Be awesome if we could get into CK on Allure next week. We loved it on Quantum. We are in a JS on Allure.
-
Interesting. We didn't have to tip last time we were there two/three years ago. We'll see when we are there in two weeks if that changes.
-
Worth following you as we'll be getting on when you get off.

Mojo, Saffron (Formal), Pimiento, Basil, Jasmine (Formal), Shiitake, Pomodoro

Awesome info here. Thanks to you both.

Going on Allure for a Western at the end of the month. When are the formal nights? Lobster/prime rib night? If anyone has any recent menu shots, that'd be great too. Thanks.
-
Thanks! I know food is subjective, but any "musts" at CK? Also, which of the included venues would you skip to eat at CK?
Thanks again!
We ate there two, if not three times, on Q last year. I remember the lamb was fantastic. Can't recall what I had the other times. Likely too much time in the sun by that point!

Looks like they extended the outdoor seating in the Windjammer a bit.
-
The pricing on these has gotten out of line. If they put more perks, like a better buffet for Nellie's cabanas, and maybe a couple free labadoozies, then sure. But not as is.
-
Has anyone had luck with getting on the waitlist for a BB cabana once on board? What category of room were you in? Supposedly if those don't sell, you don't have to be in a GS or above to get one? And if so, what ship were you on? Assuming it would only work on Non Oasis class as those have more GS and above and have a bigger pool of people to book them through the concierge. Thanks.
-
Is the normal buffet (burgers, dogs, etc) included or an upgraded one for the price?
-
I know Adam G said the majority of business will switch from FLL to POM. Anyone have any details on what ships would move to POM from FLL or are they just adding a large volume to POM. Would love to use POM to do a southern. Much cheaper to fly to Miami than San Juan.

Curious as to the roll out on other ships.....

The Family Junior has two bathrooms. One full, one half. The Junior has a balcony that is double the size and can also be configured to connect to an attached solo cabin as well as a standard balcony (Family Connected Suite). The Junior suite balcony is angled toward the front of the ship and is mostly shaded due to the overhangs (yes I've sailed in one). Both will have a bed and a sofa bed. So really the difference is balcony vs extra bathroom. Both come with the ability to earn double Crown and Anchor points.

I didn't get that email, but am not on until October 2016. When I was on Q, we sailed about 4:30.
-
It's not the concierge. That's for Grand Suite and above guests and you'd have to do it beforehand (or can rather). I believe you want the excursions desk.
-
I believe this idea is what led to the creation of the North Star on Quantum class.
That's correct.
-
I have read that guests in junior suites may make reservations for Coastal Kitchen if there is availbility. Has anyone booked in a jr suite done that?
If so, was it difficult to get a reservation? How far in advance were you permitted to make the reservation?
From my current knowledge, no JS are allowed in CK on either Oasis or Allure in any capacity. They are included in CK on Anthem and Quantum though.

I would think that if you work to raise money for a non- profit, you would appreciate how hard "quality" non-profits work to make that money, and want to see them succeed for the good of their charity. They certainly would not make you participate if you choose not to. In fact I have never ever felt pushed by the cruise line to donate or participate in the walk. In fact I found that most People had no idea that it was going on. I have had many people ask... whats happening here, as we where meeting, and I am always happy to share what a great Charity MAW is.
I would be very sad to see RCCL end their relationship with MAW. My Son was granted a wish, and it was the best experience he has ever had. We as a family could not be more grateful to MAW or the amazing, generous people like you, that are kind enough to donate. Thank You!!
Oh and As of May 22 on Radiance they did have a MAW walk, and we were thrilled to be able to participate. Amy mentioned how near and dear to their hearts MAW was... so who knows.
Fully agree. My DS too has received a wish, to see the mouse in Orlando this past March, but the point is still the same. He's been on numerous RCCL cruises and he himself, before he became sick, enjoyed the walk. I always felt they didn't promote it enough. It's not like they were blocking the doors asking for donations like some other charities. I've felt they hype there own products, such as spa treatments or watch sales, way more than they did the fundraising. Sad day.

I wonder if there is a possibility to keep the port and tender from Anthem? I hope that both you and I are wrong, but if they don't get started soon...
Hurricane season is fast approaching, and the Winter months are probably less than ideal to dredge as well.
They already said previously, the Bermuda government that is, that they wouldn't/can't dredge during the summer cruise season due to volume. So dredging wouldn't start until November.
With that being said, they could possibly tender. They just did that when the NCL Dawn hit the reef and had to anchor out in the harbor for the night before being moved back to the dock in King's Wharf in the morning.
-
Ditto! 9 nighter 6/30 -7/9.
I hope to hear that she can still go to Bermuda or that someone who knows the situation well can comment and let us know that they are still within the bounds of getting this done in time.
If Bermuda doesn't dredge, does anyone know if RCCL has to commit a ship there for the summer season next year? If not, they could just add another day down south on the 9 day. Likely St Thomas given they dropped that off of the 9 day in favor of Labadee. I don't see them moving Anthem out of NJ if they don't have to commit to Bermuda. Don't see them adding a second ship to NJ either. Would think either Grandeur would take over the Bermuda route or perhaps they would move an older ship up to Boston and do 7 day Bermuda runs to compete with NCL.
-
Anyone stay here recently and notice if the stop is open? Considering Pier 66 for our November cruise. It's not a deal breaker. Just was looking for confirmation.
-
If you're midship, there is a good chance of being near the pool or Johnny Rockets. I would look at moving personally.
Bingo. We had a deck 13 JS on the third Quantum cruise. So we were right under Johnny Rockets. The noise was horrible in the early morning. About 5, 5:30, they started putting chairs back out, wash the decks, clean up misc. dishes and drop them into the wait station. It woke us up every morning. Stinks that it happened on our vacation, but luckily we normally get up at 6 anyways. I would definitely move down to 12 if you can.
-
I was thinking the same thing. Niether Nellies or Barefoot Beach Cabanas are showing up as an option to reserve for us.
Same here. Just double checked since the cruise planner was down when I put up my last message.
-
Obviously I am too far out to make any excursion bookings, so I made a dummy booking for this year (where I *think* I saw options for Nellies Beach and BB). I noticed that for the BB cabanas, there were age restrictions (4 years old I believe). I will be traveling with a 1 and 2 year old...
Did you say you saw it as bookable online? I thought they took that option away?

Just off Allure. We were in a JS and couldn't eat at Coastal Kitchen. Tried two different nights.
