... fine province that it is known as the "frozen tundra (Saskatchewan) " but the RCMP have their Academy there (Regina) ...
Regina, SK ... beautiful place ... to leave. At least that’s what every new Mountie usually says after 6 months at Depot. [emoji6]

not going up? Well you are now. We get off on deck 7 and wish them well on their journey.

she decides she wants to be in the exact spot i am occupying. I am now looking at her crotch. She smells like liniment. I decide i don’t need a trinket.🤣 🤣 🤣

You are correct' date=' the DNU caveat on a booking only prevents HAL from 'auto-upgrading' us without our prior consent. You or your TA may still receive upgrade/upsell offers from HAL as they become available for your consideration.[/quote']
Phew! Thanks KroozNut.

First the announcement this past week of the new Rolling Stone Rock Room venue rollout, & now the yet-unconfirmed possible addition of recognized “topless” sunbathing areas. If this latest development rings true then HAL is definitely looking towards broadening their appeal horizon for the next generation(s) of HAL clients. And some current HAL clients too. [emoji6]

We have all of our bookings marked 'Do Not Upgrade' ...
Curious, does this ‘Do not upgrade’ marking stop Upgrade &/or Upsell offers being sent to you (your TA) from HAL? I assumed this option meant HAL would not auto-upgrade our pre-selected specific room assignment without our approval.
We would like to receive upgrade/upsell offers ... should we have our TA “uncheck” this booking selection?
Thanks. Dogstar.

Koningsdam’s 2018-12 drydock refurbishment to include addition of new Rolling Stone Rock Room venue ...

Great move by HAL to enhance the variety of nightlife for boomers.
My thoughts exactly! Bounce between the BB & RS venues easily, enjoying both as the mood & tempo suits. [emoji1303][emoji1303] to HAL for this creative improvement.

Well, you all seem to like Rolling Stone better than you do Oprah.
Oprah who? Rock on!!! [emoji1591][emoji41][emoji1591]

Hi kazu, kindly remove us from the 21 Nov 2018 Koningsdam cruise, please. We rescheduled over to the 10 Dec 2018 Koningsdam cruise instead, which is already listed.
Thanks for all of your time & effort maintaining this info for us all.
Cheers. Dogstar

We’re nearing our Final Payment date at end of this month for our upcoming December cruise. The anticipation is building despite having to lighten our bank account shortly. [emoji6]

< putting on flame retardant suit >
To much of a degree I agree with the OP that it may be poor business practice for HAL to have denied the OP’s request for the OBC credit/fare change match, within the 24 hours of booking, irregardless of booking fare type (refundable or non-refundable). Yes, HAL is within their right to stick to their contract rules, terms & conditions, etc., contrary to other’s favourable (or not) experiences with the same situation.
Some travel industry businesses, including airlines, have a 24 hour window for purchase/ticket refund, no questions asked, for all fare types. It offers time for “remorse” purchases & promotes goodwill. Some businesses overtly promote this “feature”, others bury it in the fine print.
The OP is welcome to not do business with HAL in the future as proposed, if so chooses. We have done same wipbusiness entity over the years, for one reason or another. That’s the choice of a consumer.
My $0.02 CDN ($0.01 USD).
Safe travels & happy bargain hunting all.
Cheers. Dogstar.

Yes, we rented a standard cabana there once & enjoyed the private’ish experience. We elected to not rent one last time, though, & still thoroughly enjoyed the inexpensive (aka free) hammocks & loungers further along beach. We’ve decided to use the No Cabana option again this December.
So it depends what you want &/or need the cabana for. For us the cost vs. benefits just isn’t worth it ... at the moment.

Congrats kazu if you got where you wanted to go in 16 steps. I gave up after 25 and still did not even get close ... I actually do know what I am doing, and I still can't do it. This is one freaking crazy awful website.
^^^ THIS !!!
And to add to our misery of HAL’s web site design I haven’t figured out, no matter how hard I try to manipulate the site’s Bermuda Triangle layout/behaviour, if it’s even possible to:
1. select fare options other the default current promotion? For example, add/remove Explore4, etc.
2. identify & select specific room sub-categories (ie. VA, VB, etc.) within a type (Verandah) without referring to a separate Deck Plan page?
Just my $0.02 CDN ($0.01 USD) worth of input.
Dogstar.

[ HAL_PR ] 30 posts since 2007 & this thread is response worthy? Clearly this topic caught some attention at HAL HQ.
Perhaps the (re)introduction of topless sunbathing areas is worthy of some further consideration, in more suitable locations? The times are changing, just like the ships, venues & clientele demographics.
HAL_PR, please join us any time on CC for more lively discussions on all things HAL, cruising & then some. Your participation is warmly welcomed & sincerely appreciated.
And to you as well Copper10-8 !
