 5:30. Mamma Mia started promptly at 8:30 with doors open at 7:45. Get there early and sit on the lower level. Starwater is listed at 10:00 pm.Sent from my iPhone using Forums
I don't blame you one bit for being angry. That is outright ridiculous. Royal is creating their own problems.:rolleyes:I was on the New Year's cruise and had a slight problem with the internet reception being "spotty". Also, luckily I had 60 minutes free because I was Diamond Plus. How did you receive unlimited free internet? We also had a problem with dynamic dining . .. . we had reservations for 7:15. People would just show up and be seated. So, we showed up at 7:10 and people who were in line before us with reservations for 9 got seated before us. I was livid. So we were not seated until almost 8. They were not using the two line system for those with and those without reservations. At least the night we were at silk. And once we were seated it took about 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. ugh.

Thanks for the updates. Can you tell me what time was your dinner at the American Icon? Also, what time did those shows start last night? Trying to get an idea as our entertainment is still not available. TIA and enjoy the rest of your time on Quantum.:)A few updates from Sunday evening.Mamma Mia = WOW
After so many years of shows with mediocre content by the Royal Caribbean Dancers, we had a night of WOW. Granted there is not much depth and meaning to the story in Mamma Mia, but the energy and fun of it all is perfect for a show at sea. Watch for the guys dancing in snorkel flippers. Lol.
American Icon was a mess. The food was good however the service and atmosphere was chaotic. I ordered the Nebraska short rib and my wife had surf and turf. The short rib was more like a pot roast that was very tender. About half way through dinner my wife realized she only received turf - no shrimp on the plate. Our wait staff did not offer any of the attention as we received in Chic the night before. As we were leaving I noticed the waiter station, usually neat and tidy in the main dining room of olde, was a mess of dirty dishes. Regarding the menu, American Icon looks like a fun place to order dinner from the appetizer menu, something I never thought about under the main dining room system.
There was an air of energy and excitement on the Royal Promenade last night as Mamna Mia and Starwater both let out at the same time and people headed toward the center of the ship from theaters on both ends.
The weather this morning is sunny and the seas have finally calmed. Today is iFly and a cabin crawl.

Thanks for sharing your experience on board the Quantum. Sounds like you really enjoyed the cruise.
I have read a few reports about cabins creaking/banging. Was your cabin in the forward section?
Did you need to make reservations for the ventriloquist and comedian? Are both of these performances in the theater? TIA
