  1. The description of the superior grand suite balcony is located on the front corner of the hump where the large port hole is located. It is easy to locate as the balcony wraps around the front of the hump facing the front of the ship. The balcony is 259 square feet - quite sizable. I have seen many pictures of Quantum where I can find this balcony, but all are from a distance. Does anyone have a close up picture of this wrap around balcony that clearly shows where the balcony divider is located? I would greatly appreciate seeing a picture of this area. Thanks so much!!

  2. Nothing comes up for entertainment at this point - interesting that the Quantum is going to be a tech whiz and web site gives so little information. It just says too far or too close to cruise to book, and another place says book onboard (which we know is not what we want to do).

Software is so sophisticated these days - when we go to hit tab for entertainment it should give us the exact date when we can reserve. That should be easy to program, but what do I know.

Likewise, I wish we would see floor plan diagrams of ALL cabins on the deck pages. At this point in time, surely they are known.

Patience is a virtue - we are just anxious.

  3. that Dynamic Dining was an option to be tried out on Quantum and Anthem. After studying - they would determine IF it would be an option on other Royal Ships. Well, how do they know how it is working - tough to get reservations and no way of knowing how it will work till these ships sail. Also, why not go forth with this at least 6 months and then poll loyal Royals to see their opinions. This whole process seems to be rushed and premature. I am sailing Quantum in March - I think I will like the idea of going to the varied restaurants - however it was a real pain setting up reservations. Still must book entertainment.

I hate to see the beautiful MDR of Oasis split up into smaller restaurants. As large as Oasis is, could they not leave one deck traditional dining for those wanting that. Then they would keep ALL passengers happy. I fear some people might drift to other cruise lines? Or is this going to be the way for ALL cruise lines. Just throwing out some ideas. To me - the luxury of cruising was having the same waitstaff the entire cruise - others might not care - just saying liked

more traditional way of cruising - less hassle.

Perhaps if making reservations were easier - I would feel a little differently. I was able to pre book early, and was not able to get a one night the time I wanted. Fifteen or thirty minutes earlier or later - that is fine, can work with that. However, what about the people who booked a month after me. Interestingly enough - I COULD get exact times for specialty restaurants, but NOT the free ones.

  4. My wife and I are staying in a grand suite. When we first booked our dynamic dining (VERY early) we were told that my cousin could come to dine with us in Coastal Kitchen (she is in a solo cabin) - so we booked her for one dinner (we were previously linked). About a week later I called to add her for another dinner, and she was NOT ALLOWED. The rep said that was only an option given the first few days, then STOPPED. I guess it depends which rep you talk to.

  5. So we get to sail before you. We will take good care of the suite for you - the same exact cabin. If you get any information on floor plan or pics please post, and I will do the same.

We are about an hour from Philadelphia - Reading area - so not too far from your home in Exton. Yes the sep. entrance to bath will be nice for your traveling situation. It is just strange to have a cabin and not know the exact layout. Well, hopefully, some more information soon - I guess this is a lesson in patience for all of us. I LOVE sailing out of Bayonne and not having to fly - that way we get more days at sea.

  6. AMAZING - I keep looking because we are booked in SGS deck 8 also - when are you sailing? Hope not March 1 or we are double booked?? I keep looking and looking to see when they put the balcony divider in - I can't wait to see that 259 Sq. ft. balcony and how big it really will be.

Hopefully, they will put them in soon. The large port hole is a big bonus. I guess we will have 2 sliding glass doors plus the large port hole. I am not sure I am liking the extra entrance to the bathroom from the living room area. I don't think it is necessary, and it kind of looks like a porta potty entrance - ha. Maybe I will like it when I see it. I am also anxious for a floor plan to see how it is all set up. It is a LITTLE smaller than the GS on other ships, but the balcony is larger than most cabins. Let me know your thoughts as we keep looking at the cam - ha! We booked this May 28 when bookings first opened - hope it is worth it.

  7. That is a great shot, Lloyd, but I am not sure if those are the Superior Grand Suites - they might be on other side of the hump since there are no large port holes on the side wall (unless they are covered?). Anticipation builds as we keep seeing more of both of these grand ships. I find it so unusual that information is so gradual - there was so much more earlier with Oasis. We appreciate all you post - keep em coming!

  8. I have always studied deck plans and asked for specific cabins with larger balconies - these were always the same price as other balcony cabins and you got more bang for the buck by booking any of these larger balconies. It seems Royal made more categories, and that now one pays more for the larger balconies. I guess you now get what you pay for - we always tried for the hump with an angle - friends traveling with us got the same cat cabin SAME price, but our balcony was larger. So, hopefully deck plans on Quantum will be accurate. Likewise, I wish they would soon publish floor plans for ALL cabin categories. Surely, by now they are almost complete, and it would be nice to see cabin configurations.

  9. Did anyone else get an email from Royal Caribbean today about booking entertainment for your Quantum sailing? I got an email listing the entertainment, our booking number, and our sail date - the email said - book your entertainment TODAY! Of course I tried and there is nothing listed in my cruise reservation about being able to book entertainment. I called Crown and Anchor and they said they would take our reservation via phone - fine. Then after about 15 minutes of holding - she came back and said entertainment reservations for our cruise in March would not be available till about 6 months out. OK - that is fine - but why send an email saying BOOK TODAY with a large yellow block saying BOOK NOW? I realize that we have plenty of time - but this is frustrating - rather than saying book today - say available to book 6 months out or even show the date (surely software should be able to do this).

Ironically, about 3 weeks ago - we got the same type of email about shore excursions which also said BOOK TODAY - and we were able to book that day.
