  1. I was just thinking the same thing. People who think the cost of alcohol goes up because people share the package are way off. There is 1 reason and 1 reason only the cost goes up, and its because people are willing to pay for it. RCL will keep raising the prices until it gets to a point where the revenues stop growing. If people give their spouse a few drinks during the cruise off of a package, yes you can say its stealing, but it does not effect revenue. What would the difference be if someone just drinks a hell of a lot to the bottom line there is no difference. The reason the package exists is because RCL is making tons of money off of it.

It is still wrong, even if you do try to justify it.:p

  2. Drinks are free from 4:30 to 8 PM. Only coffee available 24/7 if the machine is working. The machines do have to be cleaned from time to time. No sodas. The breakfast is cooked to order in Giovanni's for suites. There will be a nice continental breakfast also in the suite lounge every morning except departure morning. Your luggage will have special tags for debarkation and when you are escorted off by the concierge, the luggage will be in an area very close to where he leads you. There will be a dedicated customs line for suites, so very little waiting.

We will be on the Indy for our first GS experience. I thought I had read somewhere that the bar service in the lounge was from 5:30 - 8:00pm. 4:30 sounds better for me so I can make dinner and show.:)

  3. As everyone says, Labadee is beautiful! OP, it looks like you will be on the Oasis, so if you would like to guarantee a chair with a shady spot, you'll want to get off the ship somewhat early. Columbus Cove is very nice and you can take the little transfer boat straight across to it after you get off the ship. On your way back, you'll be close to the tram that takes you back to the ship. It stops in various places so you can get off to explore.

For the person doing the wave rider, you may want to check Amazon for waterproof bags as I don't recall lockers. They shouldn't be very expensive.

    Enjoy!!

After a little search I found this, "The Columbus Cove Express is a tender boat that ferries cruise passengers from the cruise dock to the Columbus Cove area of Labadee. The boat ride is free and provides a nice water tour before arriving at the Cove. Wish I knew about this last time I was there.

I didn't know they had a transfer boat to Columbus Cove.

  5. We have been to the Labadee Buffet before which was just ok. Usually we opt out of the buffet, and head back to the ship for more selection. But, on our next cruise we have booked a Grand Suite which gives us access to Barefoot Beach. Is the upgraded buffet at Barefoot really much different than the regular Labadee Buffet, or should we just head back to the ship for lunch as usual?

  6. My wife and I use MTD, and if we are in a hurry when it is at busy times, we tell them that sitting with others is no problem. Unless you experience being seated with an angry husband that did nothing except bitch about the entire cruise! His wife was very nice, so I didn't want to upset her by asking to be moved, but you could tell she was not happy with him.:)

  7. I did a solo cruise to Bermuda a year or two ago. I usually cruise with my wife, but she had other plans for the date, and they were offering a no added supplement deal.

I found it interesting that I could almost always find a sole seat in the theater.

Most of the time I showed up at dinner using the Select Dining plan asking for a single table, and only had to wait for at the most 15 minutes.

If you want to make acquaintances, just hop in a busy whirlpool tub. People were always curious about someone traveling alone. One women told her husband he should be more of an adventurist like me.:D

I would also suggest not doing a long southern Caribbean cruise, but instead a short 5 night week-end cruise out of Miami or Fort Lauderdale that has more singles.:)

  8.

Adventure of the Seas (sailing January 28). Book an outside guarantee and got assigned cabin 2282 (midship/outside). Upgrade is Superior Oceanview balcony 6222.

Congratulations on your upgrade! You have a very nice deep southern Caribbean itinerary. I also noticed that the ship is SOLD OUT! Our first cruise was on a Voyager class ship, and loved it!

  9. I get on RCI website about once a week to double check our reservation and realized that the upgrade fairy has visited us. Our set sail pass paperwork reflects the new balcony room, but our luggage tags still say the old cabin on deck 2. Even the sample luggage tag on the set sail paperwork only shows partial information (cabin, ship, but no dates or Crown and Anchor level). How do I get correct luggage tags?[/quo

What ship? Did you go from an inside or OV to a Balcony?

What were the cabin # switches?
