HOW to pay duty on ship (can’t be done)You have to claim purchases at customs You need to be off ship to do that #2 That you will be singled out by Royal Caribbean (Not Customs)and not allowed to disembark (pulled off line on gangway to disembark) # 3. Royal Caribbean. Staff will then escort you off ship to customs office ( like you did something wrong) Wouldn’t be better to inform cruisers who spend a lot of money in there shops to schedule with {RC staff } to escort you to customs on disembarkation ( like your special ) Not Bing Bing please step off line {RC staff } will be rt with you (like you did something wrong ) I think unless people have firsthand knowledge of these procedures that Myself and others have gone thru People just won’t/can’t understand. You are missing it Royal doesn't charge you tax in Duty free store Now its up to you to be good citizen, Report and Pay This would be anybody’s thought knowing Tax will be due if over your legal allotment. Please remember customs isn’t even involved till you take long walk off ship to office You are paraded by RCI past everybody to office. IF RCI not responsible for collecting tax at Sale why are they involved while disembarking before you get chance to pay

No one was flagged for anything but there purchase I can enjoy your knowledge but at no time did Buyer of a watch do anything wrong And didn’t need to be observed all they needed was opportunity to pay which is at customs window once off ship Not everybody is a criminal

You don’t know or see customs agents till you get to office You are stopped leaving on top of gangway (no explanation) Then escorted off ship ( like perp walk LOL)by concierge or other ship employee to office with agents still no explanation that’s the embarrassing and scary part. All could be avoided with different systems

You didn’t do anything wrong till you pass thru customs and not declare purchase So not a suspect a customer of the ship and its stores

Before facial rec I was flagged not to leave. Ship. I had bought a watch they took me and my family and our bags into customs office past lines and lines of people LOL. I had my declaration form filled out. Correctly pd 76$.I looked at it like express pass LOL But the way the ship handles it is embarrassing and sneaky but legal They could just tell you not have they alarm go off when you swipe your sea pass to get off. After purchase the could ask nationality and hand out form then and there But that would hurt all those duty free signs LOL
