  1. I paid for a cruise that was cancelled using 1. Debit card for deposit and 2. Remainder using a credit card.

I received my deposit back into my account but have yet to see credit for remainder on my credit card.

What’s the usual wait time between the 2? I would think both would be refunded the same day.

  2. We’re sharing an important change for your upcoming Royal Caribbean cruise.

We hope this finds you healthy and safe and that with each passing day, we are closer to getting back to a more regular day-to-day. While this is like nothing any of us have ever experienced, we continue to evaluate how it impacts our upcoming sailings and our healthy return to service.

Our most recent plan was to resume operation on October 31st, 2020. However, to ensure we have ample time to focus on our healthy return to service initiatives, our global suspension has been extended through November 30th, 2020, with a plan to resume operation on December 1st, 2020. As a result, your sailing will unfortunately be cancelled.

While we wish we had different news to share, we’ve emailed you and your Travel Advisor additional details, including compensation. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this unexpected situation – we miss you already.

  3. Do we have any idea on what the actual mandates will be? We are booked on Liberty December 14th to 18th. Got the email today as well.

    2 real questions:

    1. What are the mandates gonna be, I wear a mask only when I have to, but personally can't see wearing a mask the whole time on my cruise aside of eating,  so thats a no for me!

    2. Probability of CCL canceling rest of year? I don't want to pull the trigger yet and make any rash decisions,  but, I'd rather plan something else now and get my $$$$ back.

Was so excited to go cruising on my Birthday Week, but now I feel uncertainty.

You will have to wear a mask while walking around the ship. That’s a given.

I believe if you got the email you cancel cancel and get $$$ back.

  4. Some encouraging information for one Caribbean port.

ST. KITTS & NEVIS TO REOPEN BORDERS ON

    OCTOBER 31, 2020

St. Kitts & Nevis is pleased to once again welcome visitors to its shores beginning October 31, 2020. In order to ensure a responsible reopening of its borders, the Federation is the last Caribbean destination to do so.

The CDC recently assessed the Federation's Covid-19 risk as very low and designated it as "No Travel Notice" required, having had only 19 cases of the Coronavirus, no community spread and no deaths.

"We have been working diligently to prepare for this reopening to ensure that we are ready to welcome travelers by training and certifying local businesses and individuals in the health and safety protocols they are required to meet and be certified in to be permitted to operate," said the Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant, Minister of Tourism, Transport and Ports. "This is particularly important as we encourage visitors to explore our islands beyond their hotels to experience what makes us a unique, authentic and quintessential Caribbean experience."

The Hon. Mark Brantley, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Aviation, added, "The genuinely friendly people of St. Kitts & Nevis are a key component of our tourism product, so the protocols we have established aim to provide for their safety in interacting with visitors as well as visitors' safety in interacting with our people. It is critical to travelers' perceptions of St. Kitts & Nevis as a safe and desirable destination of choice as well as to citizens and residents own safety in embracing their return."

The twin-island Federation has received international recognition of their successful management of the first wave of the global pandemic as a result of early and aggressive testing, contact tracing and quarantine program along with an "All of Society Approach" that includes mask-wearing in public, social distancing and sanitization protocols to ensure everyone's health and safety. Key outlets such as the BBC, Sky News and Tripoto have named St. Kitts & Nevis among the few countries in the world to have effectively "beat" the virus.

Ongoing and careful consultation with the Chief Medical Officer and Ministry of Health to fully develop and implement health and safety protocols for the entire industry was paramount to ensure the well-being of all citizens, residents and visitors. In fact, for business to reopen, tourism industry businesses, employers and employees must undergo "Travel Approved" training for their respective sector/business/department and upon completion of the training they receive the "Travel Approved" Certification and Seal. The "Travel Approved" Certification and Seal provides assurance to citizens, residents and visitors the destination is ensuring health and safety protocols are not compromised in St. Kitts & Nevis and can be trusted.

It was only then St. Kitts & Nevis decided to reopen its borders

  5. Just curious to what they sell/supply to the cruise lines, to which they do not need until March?

I don’t want to go into specific details but it is a food and the business is in S FL. Was told this today. She said the cruise line told her.

I have a Thanksgiving cruise I want to go on and was bummed to hear this.

  6. Interesting statement from cruise radio

When the CDC extended the original no sail order, it did so on the Thursday evening before it had been set to expire. Given that as of Friday morning, the latest order has not been extended, many are taking this as an indication that the current order may actually be allowed to expire next week.

  7.
I don’t think that is a fact. The CDC could let the no sail order expire and then implement a no sail order at any time in the future. The CDC isn’t under the gun to make a decision soon since CLIA has voluntarily suspended all cruises from the US thru the month of October.

I think the CDC will follow the need to be done one way or the other by 9/30. To let it expire and then reinstate is wreckless unless sailing happen and covid break outs happen.

  8. That’s nice but I’d rather live in my area. Lol. I had a Satellite office in Hollywood for many years. Didn’t care for the traffic. I was born in Miami but was out of there pretty quickly.

My brother and his wife are probably 20 minutes from PC. They used to grab those cheap sailings that would often pop up in email.

  9. Simply untrue.

Some ships may not resume until Spring but Carnival remains confident that many will be sailing as early as November.

The question was did Carnival JUST announce no sailings until spring 2021 which I answered no. The revised sailings have been up for awhile.

  10. They probably won't commit to anything except maybe extend the no sail for 30 days which in reality doesn't change anything and the cruise lines can still continue their plans for November.

I believe that if no sail order goes thru 10/31. They won’t sail until Dec. 30 days from No Sail expiring in case it is extended again.
