LOL ... no it's not ... but I guess that just adds to the *freaking out* :p
Sure it is, she disappeared on an 11th and this is also an 11th ;)
-
In doing a little search, it appears that today is the actual anniversary of her disappearance
(Twilight zone music starting up in the background)

Well, if you're gonna be bound to the earth, she picked a nice place to stay :D

Julie-could you email me pleeze?

Thanks Julie! It sounds like you're looking at this the same way I am. Maybe we should book a cruise together to discuss ;)

Did it say BOA/NCL or are they trying to get you over to World Points like my temporary card? There were no double NCL points and I had just put OB charges on. Took them 3 weeks to figure it out.
Like everyone else, we're now 'WorldPoints' and now they're trying to get me to switch again (to the BoA World Mastercard)...sorry, I shouldn't have said "BoA NCL" in the subject line--my bad

I usually try to wait until I book to get giddy. Of course this can be a problem when I book 18 months in advance ;)

One upgrade certificate = ONE person upgrade. :( The second pays the higher price.Monte,
I believe you only need one certificate for the upgrade.
I checked & c breeze is correct. Now I need to decide if it's worth it to us to move up a deck or two (that money could come in handy for drinks ;))
-
Seems we have a cruise that we can use our one upgrade certificate for (I'm shocked!). But before I do, I'm unsure of one thing. Is the Compass Rewards One Cat Upgrade Cert (100 pts) good for both people booked in a cabin, or is it just one person per certificate with the other person paying the higher price?
I expected to see that in the terms & conditions on the back of the certificate, but it's not there.
Thanks

We had 8582. It's the worst - very noisy. Since this experience I always book on level 9 and up.
As for noise, I'll match our experience in 8562 against anything ;)
Great view, in fact 0% obstructed which is pretty good for an obstructed cabin :D, but there seems to be some sort of maintenance room against one wall and they seem to allow shotguns to be discharged in it LOL. I swear to God, it can be so shocking when it happens you can wet yourself.
No problems at all with noise from above or below

Hi Zeno
I think it was cabin 8562 we had. While classified as 'obstructed' there was nothing at all in front of the window, any obstructions were to the left & right. The view was great.
That's the good news. Now the bad news...
The deck plan makes it look like there is nothing against the forward wall of this cabin. In actuality, there's some sort of 'maintenance room' or something there. We had some of the loudest bangs come thru the wall that I've heard on any ship. Seriously, I though I must've been overly sensitive for some reason (the banging got to really grate on me)...then one day, I happened to be looking at the picture on the wall when one of those bangs occurred. The bottom of the picture jumped at least a couple inches from the wall. And these bangs could occur at any time of the day or night. Literally, it sounded like someone had a shotgun in that space.
IMO-save yourself the grief and move back a bit to a cabin that might be a little obstructed but doesn't have any blank spots next to it on the deck plans. I think 8566 would be a better choice and again not obstructed

I've also booked direct using all the methods of discounts/payments that you are (Certificates/Latitudes/Vets--I've even thrown in Senior)...never had a problem at all :D
I booked a cruise directly through NCL last week. At the time of booking, I did NOT mention that I had $2,500 in gift certificates. I obtained a discount for being a Latitude members ($100 each) and another 15% discount for my husband being a veteran. Has anyone heard if there is any type of a conflict with the VA and Latitude discount AND the gift certificates. I am a little concerned NCL may say "you can't use your gift certificates AND Latitude and VA discounts." Anyone had anything like this occur?
Marilyn
-
Also, does anyone know about receiving a military veteran rate on NCL? Someone told us that if my husband showed the travel agent his military discharge papers that the rate would be better than the fare for "age over 55" or "Latitudes." Does anyone know about that? Thanks!
I'm using the Military discount as a vet on my next 2 cruises. At least on my sailings I've been able to get multiple discounts (seniors, latitudes & military). Let the TA know & they should note that on your reservation. Then the military desk will send a form for you to fill out and return to them. (I'm not sure if that discount applies to all sailings)
I had some questions about the mil disc in the past and emailed them. They were helpful:

My corrected ones also arrived today :D

Hummm-I know that some at NCL read this board (I don't know that they read every post though).
I doubt that BoA read the board on any sort of regular basis.

I did not use my card for anything after my December 25 closing date. My total points was 2009. I have not received any certificates or any letter explaining what is going on. I don't have a good feeling about this.
I agree with Stillfloatin'. I suspect they're trying to make sure what goes out now is accurate. That may slow things down for a few days.
BUTTTT-if you need to pay off a cruise soon, you might want to call or email BoA
Don't start worrying yet' date=' because it looks like BOA had a computer problem and is now correcting it. I would give it a couple of weeks tops, and if it isn't made right by then, you can look for alternative action.[/quote'] -
Just to update (as some others have)
I sent an email to the CEO of BoA expressing my displeasure. I got a phone call from his office a couple minutes ago stating that they received the email. They've identified the problem (they said 6000 people we impacted by the mistake) and that my 2 $500 vouchers would be sent out this Friday. (along with a letter)
Honestly, I didn't expect a personal call from BoA, but I'm happy they did.
The fellow who called was so apologetic that I felt sorry for him. Maybe I was too angry in my email.
-
I am trying to clarify....Are we only getting certificates in 100 and 500 increments? What happens to the points that do not add up to the 100 or 500 increments?
I read once that those points will be lost
-
my brother came off the Gem the week before and he said people complained about the food and ect.
The same can be said about just about every ship afloat
-
If I count correctly --- from the reports given it's 15 successes out of 30 scheduled.
But this is the kind of thread where I would expect people would be more likely to report negatives than positives

We're 3 for 3 going to GSC!
We try to get onshore early, enjoy 2 or 3 hours before the island fills up (and the ship empties) and then head back to an almost now deserted ship. We've had great times doing it that way!
The island becomes almost a circus when it fills!

How do I check my point balance? I logged into my BoA account and see the card but I can't find where the link is to check my points. Am I missing something?
It should be somewhere on your statement. Look at the most recent one
