  1. Has anyone in UK used the Baggex baggage handling service as advertised at the top of this page?
I will be cruising solo for the first time since losing my husband 15 moths ago, and thought it might be easier than me trying to handle suitcase myself.
Any thoughts ? ...sailing from Southampton in sept.

  2. Hi Jim

Just popping in to say hello, and that I will be following closely 🙂
You were kind enough to give me some of the suite 'goodies' whilst on Silhouette in April which I very much appreciated. Sadly, my husband passed away 3 weeks after we returned from that trip, so I will be getting my cruise fix vicariously through your good self for a while yet.

    Have a great trip.

I don't think that is much of a factor but there are many others

    1. Hesitancy due to covid

    2. Vastly increased pricing

    3. Lack of overseas visitors (mainly USA & Canada) due to testing requirements to fly home.

    4. Recession looming, inflation 9% and rising, massively increased energy costs.

    5. Poor investment returns.

    6. Bad planning by Celebrity. too many ships in Europe and not enough staff to give the expected service.

All in all, a perfect storm hitting many sectors, not just cruising.

deleted post ...  sorry ... wrong info .. I thought this was about Silhouette, not Apex

We have the B2B meeting this morning at 10:00 am (about 20 minutes from now)

We are to be tested tomorrow morning at 8:25 (Iain's not pleased as he is not a morning person)     Out of an abundance of Caution I did a pre-test this morning

    Solid negative

Can I ask pls are they charging for the tests ?? I have had some people say they are and others say they are not .. so to hear it from someone going through it would help 🙂

The ones we got are not monogrammed either but will probably just give them back to our butler.   The last thing we need is more junk that will go into a box in the closet with all those Tote Bags.   We usually just leave them.

Also we are pretty close to our per bag weight as we only have two airline checked bags even though allowed 2 bags each

If you are refusing the tote bags I will happily take a couple off your hands 🙂

  6. Safe journey everyone ...

Can anyone onboard answer a couple of questions please ...

Is the buffet in Oceanview still being served ??

Can you pls let me know who the CD and his team are ... I know some people think this irrelevant, but we have cruised a lot with Celebrity and know quite a few of them already from previous cruises.

    Thank you 🙂

    Hi, could someone please help?

How do I contact Jack or Sam on social media?

I have received my email with the PCR link , but my husband hasn’t.
I have tried phoning Celebrity numerous times , but I have finally  given up .

Does your husband have a separate email lodged with Celebrity ? My husband received his own email with link to PCR test

We are cruising with our adult children in a couple of months.  They are interested in bringing on board the 2 wine bottle allowance.  My husband and I have never done that.  Are there rules about where the wine must be consumed?   Is there a corkage fee in the MDR?

Yes there is ..$25 at any bar or MDR ...but you can open it in your room and take a glass with you to dining room etc

EDIT ...just read above post and if it is now $35 then I apologise ...Last I heard it was still $25

Uber is a pretty big thing in the Los Angeles area.  Although I've never specifically tried to get an Uber in Hollywood on a Sunday morning, I've NEVER had any real trouble getting an Uber (and quickly) anywhere in the greater Los Angeles area...they are plentiful here--virtually 24/7...Add in Lyft and you've doubled those virtually 100% odds...

thank you for the quick reply ...looks like I might just risk it then ...we don't use either Uber or Lyft here in the UK ...(unless maybe in some big cities) so it is all new to me. I presume you can't pre book them from what I have read previously so it just makes me a bit nervous.

  11. Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, I have only managed to read the last 3 pages so far. We are staying in Hollywood in October for 3 days prior to our cruise to Hawaii ...my question is, how easy is it to get an Uber (UberX) or Lyft on a Sunday morning to take us to the pier.?? Should I risk it being ok and not book anything, or shell out double the cost and book a limo transfer to be on the safe side ? Thank you

What do you mean by "car options"? Renting a car, a town car service? The cheapest practical way is Uber or Lyft. SuperShuttle might be cheaper, but more painful.

sorry ... meant a car service ...can Uber be booked in advance or just on the day ?? I've never used it before

Just phoned X in the UK and got put through to USA ...as others have stated she said she had to add it to planner but I have just upgraded our package to premium for £6.90 per day ...which is very good value. She also offered me the option to use our onboard credit to do it .

just checked cruise planner ....was charged £69.03 to upgrade for a 15 night cruise ....that to me works out at £4.60 per day not £6.90 as was quoted  ...even better value
