  1. Same sex marriage is not possible on the new itinerary and NCL were aware of OPs intentions when they booked and NCL were also aware that the itinerary had changed while not informing the customer booking a major life event of this. Lack of care and attention at the very least, deliberate lack of care is also possible given the circumstances.

Cruise lines don’t change itinerary because of one person and also they did not book the wedding on the ship.

If they booked on the ship they still could get married no matter where the ship goes.

  2. Definitely a better stop than Nassau! Of course, that’s not saying much... :')

Way better than Nassau and probably better than St Marteen now.

People give Jamaica bad publicity for really no apparent reason. It’s a lovely island not like St Thomas and Grand Cayman but it’s still a very safe place if you know what you are doing. Many things to do which makes it a very good stop.

  3. Did You NOT buy cancel for any reason trip insurance?

To bad you did not find C.C. earlier.

Island wedding's by ship are never a good bet.

You bet it’s not. What if the ship never made it to that port for any reason?

Trip insurance is a must and really not that expensive.

The OP will not get their money back from AMEX. might as well go have a fun time on the boat!

  4. NCL is a corporation, so don't act like you need to protect your mother's interest. It has nothing to do with the people on the islands. It's just business and Cruise companies can pull this off with a more restricted cancellation policy only because customers suck it up.

Do you happen to read the difference between the contract of EU and US?

    US:

    EU:

To me, it's only fair when there is a predictable change of the itinerary, NCL should allow the customers to cancel or at least change to another itinerary, especially when it's months away.

You are basically asking the customers to be considerate, but would you ever ask NCL to be considerate?

Don’t ask them to be considerate. You pay for a cruise and states in contract about port changes.

It’s a fluid situation and who knows when they will get back to normal. Looks like sooner than later. So they are trying to still figure that out.

  5. Get off your high horse. What you are saying is total nonsense. It has nothing to do with the people in the islands. Don't act like you donate all your income and spend your time to help the people over there.

People paid for their vacation with their hard earned money and they are entitled to know where they are going. Not to mention NCL promised to update in two weeks.

Get off your high horse. Deal with it and it has everything to do with the people on the islands. Maybe you could be more considerate of the situation. Many people are affected by this and he changing of ports. NCL has the right to change

Ports with no notice at all and at least they are trying to communicate as much as possible.

  6. I have no problem going to different ports as long as it is in the same region, i.e. port swaps within the Caribbean. I do have a huge problem with swapping a continental US or Bahamas port for a Caribbean port.

Honestly, if NCL wants to keep the same itinerary and make humanitarian aid stops to islands that need help, I would be all in with helping in any way I can. However, I want to have the opportunity to make the choice between vacation itinerary and/or charity work!

Why don’t you go down there and do charity work instead of complaining?

  7. If true they need to change it and according to the roll call NCL said it will take a week or so to update the changes to the websites with everything that has happened.

Maybe they are thinking they might try to hit those ports now and decided to wait a little more before making it official on their website.

Still would not call it false advertisement. Just a bad and tough situation to be in.

I am affected by this too but I understand this is a tough time and to me I feel fortunate enough to be on a cruise and yes I spent a ton of money on a certain itinerary but i am not going to complain about it. Just make the most of it and have a great time.

  8. They haven’t announced port changes for Jan and Feb.

Not sure on the other cruises but a search on NCL does have some ports on the eastern like St. Thomas.

On a side note St. Thomas will start taking ships sooner than later and they are looking at maybe by the end of October.

I wouldn’t call it false advertisement based on the fluid situation on these islands and we are still in hurricane season.

  9. Another reason their pricing is ridiculous:

I can book an inside cabin with the perks they offer AND a balcony guarantee for $50 less then a Balcony with the perks they offer.

Balcony cabin with NCL perks = $1,798

Inside room WITH NCL perks & Balcony Sail Away rate = $1,748

So I can book 2 cabins on the same cruise with perks, get a balcony cabin AND an inside cabin for LESS then a balcony cabin with the NCL perks.

Makes a ton of sense doesn't it?

So what are you complaining about?

  10. Are you seeing itinerary changes to Breakaway 1/5/18-1/19/18 or 2/2/18-2/16/18 southern caribbean yet?

I have been checking and I don't see that anything has changed for scheduled ports on either the cruisett port schedules or crew-center port schedules websites.

The Breakaway was always scheduled for a Western Caribbean 1/19/18-2/2/18 and the Bahamas 2/16/18-2/25/18.

NCL announced that the Escape will be doing Western instead of Southern temporarily and I am guessing that will end up being until she re-locates to NYC. I am just curious how they are going to deal with the Breakaway since the Western ports already have a pretty heavy capacity to accomodate.

Don’t see anything changed on the breakaway.
