Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We did equinox in January with a group all with different arrival times. When we got there at our arrival time, people in our group who had later were already there sitting in the terminal cattle prod area. They were at the front of the line while we were way back in line. Didn’t bother us, we got on the ship too. I do believe however they are trying to control the crowds by assigning arrival times. What they can’t control is when the ship is actually ready for boarding. Some in our group with early times ended up having to stand outside because there was no more room inside the terminal. This the reason they ask folks to stick to their assigned time slot.
  2. We were also on a September cruise and while we had a 12 pm check in time, we parked and sat in our car until it was close to our time slot. When we got down our time slot was moving and there were hundreds of people waiting in later time slot lines to get onboard. They were not letting anyone from those later lines onboard. My husband also fell while we were moving in line and it wasn't pretty. Too many dang people around waiting and accidents are bound to happen. I also believe that this will be more problematic now that ships are sailing full. Can't imagine how they will line up all the early arrivers to wait for their time slots for our Wonder cruise in February.
  3. A lot of rudeness on this thread. Just because someone on the internet says it’s true doesn’t mean it’s true. Thus why people should check it out for themselves. I get that most on here think they are experts… I attempted to make reservations for my sailing and it won’t let me says I already have a reservation.
  4. This is what the Celebrity website says and it still says you select, early, late or anytime dining. I would imagine if they are changing this we would all be told and if not it would be mass confusion on day one of the cruise. I'm going to call to check it out. Celebrity Select Dining On our Celebrity Edge® Series ships, we may have reinvented the main restaurant experience with four restaurants, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining in these restaurants. Now, you can choose Celebrity Select Dining Early or Celebrity Select Dining Late, and you’ll be assigned one of the four main dining restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request. Choose Celebrity Select Dining Anytime, and you can dine in any of the four restaurants when you want. There’s nothing traditional about dining with us. With Celebrity Select Dining the choice of how you plan your evening meals is up to you.
  5. One thing I don't think folks think about when bringing children is medical care. We took our two year old granddaughter and she got sick. Thank goodness nothing serious, but it sure changed our minds about taking children younger than five on a cruise (and children in general). Think about what the medical care would be on the ship and if they had to transfer the child to a hospital at a port, would medical care be the same level you would get back home. And, would your health insurance cover the costs. And would you be able to afford the price to airlift the child off and back to safety should something happen. I'm all for family vacations, but there is more to cruising than just being on a ship. Use your own judgment and do what's best for you and your family.
