I love Galveston! How about a pre and post cruise stay at the wonderful Tremont House? Yes, please!

No, not unless you have a large group you wish to seat together.

JamieLogical thanks for this post! It's so nice to read about all the things we love about cruising instead of the volatile, political, complaining, fatalistic stuff. Not that there's anything wrong with that! 😀
We are crazy about the Haven, both on Bliss and on Joy. We loved the Haven Restaurant on Bliss, but on Joy they had a kitchen fire just before our cruise and so we had breakfast and lunch in Cagneys. But they managed to transfer the whole Haven experience to Cagneys, just for those meals. They also gave us 7 specialty dinners, since there was no Haven Restaurant for dinner. Still had a great time.
I will be interested to hear from folks who cruise Joy Haven who have cruised before the great concierge class switcheroo.

Thanks so much for posting that cool video of the Smoky! Loved watching that and remembering that wonderful bar in The Haven on Bliss.

a gigaset phone,what is it?
It's just a portable phone in some of the suites. You can take it with you around the ship if you want to, but we never did.

14 Days on NCL Star! That was our last long cruise, PC. We just rotated the specialty restaurants every night, bought the extras. Just loved it! We just did Le Bistro, then La Cucina, then Moderno, then Cagney's. Never did any upcharges. Rinse and repeat! Bon Voyage!

At one point I remember the bed in the Family Suite could be separated. I found this someplace online: A queen-size bed that converts to two lower beds a sofa bed. that may have changed

I feel much safer in my accessible suite on Bliss, but it is a trade off in some areas, as pcakes points out. I especially appreciate the automatic door control so I don't have to struggle with my walker to get in and out of the stateroom.

Any of the Suites have the suite breakfasts and lunches. Categories begin with "S"

I am about 80/20 vegan vegetarian on land but when I cruise I just let my vegetarian flag fly! Mushroom soup is on the list, even pizza, the goat cheese galete in the Haven, and of course Napoleon de Legumes! Don't try and stop me!

Favorite healthy dish, the Avocado Toast for breakfast.

What do you miss most about cruising? 😄
Thank you for keeping this on track!

When they saw I was vegetarian (it would pop up when they scanned my card in the beginning, because I had let the concierge pre-cruise desk know) they immediately made suggestions and offered to help me any way they could. I always had plenty to eat! Some of the side orders of veggies alone were WAY enough!

I think you mean Victoria. They will probably have some excursions like the horse-drawn carriage.

Whenever I get caught up in all the negativity about our current situation, I pull up this post and just go back in time. Thanks again for this wonderful post!

Here's a recent tour. Enjoy, hope it helps!

The main thing for us is not the room itself but the perk of Suite Breakfast and Lunch venues for Suite Guests. We just love the quiet, the food, the service. For us it is worth the extra cost. YMMV!

Yes! And a wonderful walk-in closet. Unique mini-suites of the fleet!

Thank you so much for your Friday Fun! We really need it right now. Your sight gag of the pool deck made me LOL! 🙂

Bring the suits because you never know in Alaska in August. We have had a 70s day and a 60s and in between rain and shine!
The thermal spa on the Bliss is stunning! There is so much to do that, unless you must have a heated lounger or nothing, you will find plenty of space. For us, it was well worth the price.
Never really checked out the Vibe.

The bar in the Haven often has hard-to-find items that are not in some of the regular bars. Ask your bartender. The Haven bartender is always superb!
We ate all our meals in the Haven Restaurant (lunch and breakfast) and then tried out all the specialty restaurants. Our favorites were Ocean Blue and Le Bistro. But they were all terrific!
Bon Voyage!
