On a recent cruise, the room steward looked at me like I had 2 heads when I very nicely asked him to empty the mini-fridge. I ended up doing it myself. Is this something new or was this guy just being lazy?

The shoe bag I got in the $1 store has a hanger built into it, but was red/white flowered plastic that wasn't transparent.

 

Next time we travelled I used magic marker to mark pockets with contents. When I unpacked I left quite a few things right in the shoe bag for future travels.

We recently did two back to back cruises, the first on Royal Carib. and the second on Norwegian.

 

After hopping in a cab when we disembarked Royal Carib., we told the driver we needed to go to Norwegian Sky's terminal.

 

He got nasty and said we had to get out, that he usually does only trips to airport and that it wasn't worth his time to just take us to the NCL terminal (this definitely isn't walkable!). Said he would have to get back on a big taxi line after dropping us off to get a fare to the airport.

 

A security person directing traffic told him to just move it and take us where we had to go. He did so, but was really annoyed.

 

Is there a shuttle we should have used instead of a taxi to go from one cruiseline's terminal to the next?

 

(We gave him $15 anyway for what probably should have been a $5 trip because we sort of felt sorry for him even though he was nasty)

Years ago we went to a beach in St. Thomas and while snorkeling off the beach, I inadvertently swam over very shallow water.

 

I knew I couldn't (and shouldn't!) step on the coral to get out and yelled to my husband to help. I was almost in tears.

 

He yelled over to me, "just roll on your back and float over it". I did so and managed to get out without cutting myself or hitting the coral.

 

There were lots of people sitting on the beach just watching "my show". I felt like a beached whale! So embarrassing....I'm still afraid to snorkel without going out on a boat into deep water because of this.

Hi Larry,

Nice to see your smiling face again. We had corresponded when I was researching the Solstice cruise last December! Your advice is always the best.

 

I'm checking out Kontiki beach next. We're deciding on either the Ruby Princess or NCL Dawn for 3/10 cruise.
