What type of weather and sea conditions would someone traveling from Barcelona to London expect?
-
Would you choose the Star Princess or Norwegian Pearl for an Inside Passage Alaskan cruise with the same ports?
-
American Icon and Silk are used for MTD. Grande and Chic are used for traditional dining. However, Grande and Chic also take overflow for MTD depending on the availability of tables.
Thanks!
-
No, only 2 of the 4. No. Same menus in all venues.
Thank you very much.
Do you happen to know which 2 are MTD?
-
When using MTD on the Anthem are all dining rooms available? Is the Grand still Formal attire? Are the menus different in each room, or is the same menu offered for all dining rooms?
-
I have the same question.

We are scheduled for the Dolphin Experience in Sept. I noticed a few members have mentioned that they were going, any comments, suggestions, or reviews from them?

If DCL is moving you, there must be a reason. If there is a maintenance issue, would you rather be moved, or be stuck in a "broken" cabin?
Now, if you aren't happy with the cabin you've been moved to, you can always contact DCL (or your TA) and see if there are any other options.
Our agent is calling to find out why. I am 69 years old and find it odd that they would move me to the teen activity deck though. Right now Deck 5 with it's expanded balcony doesn't seem too bad, but we first selected a mid ship location, now we are somewhat forward.
-
We also are on the Fantasy Sept 23rd sailing, and were just moved from Deck 7 to Deck 5 without asking us. We are not sure how happy we are about this.
-
We are sailing on the Fantasy, and were just upgraded from Cabin 7578(5C) to Cabin 5034(4E). Comments are welcome. 7578 is mid ship, 5034 is somewhat Forward. 5034 says it has a larger Balcony. Should we ask for our first choice?

We have met a couple that have suggested taking a cruise together, but they said that they always pull their daily auto tips. I politely explained to them my reasons for not doing that ourselves. We have only traveled with another couple once before, and am not sure if we should travel with this couple. We do seem to get along with them quite well.
Tipping is a hot issue with me, and I know that I wouldn't even know if they did or not, but now I do.
We have all probably had a bad day at work, and not always performed at our top level, but even so we are usually fully paid our wages.
At an on-shore restaurant it is a very rare occasion that I would tip less than 15% these days, mostly tip 20%. Many of these servers are struggling to make ends meet, and have very difficult working conditions with rude customers and demanding bosses.
I just don't understand why people are so tough on cruise ship staff.

Are flights flying into Canada qualified for this? And do you pay for luggage with your airline at all? Or does the luggage valet cover all of it?
You still have to pay for applicable airline luggage fees in addition to the valet fee.

Must be hard on Sally to give up her favorite ship so you can have cold eggs on Carnival. [emoji33]

I am an RCCL Emerald member, but did go on a Carnival Cruise to Canada once before, and somehow still managed to have great time. May I ask you how many Carnival cruises have you actually been on?

Does Disney offer a shuttle to Melborne Airport?

Best Western Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port
221 FL-84, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315
There is a small mall with liquor store, bars and grills, Subway, Wendy’s, McDonalds, Big Lots and Winn Dixie supermarket next store.
They have a free airport shuttle.
They have a port shuttle for a fee, but a taxi is around $20.00 with tip. We hung out around the pool until we were ready to head to the port.
Free breakfast
Ramada Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port
2275 W State Rd 84, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312
This place is just up the road a piece and a little bit better, but it has nothing near it like a store or small mall. On the plus side is the free shuttle from the airport, and to the port. They also offer limited hours complimentary shuttles to a large and small mall.
Their great tropical setting pool area has a very busy Tiki Bar (offers great food) is wonderful, and lit up in colors at night. They also have an inside restaurant.
Free Breakfast

The porters are not longshoremen
I was not suggesting that the Porters were Longshoremen. I was talking about the dock workers soliciting tips for the porters.
-
I thought that dock workers were Longshoremen. When I dropped off my luggage last week at Port Everglades they boldly solicited a tip for the Porters asking "Would you like to leave a tip for the Porter". Crass!
And after tipping, they lost my luggage until I found it at Guest Services.

I have carried my suitcase on board before, and may do it again after this last cruise! Apparently, not just my AAA ship luggage tag, but also my Personal ID tag fell off. I finally retrieved it from Guest Services at 10 pm. Somehow from the point of my handing it over to the gentleman at the luggage drop it managed to lose both ID tags! That's laughable now, but was not funny at the time it happened. I don't gamble because of my luck, but what are the chances of BOTH tags falling off?

We were just on this cruise and saw many young children and teens. The children's pool area was packed. It was interesting that on two of our nights we sat next to a table with 4 young children, one teen, and 5 adults which we found quieter than a large table full of adults.

Curious to know if they offered drink cards, and if so, do you recall the price?
A 10 drink card for $69 plus 18% gratuity was offered on the last full day (#4). We had a 5-8:30pm happy hour in the Concierge Lounge so we had enough being casual drinkers. I do feel that they should have offered it for use on day 3 and 4 for other casual drinkers.

We were just on the Independence, and experienced none of the Specialty Restaurant pressure as we left the Windjammer. Perhaps it was because there were only two Specialty Restaurants on that ship, and they had sufficient bookings. We did experience the push for Specialty Dining on the Anthem last year.

Good News! When I checked my e-mail this morning I noticed a second statement removing the mini-bar charge for the bottled water removed.:)
-
I just got home today (Feb 25th) from my Indy cruise, and already have noticed the $12 charge for water that I never touched. Wow that was fast, I just got in the door, had a drink, and decided to check my e-mail. I am going to call Crown and Anchor tomorrow to have this taken off my account! They really need to correct this problem!

Good Morning, and thank you.
NCL Sky daily beverage gratuity?
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We will be on the NCL Sky which fare includes unlimited beverages. I found this in a Cruise Critic article. Will we see a daily gratuity added to our accounts? You've seen all the pick-your-perk promotions that go on about the freebies you get for booking. Well, it's not really free when you have to pay gratuities, or the credited value doesn't cover full costs. For example, if you choose Norwegian's free Ultimate Beverage Package, you actually have to pay nearly $20 per person, per day, in drink gratuities -- a cost of $140 per person for a seven-night cruise. If you wouldn't have spent that much on drinks in the first place, you'll realize that sometimes cruise sales don't save you money in the end.
