One of the reasons I started cruising with RCI, was because I wanted to sit way, high up over the ocean.

A level between D+ and Pinnacle! :)
I agree with this. I'll never make PC but it would be nice to have another goal!
-
It wasn't out on the Rhapsody, and there was no one there to request it from. We ate in the MDR or concierge club to get it.

I have been assured by my tour operator that should the ship divert to Haifa, they will pick us up there and do the same tours as they would normally do out of Ashdod, ( subject to the security situation, of course.)
Just bear in mind that Haifa is a good two hour ride to Jerusalem one way, or more.

My friend on the Explorer said that they are now waiting for a position in a southbound Suez convoy, as the ship showed up a day early. They haven't heard if they will stop at another port. This trip ends in Dubai.

Please report back on this thread. We will be docking in Israel 2 weeks from today, G-d willing!
We've also arranged a small group tour of 6 pax. Hopefully this will draw less attention than a large group. I recall visiting the Golan Heights one morning & heard there was a bombing there shortly after our visit. Dw recalls visiting Hebron and her car was attacked by protesters. We still want to return to Israel!!!
Just heard from my friend on the Explorer and they were just told their port of call for tomorrow, Ashdod, has been cancelled. I'll know more later.

The mosquitoes that carry malaria are, i believe the sunset and sunup type. Are you going to be ashore at theses times? If not, it's much easier to cover up and use deet.

A friend of mine is supposed to dock in Ashdod tomorrow. She will let me know if they do or not.

Dress modestly. Shirts with sleeves, and long pants. A great area to stay in is near the Burj Khalifa as you have easy access to the Metro for cheap transportation.

I don't think their IT people are travellers, let alone cruisers! The new web site is one big frustration.

We used US$ in Bethlehem.

If your cruise is coming up soon, you might want to keep a close eye on changes to your itinerary. This weekends problems might cause your ship to change ports.

I don't cruise during spring break unless I have a balcony. The ships are packed to the gills. If a cabin can hold four, it will be booked for four.

I stand corrected. My d+ pin is two toned metal, and has six diamonds on it. It's slightly larger than my other pins. I don't have any like the one shown on the emerald card above. My older pins are just plain round. I had to go and look at my pin to remember it correctly!
-
Same thing happened to us. I never received our Platinum pins, I called C&A and we received the Diamond Plus pins. They are the purple ribbon with 6 diamond stones. I called them back and told them they sent the wrong ones, so I should be getting hopefully the correct ones any day now.
We should be getting our Emerald pins on our Freedom cruise next month.
Could you post a picture of your diamond plus pin? Mine looks like the one on the card that says emerald. I thought that diamond and below pins were plain round, whereas the D + has the fancy edging and one diamond. Thanks.

I'd rather book a cheap cabin for that kind of money and earn more points and actually cruise.

So what did they do.
Well, the passengers who were lucky enough to have access to the concierge club, had the concierge obtaining their E-visas online for them. They used their credit cards for payment. No visa, no disembarkation in Turkey.
-
They don't really restrict it, anyone could pop in for a visit!

I've been to barefoot beach only, and they issue the six persons wrist bands. The same at cocoa cay.

We took the local bus from the port at Souda to Chania, approximately a fifteen minute ride for about $1.50. We spent the afternoon wandering the mostly pedestrian streets, looking in shops, and eating on the waterfront. Very relaxed.

We were in Santorini in May. A storm blew up and the walkway and the cable car were both closed for safety reasons. Buses were hired, and PAX were given a free ride back to the tender port at the end of the island, and then a tender ride back to the ship.

What is the casino rate? Are you a member of m life or just a big roller? Just curious.
-
We find the first night very unorganized. You'd think it was a first cruise for everyone, passengers, waiter, etc.
-
I don't book onboard, because I find the staff sometimes less than helpful. I've never found a better price onboard, and I always book in Canadian.

I get that message at least once a month, whenever I have a booking. And no, my reservation does not appear to have been modified!
Onboard credit transfer on b2b??

My experience says no. Each cruise has a separate bill.
