  1. Don’t know where you get 250 per person per night from. For two people in an inside is just about 800 for 4 night cruise.  Unless you looking for a higher category I think that is a fair price.

Thats just over 100 per night per person. Now I don’t sail insides but that’s a steal of a price.  If you can find a better deal then go on another cruise line.

Can’t get insurance unless you book way in advance. For example, I’m thinking about booking a cruise in early May but I haven’t done it yet. I doubt coverage that would pay for my travel expenses would be available if I booked this close to departure. Most require you to buy before the final payment is due unless I misunderstand the process.

Not true. You usually can book insurance 14 days prior to your trip.

Where do you live?  If I lived in Florida or could easily drive to port, sure, not much fuss.  But for us, just to get to port costs more than cheapest trip on a seven night MSC cruise.  The risk of denied boarding weighs in people deciding to cruise and grows as costs to get to port grow.

That’s what travel insurance is for.

insurance is very inexpensive and worth the cost.

  4. I am curious when they allow for booking shore excursions.  We sail in June on the Seashore and they don’t have any listed yet.

I know the situation is very fluid with the Covid stuff going on, but curious how far in advance they post excursions for a cruise now.

Also they only allowing excursions thru the ship still?  Not sure what it will be like come June.

  5. I wouldn’t worry what other people say about taking your children on Yacht Club. You are paying for it and are entitled to everything that is offered, even with children. I have taken children in the Yacht Club with no problems and have never really seen any problem children. Mostly entitled people are the ones that complain about children in the Yacht Club

remember their money is worth the same as yours and don’t be bullied by the entitled ones.

I can't believe someone would even book a cruise in the middle of a pandemic.

People trying to take advantage of the situation and get offers from the cruise line for a cancel, because most people know they won’t be sailing that soon. It’s a smart move to take advantage of it, but need to understand that your money could be tied up for a long time.

Thanks OP, my TA just emailed me that my August 15th Divina was switch to Meraviglia Aug 14.

I'm curious as to how they are going to do this, as I am booked for 4 in a cabin (YC) and there's only 4-8 rooms that can accomodate, where as on the Divina, there's over 20 years of 3+.

I'd better not get a regular cabin...

You are supposed to get the cabin cat. you originally booked or higher. So you should not get a regular cabin.

we are in yacht club in a deluxe balcony and have a guaranteed deluxe balcony, but no cabin assignment yet.   Crossing our finger to an upgrade the duplex but doubt that will happen. Still happy with the ship change and the obc given to us!

  8. Not an issue to us on the change of Sunday to Saturday. Also not much of a difference from Port Canaveral (where Divina is supposed to be) to Miami. I much prefer Miami IMO. Just happy we got the switch and finally find out the status of our reservation. I was excited to try the Divina but we love the Meraviglia from our last cruise.

I have heard that there is supposed to be some announcements on Monday with MSC and hopefully it will give more about the Divina and it’s itinerary.

  9. Looks like we were switched from the Divina to the Meraviglia June 12 2021. Saw it on our online reservation through MSC. We are only assigned guarantee yacht club deluxe so far but also received $200 obc. Very excited about the change and hope it will sail next June!

  10. Just curious if the only photo package to book online is the digital package now?  We will be cruising on the Meraviglia in Jan and wanted to purchase something other than the digital package.

There used to be other photo packages available to pre-book but they have been removed online.

also if anyone has information of photo packages to purchase online with prices that would be appreciated.

You seriously expect any company to give you a discount using only your first name for identification?

Yeah have to agree. Just fill it out like it’s supposed to be and give them your last name.

I have been waiting for almost a month to status match one of the four cabins I booked for another family member. The other 2 cabins and my status match last year went great, but I am not going to rant and rave about the one I am still waiting on and I spent more than your 8k.

if it was me and so bent out of shape about it I would cancel.  Having that bad taste in your mouth will carry over to your cruise with MSC and ruin your vacation.

  12. You won’t have any issues. My wife is also gluten free and we were on the Seaside Yacht Club earlier in the year. When we first boarded and had lunch in the Yacht Club restaurant we let them know she needs gluten free foods and they brought her some gluten free bread and also had a special gluten free menu   Every time we ate in the Yacht Club they remembered and always had the menu ready to give to her.   She will have no issues and you will love the Yacht Club.

The issue is the taxes have increased since I booked, basically negating the savings of the lower cabin fare being advertised.  If it was after final payment and in to penalty period I could see needing to cancel and rebook to get whatever the current promotion is and suffering any penalties or tax changes.  In my case since I am before final payment why do they need to make a new booking and charge additional taxes? Ive tried to speak with a supervisor on multiple occasions but always rebuffed that none are working

They will not reprice without cancel and rebooking. I had to go through this with the four cabins I have booked for myself and family coming up this January and I was way before final payment when I did the change. Wasn’t that bad of a process, but there is a small chance you might lose your cabin they told me when doing this. But we did not have that problem.

Wish they would just reprice instead of going through all the hassles, but I think they use it as a deterrent from people trying to do it. We did it because it saved us a bit, but your situation with the taxes is odd, so you would have to see where the difference in taxes/fees are coming from not giving you the savings  you  thought you would receive.

  14. Trying to find out information about MSC’s Mini Kids club. Website is pretty vague on details, but said you can drop off your child with a trained professional. Just seeing what hours they have and costs associated with it since it says it’s not inclusive.

Any help would be be greatly appreciated. Looking for information for our great niece on our upcoming cruise this Jan on the Meraviglia.
