Speaking of drink packages, I’m usually a liquid iv girl. After reading @sid_9169 and recently… well yesterday with @mamiamjo I decided to try something new to me this cruise. Like Mamiamjo, I’m thinking BYTOX is too expensive, so I ordered these. We shall see how they work. Hope they match my tan. 😆

I highly recommend these to avoid a hangover. I take 3 after my last drink, and no matter how much I've had, I wake up feeling great. They're not cheap, but they REALLY work! If I could invest in this company I would, they are that amazing.

Something nice that we saw on Odyssey in March and they said it was the first week they did it was restauarant staff in the terminal prior to boarding making reservations.  It was fabulous, made all mine in yhe terminal at 10:30 prior to boarding.

They were also doing this in Port Canaveral last July on the Wonder. I got all the reservation times I wanted and it only took about 5 minutes, all before I'd even boarded the ship!

  3. I was just checking parking rates for my June Icon of the Seas cruise, and was shocked at how expensive parking garage A (dedicated Royal Caribbean garage) is! For one week the rate is $245, while all other garages and lots are $145. I was considering parking in garage B instead. Has anyone else done this? How far is the walk from the next closest parking lot/garage to the Royal Caribbean terminal? Is it worth $100 to park closer? My husband and I are in our 40's, both in good health, and have no issues with physical activity, but it will be June and extremely hot outside, so we wouldn't want to do a 15-20 minute walk. Any insight is appreciated!

On March 16th, everything was covered at Basecamp (up to $20). I never made any reservations at Pier 7 or Playmakers and I got both (7 and Play) to go along with Giovanni's Pizza and desserts from Chops (many nights). The clam chowder at Hooked was amazing but I never got it to go. It does throw them for a little bit of a loop because they're not used to a single reservation to go but after they verify your UDP they accommodated. Remember, the  UDP gives you only $20 per day credit total for A la carte restaurants. "hope this helps.

Do you have to make reservations to take advantage of the to go option? DId you try just walking up without a reservation and asking for something to go?

I can’t answer the question asked by the OP, but we stayed in an infinite CP cabin on Icon last month. We both were not crazy about CP on Icon. We both think CP is much nicer on Oasis class ships, which was reinforced when we stayed in a CP balcony on Symphony earlier this month. The shutters are a major eye sore in my book.

Did you not like the cabin specifically because of the shutter? Or were there other things that made this cabin less desirable than the ones on Symphony? (I've managed to figure out that 12591, 11597, and 11593 are not obstructed by the shutters)

Can we talk about ship time Versus port time??! Way too much trouble.  Please make ship time whatever your iPhone says it is!!!

Yes! Totally agree! I actually left this feedback on my last post-cruise survey. Also dislike when they change the time back on the last night of the cruise so you end up losing an hour on the last night.

  8. I noticed in another thread you mentioned that you did the Art and Architecture tour. Did you like it? Was it worth the money? We are considering it on our cruise on the Ascent next week. It shows up on days 6 and 7 on the itinerary, but will only allow us to book day 7. DId they offer it multiple days on your cruise?

  9. We experienced this over the summer when we booked multiple cabins on Icon while onboard the Wonder. It was cheaper for us to book a cabin with 3-4 people than it was for 2. We ended up spreading the kids around the cabins to reduce cost.

Sorry. I didn't mean to freak you out. But I wish I had had all the info when I booked my cruise, rather than just shiny happy reviews that turned out to be wrong. Then I at least could have made an informed decision.  I do think a lot depends on your neighbors; if it had been 2 adults, or older kids, it probably would have been ok.

To the person who asked if I'm sure it was the connecting door that was the issue, yes, it was really obviously the door.

Fwiw, I've been on the Dream twice before with kids next door and never heard a peep through the solid wall. Same with my 30+ other cruises. You can always hear noise from the hall, and sometimes the bathroom next door, but that's generally it and those are momentary. The only 2 times we've had persistent noise issues were when we had connecting doors, and in the room it's pretty easy to tell that's where the sound is coming through.

No, thanks for the heads up! Maybe I can talk my husband into wearing ear plugs to bed lol.

The connecting door is actually 2 doors (each door can lock on "their side" of the connecting doorway).  The 2 doors are basically just as thick as the wall the door is in, possibly less so.

Thanks, I didn't realize there are two doors. That makes me less concerned about it.

Can anyone compare The Haven on NCL on the Prima-class ships to the Retreat?  I did mock booking and can get a Haven Two-Bedroom Family Villa for the price of our Beyond sailing in a SS, which has almost twice the space (and two bathrooms) for three adults.  We've always seen NCL on the same level as Carnival and RCCL.

    Frederick

I would jump on that deal. The Prima class ship Haven is very comparable to Retreat, in fact I think the Haven cabins are a bit of a step up in design. The only difference between the two is that the menu in the Haven restaurant is the same every night, whereas the Haven menu changes daily. However, I believe unlimited dining package is included with the Haven, so you'll be able to dine at specialty restaurants each night.

I definitely do not consider NCL on the same level as Carnival. It does have some of the gimmicky bells and whistles like race car track, but the food is excellent and shows are great. Just sailed Prima last December and it is now one of my favorite ships, tied with Edge-class. NCL deposits are refundable, so really no risk in booking.

  13. Eden is a great space with great drinks and food, and the shows are impressive. Also a nice place to hang out during the day to sit and look at the ocean, read, play cards, etc.

World Class bar has the best cocktails on the ship.

Have drinks on the magic carpet when it's on deck 5. The water is feet away, and you'll feel the ocean breeze.

I thought the theatre shows were the best I've seen at sea.
