The wording you have posted specifically references the 'Easy Package', which cannot be used in speciality venues.

Easy Plus and Premium Extra can be used though...

This is from the FAQ on the drink package page:

I know that it says Easy Package but this is the fine print under the Easy Plus Package when I log in to my cruise. Below is the same wording under the Premium Extra Package :

The Premium Extra Package can be enjoyed in our bars, buffet, main restaurant. What’s more, it also includes Ocean Cay and other exclusive destinations, but does not cover the specialty restaurants and signature venues

  2. First time MSC cruiser. When I read the fine print under the Easy Plus Drink package, I'm surprised to see that you can't use it in specialty restaurant. Here is what it says:

The Easy Package covers all the above served in our bars, buffet and main restaurant. What’s more, it also includes Ocean Cay and other exclusive destinations, but does not cover the specialty restaurants

This disclaimer is under all drink packages. If this is true, we will probably be cancelling our specialty restaurants as this seems totally unfair.

    Thoughts?

  3. My wife and I are going on the MSC Seashore on February 4th out of Port Canaveral. We can get a flight on that day from Orlando Sanford International Airport at 10:00 am that flies directly to our home in Windsor Ontario. Am I taking a reasonable chance if I book that flight? The ship is scheduled to dock at 7:00am. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  4. My wife and I are booked on the Edge leaving February 24th. Haven't cruised on Celebrity recently and I have a question regarding the 4,5,6 etc dining packages.

Do they include all the specialty restaurants, including the Magic Carpet and Eden? Do you reserve all the restaurants before boarding the ship or now. Also, does the package include gratuitiues for those restaurants or are you expected to tip? Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  5. I have a question regarding "Risk-Free Guarantee". If I use my Future Cruise Credit now to book a cruise for June 2022 (125% of all monies paid to date) and subsequently decide to change to a future date (for example, June 2023), will I only get a Future Cruise Voucher with a value of monies paid? Here is the wording:

    • Reservation changes under the Risk-Free Guarantee will be reimbursed in the form of a Risk-Free Guarantee Future Cruise Voucher in the amount of 100% of all monies paid to Viking.

@Georgia_Peaches if you noticed the OP has been a member since 2009...yet in all that time they've only done 14 posts and, in their own words,  "have sailed on 30+ cruises..."  That just struck me as rather strange...

I'm not one to complain or comment on CC. I use this site to get information and feedback from other cruisers. I use Trip Advisor also for the same reason but I rarely post anything. Usually a question if I do.

  7. Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I appreciate the comments and information. I did not know about the dock problem at Harvest Caye. As far as the drink package, we had the beverage package included but my beef was that with the $99 quoted value that at minimum it should include water and specialty coffees. The beverage package is less on RCCL and includes those items and you are also allowed to bring water onboard as well as 2 bottles of wine per stateroom at no charge. I'm not saying that we will never cruise NCL again but we will definitely be looking at other options. We enjoyed our cruise but there are options. Thanks again for your feedback.

  8. Just got off the NCL Getaway on a 9 day cruise. My wife and I have done 30+ cruises on multiple cruise lines but more NCL cruises recently. Here are a few beefs regarding NCL:

-very disappointed with food quality in main dining room

-the $99 (plus gratuity) Beverage Package doesn't include water or cappuccino

-no longer allowed to bring water on board or wine (corkage fee)

-they chose to tender to their private island in Harvest Caye that offers no food or do not allow you to use your beverage package (if they docked, most people would go back to ship for lunch and drinks, so your stuck paying on their property)

-they tell you it's a 5 minute tender to the island then load you on a tender that holds 500 people, so by the time you board and disembark, you've wasted half hour or more (and once on the tender the first thing you hear is a request for a tip)

-the specialty restaurants were excellent but the up charges were excessive (it was emphasized by our waitress at Le Bistro that you only get one appetizer, one entree and one desert. So when I asked about ordering the soup and a salad, she told me their would be an up charge)

We enjoyed the entertainment on the cruise and the ports but we will probably be looking at Royal Caribbean or Celebrity in the future.

Would like to hear if others feel like we do or are we being too critical. Thanks!

  9. We are looking at booking a 9 night cruise out of New Orleans in February. It includes 4 specialty restaurants in the Free at Sea package. Has anyone ever looked into buying an additional specialty dining night (5 in total)? I see the price difference if you bought the dining package separately is only $15 to go from 4 to 5. Any help would be appreciated.

  10. When I first played this machine on Carnival, I won an Ipad and $500. After playing it again multiple times, it never failed that I would just miss. After reading the Sega Keymaster manual, I realized that this game is rigged in that you don't have a chance in hell of winning unless a specified amount has been dropped into the machine. This is completely different then a slot machine. Every time you play a slot machine, you can possibly win. It is completely random. This must somehow explain why they can allow this game to be played while you are in port and the casino is closed. I just wished that they would be more forthcoming in explaining how this machine is set up and not mislead people to think this is a game of skill.
