I haven't found out - ended up getting the package for the entire sailing. Will see in the 'my voyage' if anything can be deciphered.

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday in the medical center - similar sinus infection to what I had on out 2019 sailing. Got some heavy duty decongestant & codeine  cough medicine. I don't think I'll be doing the bike tour this morning.

Thanks for reply. You should be able to see if they have credited you with the WC allowance once or twice. Hope you're feeling better,

Mrs Bear and I are all packed - with considerably 'too much stuff' (a hazard go being fairly local to the terminal) waiting for the proper time to leave for our 2:15 suggested boarding time.

I'll need to see how far the World Club 'gold' wifi benefit stretches - is it renewed on each segment like to old minute by minute benefit? For that and other reasons [too busy enjoying the ship] my updates may be sporadic. That should not stop other folks from contributing or commenting 🙂

Did you ever find out if the wifi benefit is renewed on each segment?

We are enjoying your reports. Keep enjoying the lovely QM2, we have to wait until January.

Thanks @terry&mikeand @kassiopi.  I reviewed his website.  We're doing a 15 day leg of an around the world cruise with Oceania.  I'm getting no interest on CC roll call for this segment.  Thanks for your replies.  @kassiopiWe did a short visit to Corfu by ferry in Septmember.  Oceania called at Igoumenitsia and we found little to do there. A local gave us the ferry to Corfu suggestion.  We enjoyed it!

There's definitely nothing worth seeing in Igoumenitsa, most people would head for Ionannina, Taking the ferry to Corfu was a brilliant idea. Glad you enjoyed it, we've lived here 35 years now and love the Island. Enjoy Vietnam.

I have used Xuan Le in Vietnam for myself, and for a group of friends, for multiple tours. There are several posts on CC in reference to how wonderful he is. You won't be disappointed in his services.  He does stay booked up though, so may not have availability. www.tourwithxuan.com

We can also highly recommend Xuan. Book with him and you won't be disappointed. We used him in 2019 for the Hi Chi Minh tour and have booked him for 2023 for a tour of the Mekong Delta.

  5. We are booked on the Caribbean cruise on 14th January which is 28 nights. I have just checked on My Cunard and it shows only 4 Gala nights (one per week). Surely this can't be right. I for one will be terribly disappointed if this is how Cunard are "progressing". Any thoughts anyone?

  6. Never used a drinks package before and I'm wondering if you order eg: a gin and tonic, does this count as 2 drinks. I know Gordans is $9 which is covered by the package but if I order it with a tonic do I pay for the tonic as this would put it over the permitted $9

Today ended one of my most memorable and unforgettable cruises.

I will give more detailed report in the next two days.

Could not write from the ship as -  I have to admit- there was to less time and to much to enjoy.

@Sailaway1706- the regular masks  were worn by most of the passengers, including me. Anyway there where two  masks  , fabric and very well made, waiting in the cabin.

The SV was wonderful I would book JUST an SV cabin or , if the price is right a Suite- since they have the regular balcony.

The best cabin i ever had on board a cruise ship in all my 25 years of cruising.

Capt. Kafetzis and his whole Crew did a wonderful , outstanding job in opening the Celebrity Apex.

More later. Thanks all for reading and all the nice comments.

Thank you for posting this. Look forward to hearing more. We're due to board next Saturday.

  8. Re masks. W are due on Apex July 3rd. I don't know if it is Celebrity's own policy but we live in Greece (Corfu) and the rules in Greece are masks must be worn inside and outside at all times EXCEPT when seated (on the beach etc) in a bar or restaurant and when eating/drinking. I have to add that although wrong most Greeks wear the mask under their chin and a lot of tourists don't bother at all even though they risk a 300€ fine.

there will be taxis at port touting for trips to Pompeii and Herculaneum

there is a fixed price on laminated sheet insde taxi

usually allows 2 hours on site and then will pick you up-pay on return to ship

private guides available at site entrance if you want to hire one

Thank you for this information. Have you any idea (approx) of the price of the taxi or the private guides.

  10. We are due to call into Naples in January and want to visit Pompeii. I have looked at many private tours but they all seem to include Vesuvius or elsewhere on the Amalfi coast but Vesuvius in January doesn't really appeal. I was wondering if anyone had visited Naples and could tell me if there are likely to be taxis/private hire at the port offering a return trip to Pompeii where I presume we could hire a guide. Mike

Friends of ours went with Jordon Horizons recently and were very satisfied.

I will be using them in March 2019...will report back how it went.

We are doing Petra/Wadi Rum tour...$195 p/p with private group of 8.

    Entry to both sights included.

We have been looking at Jordan Horizons for our visit to Aqaba in Jan 2020. I hope you had a wonderful visit and would appreciate it if you could give some feedback on your experience. Also timings. At the moment our cruise is showing 08:30 to 20:30 stay but from past experience I know this isn't always exact.

That is interesting, mine was succulently moist and bursting with flavor. I am usually not a big fish eater, but it was one of my favorite bites of the cruise.

Sorry that yours was not as good.

The Salmon Wellington is my favourite dish and I look forward to it every time we sail with Cunard. We did all 3 sections and was very disappointed that it didn't appear on the menu on the final NY-S'hampton leg.

Hi Ann, St. Paul's Chapel is just East of the 9/11 memorial site, so figure about a 16 minute walk from the Wall Street Ferry Terminal. St. Paul's Chapel is a very moving place to visit. I haven't been there in a while, but I'm welling up just thinking about it. I'm interested in hearing more about the walking tour you found. Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve. Thanks for the info. Btw it was me Vera, not Anne who asked. I have now booked the 9/11Memorial and Ground Zero walking tour with 9/11 musuem. I booked it through TripAdvisor but it's supplied by Viator. Thanks again for your help.

The ferry is only a 2-3 minute walk from the cruise terminal. The World Trade Center Memorial is only an 18 minute walk from the Wall Street ferry terminal (a little less than a mile).

Hope you enjoy thee museum. I'm a fan of the above-ground memorial space, but I was hesitant to visit the below-ground museum. I finally booked a tour, and found it to be one of the best tours I've taken. It's certainly emotional, but amazingly well done. If possible, I highly recommend booking tickets in advance for a tour of the below-ground museum.

Hi Steve, It's me again. I have now found a walking tour to the 9/11 memorial and museum but the starting point is St. Paul's chapel. How far is this from the Wall Street ferry terminal. TIA

Thank you for your quick response. I will now look on line to book a tour of the museum.
