  1. Considering this stateroom 18124 on Bliss. We have always had the one on deck 17 which has the automatic door leading into the lounges and the rest of deck 17. On deck 18 there are doors where you scan your card, but I don't know if they are automatic, are they easy to open and do they allow easy entry with the Scootaround. It's pretty much the same set up on Joy. Would appreciate some first hand knowledge! Thanks!

  2. If you need your clothes washed or dry cleaned during your cruise, laundry services are available on all Norwegian ships. Your clothes will be returned the next day, or the same day by special request. Prices vary from garment to garment but keep an eye out, discounts are available.

How is the pizza off the kids mdr menu?  Thought I might give that a try when I run out of vegetarian options.

We had three dinners at Le Bistro and, as a vegetarian, I was tired of the Napoleon de Legumes. It's good but not in the mood for the third. So I ordered the pizza from the kids menu and I loved it. Just a plain delicious cheese pizza! It really hit the spot.

  4. We always buy NCL's platinum plan that includes cancel for any reason. Never had to use any part of it until last cruise. My spouse had a backache that just wouldn't quit and he was out of ibuprofen. Decided to visit the medical center. He explained that he gets this a lot and iburofen works but we're out. They gave him an injection and some ibuprofen tabs. Success. i figured that since it was a chronic condition the insurance would not cover it. Wasn't even going to bother to get the forms from the medical center, but they dropped them off at our cabin. I figured there would be lots of hoops, but no! I uploaded the bill from the medical center, explained we had medicare so they would not cover out of the country.

Two days later we got the approval email and very clear instructions on how to get the payment: they would send a check, issue an e-check, or PayPal. Chose PayPal and it was instant! No fees no nothing! YMMV with a larger claim.

  5. We told our butler that we really liked bar mix, M&Ms, cheese and crackers, BLTs and PBJs and that any would be greatly appreciated. He served us a nice rotating mix. On embarkation there were already some snack bowls covered with plastic wrap as I had mentioned this to the pre-cruise concierge. I also discovered that in the Observation Lounge there is an assortment of snacks in a section called build-your-own-trail mix. That was a lot of fun. Have a great cruise!

We are going in June 24 to Bermuda on Joy. I am taking my disabled brother who is mentally an 11 year old who never drinks alcohol. We want the free at sea drinks package but it's a waste to have to get it for him. We'd like to get him the soda package but there is no option to do that because he is 61 years old. ugh!

If you get a letter from your doctors to that effect and submit it to NCL they will waive the requirement. We did this when my spouse was on medication that meant he could have no alcohol.

    It could be worse......(2019) LINK

"Due to repairs in the Haven galley, the Haven restaurant will be closed during your sailing from September 7th to September 14th.

We will be providing the following dining alternatives:
Cagney’s Steakhouse, Deck 8 Aft, will be open for breakfast and lunch and will serve the current Haven breakfast and lunch menus.
A complimentary 7-meal specialty dining package will be provided for you onboard so you can enjoy.
    "

We were on that cruise! A bit disappointed when we got the email but the reality was just fine. Lots of specialty restaurants! And Cagney's made a lovely breakfast and lunch locale.

  8. Norwegian Cruise Line has introduced an enhanced room service menu. The new menu offers an expanded selection for breakfast, in addition to a wider variety of options available 24 hours. A 20% gratuity and beverage service charge will be added for non-complimentary beverages and special occasion items.

    *Prices subject to change.

  9. We did not get tags in the mail for our last two cruises and then suddenly we got them for the upcoming cruise. I guess it is hit or miss. We still print them out and put them in a holder from Amazon and we'll add the "real" ones on the morning of the cruise.
